Sorry I have been gone all day yesterday and most of today. Please let me explain.

So the other day I was so tired I couldn’t function.  Ron got home after driving straight through to get home that night, so I was up until midnight after getting up at 3 am the morning before.   So I was in no shape to blog.  So I spent the day with my hubby after he got home from being on a long trip to bury his brother and seeing his family.  Then I got up this morning at 3 am, and after feeding the cats I went on the MS site I always check first.  I have been sharing and helping others on the site and have started to get quite a few doing private chats with me.  They say I am kind, caring, and nice to talk to … I will take it.  

But just before I was to get off there and go to my blog, a guy showed up blaming his once … unwanted … blow job from a man overturning his entire life and now he is anti gay people, rainbow flags, pride, and any showing of gays in society because they are all abusers and child molesters.  He went on at length about how abusive and dysfunctional gay people were, how they were flaunting themselves in an abusive way in society, so on and so on.  Remember he is in a site for males abused as children sexually and in other ways.  

Anyone who knows me knows I can not resist such shit.  He threatened right in his first post that if people said he needed therapy, he was bi or searching, or that he was a bigot then he was gone.  I was like OK.  I answered every paragraph he wrote, telling him he needed help professionally on some, telling him that because he says he now had thoughts of sex with men that he might be seeking and should again talk to professionals about it, as that is not the way sexual assaults work.  One forced blow job doesn’t make a man who only thought of women before gay.  I called out his bigotry when he posted how gays were now in schools with rainbow stickers to make kids gay.  I even outright asked him if he was a troll.   We will see.  But I have been there on that site since basically 3 am to now nearly 1 pm.   I am going to skip posts and go right to comments.  Again like always if I missed your comment because it dropped off the list please resubmit it, I will do my best to reply.   Hugs Scottie

I did not post the full X / tweets about Kamal nor about Pete because they are exceedingly racist, bigoted and crude, a typical maga response to anything not straight cis white.  I am sick of these people that tRump enabled and the sooner we beat tRump soundly and put his people back under their rocks they crawled out from for good the better for the US.  But seriously if this racist bigotry is the best they can do, we already won.   Hugs.  Scottie

Republican Missouri secretary of state candidate Valentina Gomez just went on an unhinged rant attacking Vice President Kamala Harris on X, where she called her a “little wh*re,” as conservatives posted misogynist memes and jokes about Harris.

“Kamala Harris slept her way to the top, and Tulsi Gabbard already destroyed and exposed her in 2020. Kamala is just another DEI hire, and President Trump is going to eat her alive,” she said in a video.

She could become president. Here’s a closer look at her history on LGBTQ+ stances.

“Kamala Haris is a little wh*re,” Gomez wrote when posting her video. [Update: The X post was put on “limited” visibility by X on July 22, 2024, hours after this article was published.]

The comment regarding Harris allegedly having sex to advance her career, alongside the “little wh*re” comment, reflects recent bouts of misogyny against the vice president in an attempt to discredit her. Harris is the first woman to ever be vice president of the United States and could be the first woman president of the country.

The claim has also notably been spread by far-right figurehead Matt Walsh, who said on X,  “Kamala Harris got her start in politics by sleeping with Willie Brown. She became Vice President because Biden needed a non-white female on the ticket… She’s made a career out of begging for hand outs from powerful men. A thoroughly unimpressive human being.”

 

These claims refer to a short relationship Harris had with former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown 30 years ago, before he became mayor. There is no evidence that she only had a relationship with him to bolster her career. In a Reuters fact check, both Harris and Brown disputed that this relationship led anywhere and instead regarded it as largely irrelevant.

Other users attacked her as a “side chick” of Brown, referring to the fact that Brown was technically married during his time dating Harris. However, Brown was separated from his wife, making this claim misleading at best.

 

Other conservatives, though, just posted gross memes about Harris that sexualized her, showing both sexism and misogynoir, or the combination of sexism and racism directed at Black women.

This is seen with one post comparing Harris to the “Hawk Tuah” girl, someone known in a viral meme about engaging in fellatio.

 

One X user continued these claims, referring to her as “arm candy” for reality TV show host Montel Williams. The two briefly dated in 2001, however Williams has said since that he has “great respect for Sen. Harris.”

 

Right-wing commentator Konstantin Kisin referred to her as a “vagina of colour,” and another user referred to her and out Transportation Secretary – and possible running mate – Pete Buttigieg as the “blowjob ticket,” reflecting both misogyny and homophobia.

