Warner Bros. Lets You Watch 31 Films Free Online: David Byrne’s True Stories, Christopher Guest’s Waiting for Guffman, Michel Gondry’s The Science of Sleep & More

in Film | February 7th, 2025

It’s Friday, which means that tonight, many of us will sit down to watch a movie with our family, our friends, our significant other, or — for some cinephiles, best of all — by ourselves. If you haven’t yet lined up any home-cinematic experience in particular, consider taking a look at this playlist of 31 feature films just made available to stream by Warner Bros. You’ll know the name of that august Hollywood studio, of course, but did you know that it put out True Stories, the musical plunge into tabloid America directed by Talking Heads’ David Byrne? Or Waiting for Guffman, the first improvised movie by Christopher Guest and his troupe of crack comedic players like Eugene Levy, Fred Willard, Catherine O’Hara, and Parker Posey? (I’m a huge Alan Cumming fan. And I really like Chrishell Stause’s talent, as well.)

Alan Cumming Packed the Latest Traitors Castle With Queer Contestants. It Paid Off

Gabby Windey, Chrishell Stause, Bob the Drag Queen and more are delivering on the drama — and the style.

By Ana Osorno and Samantha Allen

The year 2025 is off to an extremely rocky start. Between the devastating Los Angeles fires and Donald Trump’s upcoming inauguration, times are tough. But if you’re on the hunt for a small kernel of joy, may we recommend tuning into season three of The Traitors for some respite? Hosted by none other than Emmy-winning diva Alan Cumming, the hilarious and messy game takes place in a stunning Scottish castle — and features some of our favorite reality TV icons and villains as they basically play an amped-up version of the party game Mafia with twists, turns, and delicious challenges. Prepare yourself to watch some Real Housewives stir the pot while big-game players — think: Survivor, Big Brother, The Challenge — inflict maximum pain on the competition. It really is as fun as it sounds.

This season, specifically, features a cast seemingly pulled directly out of our very gay fever dreams. Bob the Drag Queen! Gabby Windey! Chrishell Stause! Carolyn Wiger! A gay royal! Thank you, Alan. We are forever indebted to you for your efforts to ramp up the LGBTQ+ factor this year. After Peppermint was the first to be voted out last season… it’s nice to have multiple icons to root for, especially ones so vehemently opposed to Vanderpump Rules villain Tom Sandoval.

The longtime Traitors fans here at Them have been counting down the days until the return of this beloved show, so in honor of the first three episodes being released on Peacock, we sat down to discuss our fave players, judge the choices they’ve made so far, and share our hopes for the rest of the season. Below, site director Samantha Allen joins me to break it all down. — Ana Osorno (snip-More at the link)

New Year’s Twilight Zone Marathons (we’ve got 3 separate ones here, on lifeline cable, even! -A.)

The weather outside is frightful, but The Twilight Zone is… also frightful.

By Josh Weiss Dec 27, 2024, 1:24 PM ET

The weather outside is frightful, but The Twilight Zone is… well, also pretty frightful on occasion. But we can’t think of a better way to ring in 2025 than with SYFY‘s annual New Year’s marathon featuring three uninterrupted days of back-to-back episodes from Rod Serling‘s classic and groundbreaking anthology series between December 31 and January 2.

“It’s interesting, because The Twilight Zone has never been off [the air]. It’s always been there. It’s never died,” Rod’s elder daughter, Jodi Serling, told SYFY WIRE while speaking about her father’s lasting impact. “It’s because the message that he’s sending is so apparent today. Everything that he predictively wrote about is coming back to us. It’s just an honor to know that his legacy will continue to live on forever. He was such a humble kind of guy, I don’t think he realized what an impact that he was going to make on our society.”

“When the original Star Trek debuted, when I was 10, I recorded it on reel-to-reel audio tape in case it never aired again. You couldn’t watch a show whenever you wanted to. There was no way to revisit the shows you loved unless they were in syndication and then they’d be cut up,” adds Marc Scott Zicree, author of The Twilight Zone Companion, during a separate conversation. “We live in a blessed age where you can watch anything you want, anytime you want. I really love these marathons, because I’ve heard from so many people that they just leave the TV on and glance over. It’s like, ‘Oh yeah, that’s the one with Talky Tina! That’s The Howling Man!’ The great thing about Twilight Zone, is that it’s also a family show. You can literally sit down with your kids, and it may scare them, but you know that they’re not going to see something inappropriate. They know what they’re signing up for. I really love the fact that there are Twilight Zone marathons. I think it’s terrific.”
