TUCKER CARLSON (HOST): I don’t understand where the men are. Like where are the dads? You know, some teacher’s pushing sex values on your third grader why don’t you go in and thrash the teacher? Like this is an agent of the government pushing someone else’s values on your kid about sex, like where’s the pushback?
Carlson has made comments like this before. Last month, while defending Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill—which is now law—the Fox News host said that teachers who discuss gender identity with students “should be arrested” and “beaten up.”
The legislation’s passage came as many on the right have charged, deceptively, that it’s necessary to prevent “grooming” kids.
In response to Carlson, Vance criticized the “crazy lunatics” he deems responsible for the hypothetical scenario the Fox News host described. “I mean I agree with you [that] there should be a ton of pushback. I’m the father of three young kids and I would get enraged if I found out this was happening at my kids’ school,” Vance said.
Ohio House Republicans introduced an education bill this week that would prohibit teaching young students about sexual orientation or gender identity, similar to a divisive bill in Florida — dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill — that was signed by the governor in March.
The bill also targets what it calls “divisive” education about race, banning lessons about topics like critical race theory and the New York Times’ “1619 Project.”
The bill, sponsored by Representatives Mike Loychik and Jean Schmidt [photo], would prohibit schools from teaching, using or providing “any curriculum or instructional materials on sexual orientation or gender identity” for students in kindergarten through third grade.
The bill also goes a step further than the recently passed Florida law, forbidding Ohio public school educators in grades 4 through 12 from teaching or using “instructional materials on sexual orientation or gender identity in any manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.” The drafted bill language does not specify what “age-appropriate” or “developmentally appropriate” material might qualify.
Curriculum about gender identity and sexuality has no place in K-3 classrooms, period.
That’s why I just introduced a bill to ban curriculum about sexuality and gender identity until 3rd grade in Ohio.

Is this the time in the past the right wing dreams of taking the country? Is this their idea of the way things should be? The stereotypes drove me crazy, but it was actually funny to think that some people think families really were this way and they want to return to the ridged strict role models they think made people happy, not understanding those times were miserable for most people who had no say in their place in life. Enjoy.
Willy Rice, pastor of Calvary Church in Clearwater, Florida, and a candidate to become the next president of the Southern Baptist Convention, has removed a deacon from leadership, citing the denomination’s ban on individuals who have committed sexual abuse from church leadership roles.
Rice did not identify the deacon in the video. But other outlets identified the man as Jeff Ford [photo], a faith advisor to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis who serves as the CEO of Man Up and Go, an international nonprofit organization that inspires men to fight for the fatherless.
A December 2005 report in The Tampa Bay Times said when Ford was 27 and worked as a language arts teacher and an assistant football coach at J.W. Mitchell High School, he confessed to being in a relationship with an 18-year-old female student while he was married.
“It did not involve criminal charges, and he has never been identified by law as a sexual offender,” Rice said in a video posted on social media. “Nevertheless, it was a terrible sin, and it devastated people’s lives.”
Rice went on to say that the church leader had repented of his sins and had been open about their past. Eventually, after years of being a faithful church member, this person was made a deacon — a decision that Rice said he now regrets.
He said that recently he was confronted by someone outside of Calvary who knew the deacon’s backstory and questioned why he was in leadership.
A 27-year-old language arts teacher at J.W. Mitchell High School resigned this week after admitting to a sexual relationship with a female student.
Jeffrey Charles Ford, who worked as a teacher and an assistant football coach at the school since August 2003, called a school administrator on Sunday night to disclose his relationship with the 18-year-old student. He met with the administrator on Monday and resigned.
“I’m saddened by it. I’m shocked by it,” the school’s football coach, Scott Schmitz, said Thursday. “He’s a good person, he’s a great teacher, he’s an outstanding football coach, but he made a very wrong decision.”
In the video below, Ford calls for men to return to “authentic masculinity.” Like screwing high school girls, apparently.

Remember DeathSantis is pushing a don’t say gay bill and removing books for the schools that have any sexual content or LGBTQ+ characters but he hired a guy who had a sexual relationship with an 18 year old student in a school he was a teacher at. DeathSantis claims he needs to act to save the children from the libs and Democrats but who is the real threat to kids in schools?
If they are not of straight White Anglo Saxon Protestant stock, or something similar, Republicans are terrified of them. I thought the only news story recently was that the far right was annoyed beyond belief that Disney was “normalizing LGTBQ” and recognizing that there are more families than the typical white family with a father, mother, and two children. Nobody, including Disney is afraid of or disdainful of traditional families. Accepting non-traditional families and treating them with respect TAKES NOTHING away from traditional families!!!! The fear is only coming from the ones who want want to go back to the days when all they saw was people who looked like, sounded like and worshiped just like them — with everyone else hidden in the shadows.
It looks like Mayor Adams succeeded in getting under the skin of Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis over his new “Don’t Say Gay” law. The spokeswoman for DeSantis has tweeted more than a dozen times deriding Adams’ digital ad campaign urging Floridians to move to New York City “where you can say whatever you want.”
“If anyone is so opposed to @GovRonDeSantis defending parental rights that they leave for a crime-ridden dystopia, Florida will be better off without them,” Christina Pushaw tweeted in response to Adams. “Do the humanitarian thing, Mayor Adams! Pay for their flights and moving trucks to NYC!” Pushaw tweeted.
Yesterday Pushaw called for a Hungary-style nationwide referendum aginst LGBTQ rights.
DOZENS of people in Florida, of all orientations, oppose parental rights in education and support K-3 gender theory instruction.

If anyone is so opposed to @GovRonDeSantis defending parental rights that they leave for a crime-ridden dystopia, Florida will be better off without them. Countless NYers have moved here since the pandemic. I doubt many will leave due to our lack of K-3 gender theory instruction. pic.twitter.com/TUBGQ7O7QO

Groomer is a “slur” now, according to this Daily Beast journalist.
Hey Matt, please educate me: what’s the politically correct term for an adult who advocates for instructing young children about concepts like “pansexual” & “genderfluid” while keeping secrets from their parents? https://t.co/m4PL2Bjf5n
