There is no doubt what Fox News Corp has been doing. They make money by keeping their viewers as agitated as possible. When after Fox called the election for Biden they lost a lot of viewers to the more farther right media who spouted even worst lies. Fox soon we full big lie to win those viewers back. I can see their point, they are in it for the money. But they also are in it from the beginning to enable the channel to manipulate politics and the people to benefit the wealthy by changing laws to help the wealthy. The thing the viewers of these channels don’t realize is their being played. The lawyers for Fox have argued in court they are entertainment hosts, and their opinion should be taken as fact or news. We know Fauci simply looks at the data / evidence and gives his best educated recommendations based on his 30 plus years doing his job very well. Fauci don’t make any rules, laws, or mandates himself. He doesn’t have that authority, he recommends. The elected officials do the rule making. But the right has vilified him. I can tell you why. It is a myth that the wealthy push that for some reason they are entitled to taxpayers money by the government serving their wants and needs, but lower incomes are lazy wanting free stuff they don’t deserve to have the government use taxpayer money to work for the public. Every time the Republicans want to give a tax cut they claim it is our money, it is better in your pocket than the governments. When it comes to getting anything for the money we are taxed the Republicans scream it is a moral failing of wanting free stuff. Don’t buy it. The funny thing is you would think that US taxes would be very low or non-existant since the country doesn’t provide for education and healthcare, but they’re quite high actually, and with none of the benefits. Here is some fun facts about Sweden, Michael. We have both the above named wishes (but we do not live with the delusion you so happily slap on it – that it is free) and it works. We even reduced our national debt year by year up until the pandemic. This is mainly true for all Scandinavian countries so why do you keep trying to sell the image of tax financed education and health care as not possible to be successful? He does it because Ramirez, and all his ilk, fear that workers who actually have mandated vacations and retirement and medical care with low cost or free training for new jobs, will actually feel free and move around to the BEST jobs.
Just a clue, save on the very lowest rungs of the wage ladder, people in the USA usually check out the benefits package before they check out wages.
Meaningful medical care is NOT a given. Most companies now provide several “options”, and if you take the cheapest you’ve got no medical at all as far as “usual” medical care goes.
Paid vacation when you want to take it is NOT a given. Carryover of unused vacation time is NOT a given. Being paid for time not used is NOT a given. Vacation over two weeks in a year is a monster benefit.
Actual job retraining paid for by the company and done on company time is absolutely not a given, and nearly nonexistent.
Company pensions are a thing of the past, it’s all about “matching funds in 401K’s” – often just a means to force employees to buy company stock.
Company contributions are VASTLY important, you may pay half the cost of medical insurance, you may pay 2/3, you may pay it all. Same goes for anything and everything.
My “contribution” for my “benefits package” sucks up about a thousand bucks a month. Maybe a bit more. I hate to look at it, because it makes me mad every time.
If anyone over there is wondering why American workers all sound disgruntled, copy this and send it to them. Doubtless the trolls will be whining, they won’t manage to claim any of it is not accurate, but they’ll whine. It’s what trolls do.

You might find the right’s venom for Fauci to be inexplicable. He’s not some kind of partisan going around telling people to vote for Democrats. What did he do to make them so angry? He did what any public health official would have done, which is to explain what we know and don’t know about the virus and encourage people to take precautions.
If liberals loved him, that meant conservatives had to hate him. At this moment the Republican Party’s policy agenda is a desiccated husk to which no one in their party pays more than the most perfunctory attention. What animates them is hatred of the left and the ongoing, endlessly renewable need to Own the Libs. Bashing Fauci became one more way to accomplish that goal.
The second source of rage at Fauci is that conservative media needed a villain for the pandemic story. And not just a villain, but a domestic villain, a target for all the loathing they could muster in order to turn the pandemic into another weapon in the endless war against liberals and liberalism.

