Republicans / fundamentalist Christians want minority rule, because they are the minority and they want to force everyone to live by their dictates. Republicans have no policies to run on, they are unpopular, they are wage a culture war that is very unpopular with the majority so they have to cheat to win elections. They have to do extreme gerrymandering and restrictive anti-voting laws. Simply put, they do not want everyone to vote, they hate the idea of one person one vote. They want only their voters to vote. In fact the fundamentalist Christian republicans would rather get rid of people voting at all, and instead just pick the republicans that will rule over you, creating the doctrines, rules, laws that dictate how every part of your life must be lived. To make them happy and suit them. You must conform to them and their ways of life, no individuality, no being different, no having any thoughts not approved by the pastor or the legislature. Hugs. A network of right-wing activists and allies of Donald J. Trump is quietly challenging thousands of voter registrations in critical presidential battleground states, an all-but-unnoticed effort that could have an impact in a close or contentious election.
Calling themselves election investigators, the activists have pressed local officials in Michigan, Nevada and Georgia to drop voters from the rolls en masse. They have at times targeted Democratic areas, relying on new data programs and novel legal theories to justify their push.
In one Michigan town, more than 100 voters were removed after an activist lobbied officials, citing an obscure state law from the 1950s. In the Detroit suburb of Waterford, a clerk removed 1,000 people from the rolls in response to a similar request.

There is a simple cynical reason for this – Republicans hate high turn out elections because they no longer have popular enough issues to get their candidates elected into power.
Isn’t it pitiful that the only way a political party can get elected is to remove its opposition from the voting rolls!!! Talk about being Un-American. Joseph McCarthy would have a field day with this horse hockey.
Not a new strategy for the fascists. Prior to the 2000 election, Jeb! with help from his SOS/Florida campaign chairman for his brother, Katherine Harris, removed over 10,000 names from the Florida voter rolls.
Oddly, the voters targeted were 95% black and hispanic with a record of Democratic party registration.
The real question is why arent the democrats doing this right back? Every time someone gets arrested for voter fraud they turn out to be republicans. Where are our organizations going after the GOP voters???
If Democrats did it, the SC would immediately take an interest. Unfortunately this would consist of emergency rulings making it impossible for Democrats to register any new voters at all (alongside ‘this should not be taken as precedent’ so that the republicans could carry right on with their criminality).
Yup, but until it can be banned, we should be doing so. And the Streisand Effect of their outrage will lead to exposing the damage that republicans have already done. It could both be energizing and help encourage democrats to verify their eligibility and begin the hoop-jumping process to get their voting rights restored.

It has been and will be used against us over and over again. We cannot afford to be the “bigger person” anymore. This is that point in time where we’re going to have to compromise and get our hands dirty.
Besides, there are plenty of things we can do that would be ignored otherwise, without stooping to their level.

Similarly, what Obama did when he won and he told grassroots state level parties to cease and desist. Stacy Abrams helped the Democratic party win multiple elections, some against All odds and has been paid back by the party with nothing.

If ONE Democrat did one thing that the Trump Republicans are doing, the GOP would be building the gallows in the freaking Rose Garden and parading them down the DC Mall in shackles. Guaranteed. Can you imaging if Joe Biden did one of the things Trump did? The apoplectic hissies from the sycophantic, obsequious, Trump ass-kissing toadies would be deafening.
