Extremists Shout Slurs, Shut Down CA Drag Story Hour
The jerk below is a well known right wing agitator who used to make stuff up about BLM protestors to try to promote anger at them and black people. I watched the video in which he claims people of color stopped the performance yet in the video all the people are white. Hugs
Protesters blockade San Fernando Library, shut down drag queen story event
Look at the pictures, and tell me what is sexual happening? What is threatening to kids in these pictures? A small group of angry violent haters were allowed by the 10 police officers there to deny other people the right to use a public facility and see the performance they had come to see. The police allowed them to block entrances, to scream profanities in front of children they claimed to be trying to protect, and seemed to feel entitled to force others to do only what the hateful protesters want. This is not democracy. Think of how the police handle BLM protestors, and yet made no move to arrest these protestors. Below is a quote from the article. Hugs
“Protesters claimed they want to keep children safe while pounding on walls, shouting obscenities and slurs toward my staff and library staff, and using strollers to blockade moving vehicles. The hypocrisy is astounding,” Horvath said.
Drag queen Pickle reads a story to children during a Drag Queen Story Hour event at the Laguna Art Museum in Laguna Beach on June 17.(Irfan Khan / Los Angeles Times)———————————————————————————Dozens of protesters physically blocked the entrance to the San Fernando Library this week to stop a scheduled drag storytime reading event from taking place.
Videos posted on social media showed a group of about 70 people — some of whom had previously attended similar demonstrations in North Hollywood, Glendale and elsewhere — wearing black-and-white shirts reading, “Leave our kids alone.” They chanted the same slogan through bullhorns while hurling verbal abuse and slurs at the guest reader.
Story hours, during which drag queens read to children at venues such as libraries, schools and bookstores, have drawn fury and condemnation from conservatives and right-wing extremists across the country. Some events have been the subject of anti-LGBTQ+ threats and at times violent confrontations.
Wednesday’s scheduled 30-minute event, which organizers said was intended to promote youth literacy, never took place.
“What was meant to be a celebration of love and inclusion turned into the opposite,” Los Angeles County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath, the event’s host, said in a statement Thursday.
“Protesters claimed they want to keep children safe while pounding on walls, shouting obscenities and slurs toward my staff and library staff, and using strollers to blockade moving vehicles. The hypocrisy is astounding,” Horvath said.
Horvath’s staff said in an email that the supervisor, who was inside the library, did not officially cancel the event. But it did not proceed because demonstrators “blockaded” entrances — denying entry to both library patrons and drag queen Pickle, the guest reader.
Pickle, Los Angeles chapter president of the nonprofit Drag Story Hour, said she parked blocks away from the library “for safety reasons,” anticipating some hostility.
Video footage showed that San Fernando police officers encircled Pickle near the rear entrance. The phalanx moved toward a metal gate but stopped short as some protesters screamed “pervert,” “pedophile” and “disgusting freak” at Pickle.
About six to eight protesters refused to leave the entrance even after police issued a dispersal order, according to Pickle. The San Fernando Police Department did not confirm or deny whether such an order had been given.
The drag performer said she and the police then attempted to move to the front entrance. As they walked, protesters blared car horns, refused to move and positioned nearby tables to block the front entryway, she said.
“At this point, the police weren’t making arrests, they weren’t stopping the mob and they were allowing an unelected group of people to determine who could and who could not access a public building,” Pickle said. “Shame on the San Fernando police.”
Pickle received a text from Horvath’s staff telling her to leave since she was unable to enter the building. After receiving a police escort back to her car, she did so.
“They canceled the event and I can’t believe how they handled the situation,” Pickle said, referring to staff from the library and Horvath’s office. “This goes beyond hurt feelings. This is about civil rights and they shouldn’t have invited me down if they weren’t going to stand up for them.”

Questions emailed to L.A. County Library personnel, who oversee the San Fernando Library, were not immediately answered Thursday.
Pickle said she has attended about 50 drag story hour events, but this was the first canceled in person.
A story hour she was scheduled to appear at in Glendale last spring was canceled ahead of time, and protesters also disrupted another of her storybook hours in Sherman Oaks in April.
San Fernando Police Lt. Pete Aguirre said 10 officers were deployed to the library.

Aguirre said no arrests were made and no assaults or property damage were reported.
Aguirre said protesters began arriving at 10:30 a.m., with most staying until the event was terminated at noon. Others didn’t leave for another hour and engaged with a “small contingent of counter protesters.”
“We weren’t able to get to the venue, but we ensured that the performer was not assaulted in any way and that they were able to leave the venue unharmed,” Aguirre said.
