what a guy, huh? by the way, there’s a word for handing cash to a voter. that word is bribery. but it’s all in a day’s work for America’s Con-Artist-in-Chief.
Within the above is a link to the below on Threads, but I’ve copied the text here:
It is illegal for a presidential candidate, or any candidate, to hand out cash to voters in the U.S.
Offering money or any form of valuable consideration in exchange for a vote is considered bribery and violates federal election laws.
The Federal Election Campaign Act and related laws prohibit this type of conduct to ensure elections are free and fair.
Both the person offering the bribe and the person receiving it could face legal consequences.

Oh he’ll just claim it was a charitable donation and not a bribe. And everyone will accept that explanation, and as usual, there will be no consequences. Talk about a “Teflon Don.”
I think he will actually say “it was a perfect conversation”. Ok, I’m alluding to his attempt to get Ukraine to say something about Hunter Biden by threatening to keeping back congressionally approved military aid to keep Russia from invading. Seems I recall that happened and Ukraine didn’t have the resources they needed, but I’m sure that is all conjecture and happenstance and Biden’s fault.
What it shows is that the … individual … is either woefully ignorant of the laws of this country, or, pompously just doesn’t care/doesn’t believe they apply to him.
It’s illegal as hell, and I’m offended that he would buy – and disappointed that those people would sell – their vote so cheaply.
You know, I started to write that I think being the recipient would be the worst of the two of them (before I read that she could be charged,) because I had to wonder for a minute or two if I’d take the money, give some cash to the person carrying out my groceries, and send the rest to Harris-Walz. But what does taking his money make me, use regardless? Who knows what that woman’s going to do? I just hope she doesn’t get in trouble; it isn’t as if he was talking her up (or any of those other things he does with women) then gave her that, he sort of randomly tossed it over there (though we don’t know what came before, either.) Anyway, whew. I’m glad he’s never set foot in S. Central Kansas!
To clarify, I only do the grocery help-out if my favorite checker is bagging, because he always deserves a tip. If I take them out and load them myself, I get extra steps on my fitwitch for bring the cart all the way back in!

Here a candidate would not even offer to buy a round of drinks for his mates at the pub for risk of being seen as bribing potential voters, let alone handing out cash to strangers. It doesn’t matter if it’s cash or kind, it’s still seen as a form of bribery, and the electoral commission would come down on the candidate like a ton of bricks.

Maybe his campaign will get a fine. We know any Dem would be fined. And also arrested.

Exactly. The point is the appearance of impropriety, even before it’s determined to be improper. That used to be the standard, at least.
