Below are some screen captures from Chris Hayes show All In. I am posting the show as these are the beginning part and then he brings a guest on to discuss this. I know some of my viewers don’t like videos and they do take up a lot of time. But if you want to understand how much of an outlier the US is worldwide on this issue, please listen to the first part of the show and read the screen shots he uses. Thanks. Hugs
A woman got arrested trying to get officers to go in and get the kids out. She had the local police get her freed and she jumped the fence and rushed into the school and got her kids bring them out. Hugs
Guillermo is at home with COVID, we had our first report of Monkeypox in California, Jimmy got a shoutout on “Family Feud” and has never been so insulted in his life, the last payphone in Manhattan was removed, the Secret Service reportedly spent almost two million dollars at various Trump properties throughout his presidency, a federal judge denied a request by one of the alleged rioters on January 6th to take a five-day vacation to Cabo, soon-to-be-former member of Congress Madison Cawthorn is being investigated by the House Ethics Committee over “financial improprietes” related to cryptocurrency he promoted, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is creating a special election police force, and MyPillow Mike Lindell (James Adomian) is still screaming about voting machines and has taken out ad time to endorse a candidate of his own.
One of the best clearest videos on the issue of gun violence in the US and the reasons politicians won’t help. He talks about how in the last three there were armed guards in the schools and the shootings still happened. He talks about how gun control regulations / laws do work and gives examples. He talks about the Republican Texas politicians. Hugs
Jimmy responds to the tragic school shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, and talks about 89% of Americans wanting background checks, our cowardly leaders listening to the NRA instead of the people they actually represent, firearms becoming the #1 leading cause of death for American children and teens, Ted Cruz speaking at an NRA event this weekend, the 27 school shootings so far this year in America, and making sure that lawmakers do something about common-sense gun laws. If you can, please support Everytown in their fight against gun violence. https://www.everytown.org/
After interviewing multiple eye-witnesses and on-scene bystanders, a CNN report has concluded that Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh was purposefully shot by Israeli snipers. Almost 10 witnesses corroborated the same story about the sequence of events, saying that there was no gunfire prior to the sniper fire on Abu Akleh and her fellow journalists, with at least two witnesses saying they saw sniper rifles poking out of IDF vehicles towards the reporters.
“Several shots ring out in quick succession, cutting through a clear, blue spring morning in Jenin, in the West Bank. Crack, crack, crack, crack, crack, crack, crack. The cameraman filming the scene scrambles backwards to take cover behind a low concrete wall. Then a man cries out in Arabic: “Injured! Shireen, Shireen, oh man, Shireen! Ambulance!” When the camera operator pans around the corner, Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh can be seen lying motionless, face down on the ground as another Palestinian reporter, Shatha Hanaysha, crouches down beside her, using a tree trunk for cover. Hanaysha reaches out and tries to rouse her as gunshots continue. There’s no response. Both women are wearing helmets and blue protective vests marked “Press.” In the moments that follow, a man in a white T-shirt makes several attempts to move Abu Akleh, but is forced back repeatedly by gunfire. Finally, after a few long minutes, he manages to drag her body from the street. The shaky video, filmed by Al Jazeera cameraman Majdi Banura, captures the scene when Abu Akleh, a 51-year-old Palestinian-American was killed by a bullet to the head at around 6:30 a.m. on May 11. She had been standing with a group of journalists near the entrance of Jenin refugee camp, where they had come to cover an Israeli raid. While the footage does not show Abu Akleh being shot, eyewitnesses told CNN that they believe Israeli forces on the same street fired deliberately on the reporters in a targeted attack. All of the journalists were wearing protective blue vests that identified them as members of the news media.”
Since 2007, there have been at least 25 bills signed into law in Texas that loosen gun restrictions, with “The most recent — and some might argue, most extreme” all coming in the past year, says Chuck Todd.
