10,000 Dead

Another calm rational explanation of what is happening and the probable reasons why.  The video details of the clear attempt of Israel to reclaim the land for its own use, removing all Palestinians from Gaza.  Hugs.  Scottie

Some Majority report clips.

Fox News host Sean Hannity reacted to the news that Issue 1, the Ohio abortion ballot measure was adopted. Hannity said that Democrats are “…trying to scare women into thinking Republicans don’t want abortion legal under any circumstances.”
In 2008, GOP House Speaker Mike Johnson said in a radio interview that the fall of Rome, per some historians, was attributed to “…not only the deprivation of the society and the loss of morals, but also to the rampant homosexual behavior that was condoned by the society.”
Sam Seder and Emma Vigeland examine the absurdity of recent attempts to paint the US as having a lack of leverage over Israel, walk through the practicalities of a ceasefire and what an attempt to actually dismantle Hamas would look like (if Israel or Biden cared).
Counterpoints’ Ryan Grim and Emily Jashinsky asked Rand Paul for his response to the israel/Gaza conflict after the October 7th attack by Hamas. Paul acknowledges that Israel’s response could potentially radicalize more people to resist violently and resist coming to a diplomatic conclusion.

Thursday’s Theme Music

The title is very low-key and misleading until the hard a punch this post has.  I have to admit, I am jealous I can not write this well and put such emotion with detail into a post.   The author is an accomplished writer who can lead a reader down a path and then deliver the real message.   Please read and enjoy.   Hugs.  Scottie

Transgender people can be baptised and be godparents, Vatican says

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-67366198

Ah, the world it is a changing!  The young are turning out in droves to vote against racism, bigotry, hate, and misogyny.  It is time that the people stuck in the 1950s or who were in their prime in the 1970s, along with the fundamentalist religious crowd that wants everyone to follow their church doctrines to understand the society doesn’t want that.   Society has moved along to the modern age.  If you want to live in those old times / traditions, do so like the Amish / Mennonites.  You don’t see them trying to force everyone to live their lifestyle.  Hugs.  Scottie

Transgender people can be baptised in the Catholic Church as long as doing so does not cause scandal or “confusion”, the Vatican has announced.

The Church’s doctrinal office also said trans people could be godparents at a baptism and witnesses at a wedding.

The move follows attempts by Pope Francis to make the Church more welcoming to LGBT people.

The Pope told one trans person in July that “even if we are sinners, he (God) draws near to help us”.

The Vatican’s updated stance comes after Brazilian Bishop José Negri wrote to the Church’s Dicastery of the Doctrine of the Faith with six questions regarding LGBT people and their participation in baptism and matrimony.

On Wednesday the department posted on its website three pages in response, which was signed by the dicastery’s head – Argentine Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández – and with the approval of Pope Francis.

It states that a transgender person – including those who have undergone hormonal treatment and gender reassignment surgery – can receive baptism under the same conditions as other believers “if there are no situations in which there is a risk of generating public scandal or disorientation among the faithful”.

The document also explores Bishop Negri’s other questions, including whether trans people can be a godparent. It says that where an adult has undergone hormone treatment and gender reassignment surgery they may be a godfather or godmother.

But it goes on to state that priests have the discretion to refuse such a request if “there is a danger of scandal, undue legitimisation or disorientation in the educational sphere of the church community”.

American Jesuit priest Fr James Martin, who is a supporter of LGBT rights, posted on X (formerly Twitter): “This is an important step forward in the Church seeing transgender people not only as people (in a Church where some say they don’t really exist) but as Catholics.”

While the document seems to set out clearly what the Church thinks in terms of trans people being baptised or acting as godparents, it is more nuanced on the other issues raised by Bishop Negri.

On the question of whether same-sex parents who adopt or use a surrogate mother could have a child baptised in the Church, the Vatican said a priest’s decision would have to be based on the “well-founded hope that he or she would be educated in the Catholic religion”.

There was a similarly nuanced response to a question whether a person in a same-sex relationship could be a godparent at a Church baptism. It said the person had to “lead a life that conforms to the faith”.