Here are some points that came to me about these smash and grab thefts. Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk each make more money off the Trump tax breaks than all the smash and grab robbers put together made last year. And the Sessions-Barr DOJ tried to give more to the despicable Sacklers. While Republicans seek to smash democracy and protect the ultra-rich who are grabbing ever-greater wealth. Republicans sing in harmony, “The election was stolen from us!” Just because the majority did not vote for them.
So Kelley is saying that a few incidents of Smash and Grab by gang bangers in California is worse than Billions in subsidies and Trillions in tax breaks gifted to the oligarchs and mega corporations? Oh that’s right. They are the trickle-down “makers” that (only coincidentally) just happen to be Republican donors. That robbery is just fine. Members of Krampus SeattleChristmas in the small town of Leavenworth, Washington, is a bit different this year:
Santa and Mrs. Claus, the Grinch, snowmen and elves fill the streets of Leavenworth during the holiday season. Some are part of the city’s official holiday programming, while others are visitors simply eager to get into the holiday spirit.
During one weekend earlier this month, a group of horned half-goat, half-human creatures dressed in animal fur robes joined other holiday cosplayers in the streets of this Bavarian-themed town.
The bells around their waists marked their arrival, as they walked the streets of downtown Leavenworth. They were silent, letting their elaborate, dramatic wooden masks and costumes speak for themselves.
The members of Krampus Seattle have been introducing Washington holiday revelers to the tradition celebrated in Germany, Austria and several Eastern European countries for the past several years. According to the tradition, Krampus walks through the streets to terrify children into being good before St. Nicholas’ arrival the following day.
Krampus really is an Alpine tradition. But not everybody in Leavenworth is happy about it there. A local Catholic businessman and Knights of Columbus member says that the Chamber of Commerce told the Catholics to take a hike. Excerpt:
Benjamin Herreid, a Leavenworth, WA, restaurant owner and member of the Knights of Columbus, says the town’s Chamber of Commerce told the Knights their booth would not be included in this year’s public festivities. The exclusion of the Knights was itself disturbing, but the Chamber of Commerce had something much worse in store, Herreid reports.
“Our booth has been a feature of the Christmas lighting for the past 30+ years,” Herreid wrote in a Facebook post. After the Chamber inexplicably turned the Knights away, Herreid and his business partner “made space on our restaurant’s patio for the K of C sausage booth,” whose proceeds go toward the mentally and physically handicapped, as well as the “spiritually handicapped (all of us),” he wrote.
Herreid said that while the exclusion of the Knights could have been “unintentional,” it “seems to illustrate the priorities of those leading the charge in this town.” After a recent election and the introduction of COVID restrictions, officials “rebranded” the longstanding local custom of “Christmas Lighting,” axing the word “Christmas” from the title and renaming it “Village of Lights,” Herreid told CatholicVote Monday.
After that and the kerfuffle with the Knights of Columbus, Herreid began to see a pattern. But nothing prepared him for what happened next.
On the opening weekend of the town’s public holiday celebrations, “the Chamber had the audacity/naivety/stupidity to kick off this non-holiday by inviting Krampus Seattle,” a “group of demonic horned half-goat cosplayers,” to “give speeches at our pavilion and pub crawl throughout the downtown terrifying our children,” Herreid wrote on Facebook.
In this story, the Chamber of Commerce in the Bavarian-themed village responds. Excerpt:
For years, the Knights had a booth selling sausages at the Leavenworth Christmas festival. But this year, the chamber did not get access to Front Street’s right of way – this being the main drag through town – as it is now closed to traffic.
All of that boiled down to the Knights not getting a booth because it needed both electric power and water, and such a combination was not available, says the chamber. It’s complicated setting up everything from the winter market to the carolers to the live music.
And:
Regarding the name change for the festivities, the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce said the “Christmas Lighting Festival” title had been used for years on the first three weekends in December. Then, each Saturday and Sunday there was a “flip the switch” to turn on the light displays.
The chamber said 20,000-plus people would visit, all “looking for parking spots that did not exist” and causing “traffic backups for miles.” Now the lights stay on every day to spread out the crowds, and the organization says “a rebranding was necessary.” So, the new name: “Village of Lights.”
What do you think? Krampus is an authentic Alpine tradition, and that includes Bavaria, so the town is not pulling this out of nowhere. On the other hand, I would not want to see that on the streets at Christmastime, and especially wouldn’t want my little children to see it. I don’t believe the Chamber of Commerce’s excuse for changing the name of the Christmas lights festival. It’s the same de-Christianization mentality that leads anxious schools and other institutions to rebrand it “Winter Festival” or “Holiday Festival”. I can easily see how welcoming Yuletide demons on the opening weekend of a festival that for the first time gets rid of the name “Christmas” would upset people.
I disagree with the author. I think it is totally acceptable. it is a tradition as much as Santa, elves, baby Jesus, and other Christmas notions. People celebrate differently. Now if you teach your kids demons are real and they punish bad people and the kids are scared of these people thinking they are real demons that punish bad kids, are your kids being that bad? Why do they think the demons are there for them? Also how about we teach kids about reality? Do they think superhero’s are real because they watch a movie with Marvel characters? Rep. Madison Cawthorn To Divorce His Earthen Vessel
“People will call me a radical for believing that, you know, you should be a Christian, you should get married young, you should have as many kids as possible, you should be as successful as you possibly can,” he said on Monday. “They’ll say I’m an extremist for that.”

