While I admire Naskar’s faith in humanity’s trajectory, I can’t help but feel his optimism is somewhat premature. Even with 126 years ahead of us, the struggles against prejudice and exclusion seem deeply entrenched, and history has shown progress is neither linear nor guaranteed. I truly hope he’s right—but I fear that humanity may wrestle with this deadline far more than he anticipates.
He does tend in this direction in most of his work. For me, it gives hope, and I take this as giving hope and motivation. Sort of like that one graphic of a peace dove, made up of people walking to join each other. In peace. But everyone’s mileage differs, indeed! I appreciate your comment, Barry, which also is motivating to me.🕊