The updated guidance to Catholic clergy follows a suggestion by the Pope last month that same-sex couples could receive a blessing from a priest – saying such a request should be treated with “pastoral charity”.

Francis added, however, that the Church still considered same-sex relationships “objectively sinful” and would not recognise same-sex marriage.

GOP candidate loses in Kentucky after millions spent on anti-transgender ads

https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2023/11/gop-candidate-loses-in-kentucky-after-millions-spent-on-anti-transgender-ads/

One of the most serious reasons I quit being a member of TYT and refuse to watch their shows was because of Cenk’s and Anna’s constant refrain that the left supporting trans people was a losing issue, causing the republicans to win races.  They were vicious about it, how the left had to stop supporting trans people, stop talking about them, and just let the right have that space.  Even as it was pointed out to both of them that the election results showed they were wrong, they doubled down on the idea that the left needed to stop supporting trans people, pushing for trans people to play sports with the gender they identified with, and letting trans people use the public / school restrooms of the gender they identify with.  This election again shows how Cenk and Anna have become so out of touch with the left now.   They doubled down because in their minds they are the experts that everyone must agree with and follow.  Hopefully these election results will get Cenk to drop his grift of running for president against Biden. I will also remind everyone that Riley Gaines is a failed losing swimmer that makes her money being a star of the anti-trans movement complaining that she mistreated but always fails to mention the truth both her and Lia Thomas were beaten by four other women swimmers.  If Thomas had such great advantages, why was she beaten by four other women? Gaines is just a poor swimmer compared to the competition.      Hugs.  Scottie

Despite an outside organization spending millions of dollars on ads attacking transgender people to support GOP candidate and state Attorney General Daniel Cameron, incumbent Gov. Andy Beshear (D) is projected as the winner in the Kentucky gubernatorial race with 90% of precincts reporting.

“We have been through a lot together,” Beshear told supporters late last night after the race was called. “Devastating tornadoes in the west, historic flooding in the east and after each I made a promise, a promise that I would help rebuild every home and every life. And thanks to the people of Kentucky and thanks to this election, we’re going to see that promise through.”

Transgender rights became a major campaign issue this past year in the state. One of the ads funded by the American Principles Project PAC (APP-PAC) said that Beshear would send the FBI to take trans kids away from their parents if their parents didn’t accept their identities, which was not a part of Beshear’s platform.

Another ad showed a drag queen and accused Beshear of pushing “child sex changes with permanent consequences.” The ad was removed from YouTube under the platform’s hate speech policy.

In several other ads featuring former University of Kentucky swimmer and anti-trans activist Riley Gaines, APP-PAC attacked Beshear for vetoing a bill to ban trans kids from participating in school sports. The Republican legislature ultimately overturned his veto.

In the ad, Gaines complained about tying with trans University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas for fifth place in a competition, a moment Gaines described as “heartbreaking and somber.” She has used her story for the past two years in political ads and speeches as she decries trans equality.

In the ad, Gaines also said that Beshear wasn’t a “real man” while calling Thomas a “male” and misgendering her.

On X, Terry Schilling of APP-PAC said that the group spent $2 million on the anti-trans ads in Kentucky.

The Lexington Herald-Ledger reports that Schilling’s group ran similar ads against Beshear in 2019 when he was first elected.

Schilling got national attention in 2020 when he told Politico that he hoped to make opposition to transgender rights a wedge issue to support Republican candidates. His group paid for anti-trans ads supporting Trump’s campaign. Trump ultimately lost the election by about seven million votes.

“What I’m hoping is that once we release these ads and numbers start to move, the Trump campaign will see it’s a powerful issue that the Republican Party can use to its success,” Schilling said at the time.

Israel Spokesman Stuns CNN’s Wolf Blitzer With Brutal Admission

During an appearance on CNN with Wolf Blitzer, an IDF official admitted to intentionally striking the Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza where hundreds of civilians were located. I discuss the details of that event, the response from Democratic leadership, how Biden’s position is affecting his poll numbers, a reaction from Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, and a lot more.
