“The two largest U.S. oil companies, Exxon Mobil Corp (XOM.N) and Chevron Corp (CVX.N), posted record revenue on Friday, bolstered by surging crude oil and natural gas prices and following similar results for European majors a day earlier.
The U.S. pair, along with UK-based Shell (SHEL.L) and France’s TotalEnergies (TTEF.PA), combined to earn nearly $51 billion in the most recent quarter, almost double what the group brought in for the year-ago period.”
Exxon And Chevron Report Record Quarterly Profits
Can we say price gouging? Look while the people complain how hard it is to make it today, the republicans blame Biden to make political points while supporting the very companies that are jacking up the prices for profit. Profit over people. Understand, most of the inflation that is hurting people is due to companies trying to make as much profit as possible to make up for their lost profits in 2020. Ron and I just got hit with a nearly 90 dollar extra charge on our electric bill because of their need to use “alternative fuel energy”. Which means they had to pay more to do the job we pay them for, but they must never lose any profit so we must make up for their loss. That is the system in the US unrestrained capitalism, the companies must make the maximum profit and never lose money so the people must pay until they are left with nothing. This doesn’t happen in other countries people! In other countries the people are protected. But in the US we have unrestrained capitalism which means all the money of the country must be funneled to the top and the people must be kept desperate and struggling. Hugs
The New York Times reports:
Exxon reported income of $17.9 billion for the three months through June, more than three times what it earned a year ago. Revenue at the energy giant jumped to $115.6 billion, from $67.7 billion a year ago.
Chevron’s performance was similar, with profit more than tripling to $11.6 billion as sales rose to $65 billion, compared with $36 billion a year ago.
Coming after oil prices nearly doubled from a year ago, the bumper results were expected, but Exxon and Chevron still beat analysts’ predictions for profits in the quarter.

There is a lot to be gained by even the theater of getting these people on tv trying to explain how gas is $7.00 but they’re doubling their profits at the same time.
The meat industry, Oil/Gas and Pharma should all be lined up in front of Congress and made to explain the high costs.

During today’s episode of “Washington Watch with Tony Perkins,” Senator James Lankford (R-Okla.) announced for the first time that he will vote against H.R. 8404, marketed as the “Respect for Marriage” Act, if it comes to the Senate floor.
“The far-Left is trying to say we want to be able to push this to the next step” of the sexual revolution and “take it where it has not ever gone before,” said Lankford. “And we are going to absolutely oppose that.”
Overzealous federal bureaucrats, left-wing legal groups, and LGBTQ pressure groups are no longer saying, “We demand recognition” of same-sex marriage, said Lankford; they’re now saying, “We’re going to crush anyone that opposes our belief in gay marriage.”
“They want to take it the next step and then use” the bill “as a weapon [against] others” after this bill passes, Lankford forecasted.

Go ahead and vote against it, because voting against same sex marriage AND interracial marriage is such a popular position. Extending the marriage contract to same sex couples is “not sexual revolution.” It polls somewhere in the neighborhood of 60%-70% percent support for same sex marriage and over 90% support for interracial marriage. If by “crush people” you mean expect them to act like adults and not impose their extreme religious beliefs on everyone else, then yes, we expect that.
There is no far-left equivalent to the far-right fascists who attacked the Capitol and tried to overthrow the government. And the only ones looking to “crush” people are the right-wingers who want to overturn the Obergefell ruling and force their chosen religious beliefs down our throats.

The only people affected are county clerks and gay couples who want to get married. All this law does is get rid of the last bits of DOMA so that when SCOTUS overturns Obergefell, gay couples in red states still have federal recognition of their legal marriages.
