CNN: Not 1. Not 2. Not 3. Not 4. 5 winter storms could deliver more snow to some than the last two winters combined

A reader of Scotties Playtime sent this to me.
Climate change is real. The change in the intensity of hurricanes is figured into insurance rates and costs in Florida and other places. It is also figured into the projections northern states use to budget for snow removal and sand / road salt requirements. I worry about any of our readers in these states. Hugs and love to all of them. Hugs

Not 1. Not 2. Not 3. Not 4. 5 winter storms could deliver more snow to some than the last two winters combined
The second of five storms that will slam the eastern half of the United States with snow and ice over a two week period is on the way – and this one has more snow than the first.

  1. Yep; when the Republicans dissect NOAA with the NWS, cities, states, and counties will have only the Farmers Almanac to use to plan purchases for weather prep.

    Fun times all around.

    1. Hi Ali. Well you were correct, the Musk break the government group has gutted NOAA. Sam Seder said it is so they can create a for profit app you have to pay for to get weather information. What have we wrought in this country? Think of how fast they have dismantled and disregarded the courts. Thank how hard it will be for the democrats to rebuild it all if we even get the chance. Hugs

      1. Well, before the pay-for-ap, there will be Accuweather and the Weather Channel splitting up the tax money that used to be spent on NOAA to provide a far lesser quality weather product for most people who use such things. The ap may be a little better, but trust me, a civilian weather geek, those companies are always 20 or more minutes behind the NWS when bad weather is present. It’ll still be inferior. This admin’s bottom line is not protecting people so that the population will decrease, and they can have everything.

          1. I loved WU; it’s where I learned that NWS’s website exists. But the Weather Channel bought them several years ago, and they’ve slowed down some. Their radars aren’t always in service around here, which is not helpful when supercells are around. However, if they’re good by you, by all means use WU. I like the idea of them using that name! 🙂

        1. Hi Ali. You wrote, … a civilian weather geek, … Really. I have been wanting to get a medium good weather station. But I have to worry about costs. Do you have a weather station setup and what would recommend? Remember anything that tracks wind or sticks up would have to be brought in during a hurricane. Hugs

          1. I don’t have one; I use NWS for everything. The elementary schools here each have one; the 3d graders use it to learn a bit. Theirs are older, but they look like this one, that runs a little over $95:https://www.walmart.com/ip/KALEVOL-Professional-Weather-Stations-Indoor-Outdoor-Thermometer-Wireless-Color-Display-Atomic-Clock-Rain-Gauge-Station-Sensor-Wind-Speed-Direction/5146793706 .
I really mostly like to know what’s coming by tracking temperatures and dewpoints, and reading forecasts for the states around my area, as well as my own area. Geek may have been an exaggeration! 🙂

    2. Sorry that should have been think how hard, not thank how hard. Tired today. It is my birthday, 62 years old they tell me, and last night I accidentally doubled my evening pills. So I woke up groggy and dragged out all day. Hope you are well. Hugs