White Supremacist ‘Active Club’ Provides Security for Moms for Liberty-Allied Mayoral Candidate

Members of the white supremacist Tennessee Active Club provided security for Gabrielle Hanson, a Moms for Liberty-backed alderman in Franklin, Tennessee, and current candidate for mayor, at a recent candidate forum, according to local reporter Phil Williams of News Channel 5.
The Tennessee Active Club is one of the “prominent cells” in a rapidly growing network of groups that promote violent white supremacist ideology and provide training in combat sports, according to a recent report by The Rolling Stone’s Tim Dickinson. Like other far-right groups, Active Clubs “recruit with narratives of white victimhood” and see themselves as militias in training for future violent conflict.
Earlier this year, SPLC reported that the Tennessee Active Club has been training above the Lewis Country Store in Nashville, whose owner Brad Lewis responded to the report by declaring on Telegram, “I’m not a cuckservative, I’m an actual literal Nazi.” This week, Lewis told reporter Williams that he is a friend of Hanson’s and that the Active Club members were on hand at the forum because Hanson had received credible threats.
Alderman Hanson was cheered on by the Williamson County Moms for Liberty chapter this year when she led an unsuccessful effort to prevent the city’s annual Pride celebration from being held. Robin Steenland, head of Williamson County Moms for Liberty chapter, portrayed the campaign to stop Pride as a battle between good and evil, a struggle against a “social change agenda” that seeks the “destruction” of family, Christianity, and America itself. The county M4L chapter has also complained about curricular materials that teach students about the civil rights movement and seahorses.
M4L chapter president Steenland is also founder and chair of Williamson Families PAC, which claims to support candidates “that reflect our family values and demonstrate integrity, wisdom, and service to the community.” Whatever the PAC means by family values or integrity did not prevent it from endorsing Hanson, who has, to be generous, a checkered relationship with telling the truth.
A few weeks ago, Hanson was exposed for using women’s social media posts to falsely portray them as supporters of her campaign—and then repeatedly lying about it. News Channel 5 also caught her lying about her previous use of an alias. Hanson supporters tried to prevent from reporter Phil Williams from attending a Sept. 25 forum.
Back in April, Hanson claimed to have “full knowledge” from an inside source that a shooting at a Nashville Christian school involved a scandalous “love triangle,” and she stood by her claims even when she was called out for lying about the shooting. Her statements led to an ethics investigation, but the city’s ethics commission concluded that her comments were protected by the First Amendment and did not violate city ordinances.
The mayoral election will be held on Oct. 24; early voting begins Wednesday, Oct. 4.
Some People Need To CALM DOWN
Brooklyn Library’s Drag Story Hour Gets Bomb Threat
So they are protecting children by … blowing them up with a bomb? See why the claim they are only saving children fails. This is not about children, but instead about their own bigotry and hates. They hate drag because they think it is the same as being transgender. They refused to accept that people can dress in any way they like to as long as the sexual organs are covered. But those people can’t allow people to live as they wish, instead they insist they must be allowed to dictate how everyone lives. They don’t like you wearing that, so you can not wear it. Think it will stop with just drag queens or trans people? Did they stop with abortion after their SCOTUS win? These people hated the idea of short skirts, short dresses, bikinis, or women outside the assigned gender roles these people have mandated. But in the case of the drag queen story hour, parents rights to raise children how you wish is limited only to maga / right wing parents. Tolerant and accepting parents don’t get a choice to raise their children this way because … well again the fundamentalist Christian moral police Taliban demand the right to control you and your children. Hugs
The Messenger reports:
A planned “Drag Story Hour” at a Brooklyn library was forced to move on Saturday morning after bomb threat were called into 911. Police officers, the bomb squad, a K-9 unit and emergency medical services responded to the threat phoned in by a male caller against the Cortelyou branch of the Brooklyn Public Library.
The library was evacuated, and a thorough search conducted, but no bomb was found, police said. The story hour, featuring a group of drag performers reading books to children, was moved to Connecticut Muffin, a nearby dessert and coffee shop.
The New York Post reports:
NYPD later confirmed that an email threat was sent to the branch from an unknown source in Buffalo alleging an explosive device was supposed to go off inside the site at 11:30 a.m. A male caller also phoned 911 about the threat, authorities added.
“It’s a shame, and it’s something that’s extremely dangerous,” fumed a parent of a 2-year-old girl who sat in on the reading. “These are children, and children just want to hear stories … It’s a shame how somebody just ruined it and threatened violence.”
