Oklahoma state superintendent confirms new student test results are ‘very different’

Ryan Walters said his agency is explaining the new data to schools. District leaders deny there has been any explanation from the state.

(It’s very interesting. Well-written, but there are still little gold nuggets or Easter Eggs scattered throughout. It’s worth the click. Read it on my phone last night.)

  1. Hi Ali. I am heading to the link you posted. As you know this Christian Nationalist anti democracy anti letting people live as they truly are so they can be happy in life, has long been one of the people I am posting against. Thank you for posting his misdeeds. I will add more after I read the post.

This is from the post. However, public records Oklahoma Voice obtained show the cause of spiking scores was not better school performance, but rather a result of the state lowering the bar for students to receive a proficient score on English and math tests. Had the state not changed its scoring methods, test results would have been similar or slightly lower than student performance in 2023 … This because Walters’ focus has been on forcing his view of Christianity on public school kids and his mission to become a religious leader in how to force Christian nationalism on every kid in public schools trying to make more little Christians.

The process resulted in new expectations that lowered the performance level needed to get a proficient score, according to public records Oklahoma Voice obtained from the state. Again because the focus was not on educating kids but to indoctrinate them. Thanks for a wonderful post. Hugs. Scottie

    1. Heh! You know, I haven’t even set alerts the way most of you bloggers do, but I guess I’ve shared enough about Walters that my phone puts stuff about him in my stream. My phone and I still don’t agree (I’ve had it around 4 months) on what it should and what it shouldn’t decide for me but rather leave as I set it, but it picks up on other issues really well, so it’s easy to keep up with Walters. Anyway, I think he may be going to get a well-deserved comeuppance in OK!

      1. Hi Ali. I really wish he would. Please keep me and the blog up to date on him. He and the governor are a danger to freedom and the civil rights of everyone who is not a straight cis Christian. The governor openly proclaimed OK a Christian state which says that all people of other religions are not welcome or worth as much as Christians. Including the many native people there. He is a true Christian nationalist who is using his power to drive the state deeper under Christian religious control. I worry about the sneak campaigns that the Christians did to get so many of them in high power positions to now threaten democracy and our way of life. Hugs. Scottie
