| September 12, 1998 A group later known as the Cuban Five was arrested after infiltrating groups which had previously executed terrorist attacks on Cuban soil.They were convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. Their conviction was overturned by a three-judge panel of the 11th Circuit Court, then reinstated by the full court; an appeal to the Supreme Court is planned.