Some more family values anti-LGBTQIA hating hypocrites
“Transgenderism, especially in kids, is a mental health disorder.” — Vivek Ramaswamy. This is false. Being transgender is not a mental health disorder.
Many transgender people experience gender dysphoria, or psychological distress as a result of the incongruence between their sex and their gender identity.
Gender dysphoria is a diagnosis in the psychiatric Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and can be given to children, adolescents or adults.

Some family value anti-LGBTQIA Lying hypocrites
So…
Stay out of his bedroom, but let him in ours?
Eat shit w/ your family values.
Rightwingers tried to stir outrage over trans teen winning homecoming queen. They failed miserably.
Beau of the Fifth Column often says the younger generations won’t tolerate the hate and bigotry of the ones pushing anti-LGBTQIA / racist ideas. Yes the right wants to remove all mention and safety for kids that are different and return to an assumed superiority of white people. But they are missing the point. It was like that in the past. In the 1950s our society was just like they are trying hard to return to. Yet we progressed. Social acceptance of people being different from each other and the right to live openly as themselves happened. The right thinks it is because they did not push back hard enough to stop it. The right thinks they should have used violence from the start.
But that is not true, there was always hard push back and violence by those in authority and by churches. Ask any gay kid growing up during those times. I grew up understanding I was gay in the time of Anita Bryant, who was the early version of the hate group started by Chaya Raichik’s Libs of TikTok. Think of the abuse the police dished out even into the late 1990s. I remember when Ron had the bar, we had to have an unbreakable material used for the windows because they were being broken as soon as they were repaired. We had to have a bunch of the bigger better fighters assisting people leaving to make sure no one was assaulted and beaten up by groups of haters. I well tell you, the most awesome thing I have ever seen was a lesbian kicking the ass of 3 redneck assholes who attacked a small gay guy leaving the bar. She taught them a lesson they did not soon forget. We fought back then and I honestly thought we were beyond that hate and society was a safe space for the LGBTQIA. Where LGBTQIA kids could be happy in schools knowing they were safe and accepted. But the haters are bringing it all back. We must not let them indoctrinate future generations into hate and bigotry. We must not let them drive kids back into the closet in fear and shame of who they are. We must not let them remove the LGBTQIA from society and public view. We are here and should be equal, we have our rights and they should be enforced for us. Hugs
Photo: ShutterstockAt Oak Park High School in Kansas City over the weekend, students elected a trans homecoming queen. Tristan Young bested four other nominees to take the crown.
And Libs of TikTok’s Chaya Raichik managed to find the only two parents who are mad about it.
“I’m appalled by NKC Schools’ continued support of the LGBT agenda,” whines one parent for Raichik in an email, referring to the North Kansas City School District.
“They not only indoctrinate children, but they are placing certain student populations over others.”
In another stilted statement from a second aggrieved parent, she writes: “As a woman, it breaks my heart to see these girls get passed over and a man stealing what is rightfully theirs.”
Then she adds, also as a woman, “I’m broken-hearted because I know the students voted for him.”
Raichik was clearly desperate to gin up the usual outrage over the student-led vote and failed miserably.
The queer-addled activist, who’s lately tried to refashion herself as an “independent journalist,” posted the “story” with a headline declaring, “Male crowned homecoming queen, beating out four other girls,” which clarified for trans supporters everywhere that Young is just one of the girls.
“Not the point but Chaya is writing at a sub-middle school level, lol” posted one amused commenter.
NKC Schools shared their congratulations for Young in a tweet with photos from the event.
In one, last year’s winner passes the sash to the new homecoming queen. In another, Young’s parents stand by beaming; her dad sports a Kansas City Chiefs Pride hat.
Young’s election in the revered high school ritual was met with a sense of betrayal by online hacks dismayed that a reliably red state like Missouri could harbor open-minded kids.
“Who’s to blame here?” whined transphobic 5th place finisher Riley Gaines, who tied with trans swimmer Lia Thomas in a collegiate meet last year.
Gaines tried sarcasm to make her poorly conceived point in on X: “So stunning & brave🤴🏻✨ Another reminder to all girls that men make the best women. I wonder if a female will win homecoming king or if it’s understood that both of these spots are reserved for males.”
The best reactions to the news of Young’s election were reserved for her supporters.
“Trans women have a biological advantage in being popular with their high school classmates now,” posted Media Matters’ Ari Drennen.
“Isn’t the Homecoming Queen usually elected by the students? Why does Chaya Raichik hate democracy?” @nikicaga asked.
And said Interpretive Dan @StanChips: “BREAKING: Kids are cool now.”