Cawthorn’s political career has been marked by multiple controversies. Prior to his election last November, several women he went to college with accused him of sexual misconduct. In February, he attempted to board a plane with a gun and a loaded magazine. More recently, Cawthorn has positioned himself as an anti-mask, anti-vaccine firebrand, and has attended school board meetings across North Carolina to advocate against mask and vaccine mandates.
In April, Cawthorn missed 15 votes in Congress while away on honeymoon, which he defended by saying he was fulfilling his “service as a husband.”
Two days before his divorce announcement, Cawthorn had advocated for marrying young at the “Americafest” conference run by Turning Point USA.

Omicron was the 15th documented variant and the 8th variant of concern. The people who understand virology saw it coming. Many of the scientists warned of another COVID December this last summer. If Ramirez isn’t smart enough to understand that the Biden Administration was saying they couldn’t conceive that Americans could still be this ignorant after 2 years of COVID, that there would still be unvaccinated, that people would still refuse to wear a mask, and they would still resist social distancing. Americans have been proving their stupidity every day since Trump was elected and solidifying it since COVID. Time to cull the herd: let the unvaccinated, Q-anon reading, MAGA shitheads rot in their private tents outside of the hospitals. Give them a YouTube stream so they can “prove” they were right as they take their last raspy breath.

Michael Ramirez continues to demonstrate how fact-challenged, math-challenged, honesty-challenged, democracy-challenged or all-of-the-above challenged he is if he does not understand that the Senate is NOT a democratic institution.
And no, 51 votes from conservative senators does NOT equal a majority, when a state like Montana or Wyoming, with 1/18 the number of people as California has the same number of senators.
No, it is not a majority. 24% of the people represented are able to block the will of 76% of the people.
Even without the filibuster, the red state conservative failed, impoverished taker-welfare states would be far over represented compared with the successful, prosperous donor states. Add in the fact that just 40 senators from the smallest states with the fewest people (representing land [dirt], not people; conservative believe PEOPLE are worth less than DIRT) can use the corrupt, RACIST filibuster (begun to obstruct civil rights reforms and perpetuated to obstruct civil rights reforms) such that senators representing 24% of the population can overrule the will of senators representing 76% of the population.
That is NOT a majority.
That is NOT a democracy.
And if Michael Ramirez does not understand that, he is ignorant and uneducated and unqualified to comment. And if Michael Ramirez DOES understand it, he is immoral and dishonest.