 

One political cartoonist made a comic of Harris giving fellatio to the Washington Monument, while another user made a post suggesting Harris wants to perform sexual acts on enough voters to get elected.

 

Another user documented multiple accounts making memes of Harris engaging in sexual acts to various different presidential logos.

Once prominent and now largely forgotten alt-right icon and “ex-gay troll” Milo Yiannopoulos made a post encouraging people to rely on him for objectification of Harris.

 

The attacks against Harris have been reflected in merchandise made about her. One shirt being sold says “Joe and the Hoe Gotta Goe,” a slogan that’s parroted in other right-wing merchandise that, while not officially endorsed by the GOP, has nevertheless been prominent among the Republican voter base

Gomez’s claim about former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (I-HI) attacking Harris is rooted in an old political debate where Gabbard criticized Harris’s history as California’s attorney general, pointing out her thousands of convictions of people who used cannabis. Additionally, Gabbard criticized Harris’s handling of people on death row, alleging that Harris could have done much more to protect innocent individuals.

This claim reflects the widespread public concern about Harris’s history as a prosecutor with many likening the candidate to a corrupt police officer. This is further reflected in criticism about her denying a trans woman gender-affirming care while in prison. She has since walked back on this decision.

Nevertheless, the misogyny reflected among right-wing criticisms largely ignores any critiques of her policy positions and instead aims to reflect on her sexual and romantic history. This neglects her substance as a person and a candidate and swipes aside any debates about her merit as a candidate. Notably, these types of posts are rarely directed at male candidates.

Grindr Dating App Crashes in Milwaukee During RNC: Everything We Know

Love – or at least a spike of users on the gay dating app Grindr – was reportedly in the Milwaukee air this week while the Republican National Convention was in town.

Over 1,000 users reported a Grindr outage in the Milwaukee area around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Downdetector, a website that collects online service status information.

 

The Grindr app also allegedly experienced problems in the Cream City on Thursday— the fourth and final day of the RNC — as well as in Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York. However, Grindr’s official status updates show there hasn’t been an outage since May.

Nevertheless, a Grindr user who did not want to be identified told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he noticed an influx of anonymous users this week.

“On any given day, you’ll go on there and see a headless torso or blank profile,” the man told the outlet Thursday.

The source explained that a headless photo on someone’s Grindr profile usually means the person is looking for a fling and not a relationship. On a normal day, the Grindr user said he usually comes across around 10 users who don’t show their face, but claimed he stopped counting at 50 anonymous profiles when he checked the app Thursday.

 

Newsweek has contacted Grindr for comment but has not heard back.

The buzz surrounding allegedly increased Grindr traffic in Milwaukee rapidly spread on social media. Even ex-Congressman Geroge Santos, who said he met his husband on Grindr, got involved.

“Grindr executives are calling the RNC convention the Grindr Superbowl,” Santos said in a video posted Wednesday.

“Let me tell you something: just come out of the closet boys. Come on, it’s fun. You can be gay and conservative,” he added. “But look, Grindr is already outing you anyway based on the hits and guess who is in town? It’s all you conservatives.”

This wouldn’t be the first time Grindr saw increased traffic in cities hosting the RNC. In 2016, the Cleveland area saw a 66% increase in Grindr traffic while the convention was in town, according to a Vice article. Comparatively, Grindr hotspots like Times Square, Capitol Hill, Disneyland, and South Beach, Florida did not see any comparable traffic increase at that time.

 

This trend isn’t just exclusive to the Republican convention, either, according to the same Vice article. Grindr saw a reported 148% increase in traffic around Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Arena during the week of the 2016 DNC.

CNN HOST PAMELA BROWN: “You’re saying that the teaching of the Bible in the classroom is a must, that every teacher must accept that. The bible includes beheading, rape, and incest. Do you support teaching children about those topics?”

RYAN WALTERS: “I support teaching children our history accurately and what we’ve seen is the radical left and the teachers’ union have driven the bible out of schools.

“You can’t talk about our rights coming from God, as Thomas Jefferson referenced, you can’t talk about Abraham Lincoln talking about being on God’s side in what he does and that inspires him?

“You can’t talk about the civil rights movement and Martin Luther King Jr., who routinely referenced examples from the bible, including from a “Letter from Birmingham Jail”?

“I’m doing the things I’m doing is because of the tenets taught to me by the bible, so it’s essential that our kids understand our history and we’re going to put it back in and the left is going to continue to try to censor our history. Well, we’re not gonna allow it here in Oklahoma.”

BROWN: “Okay, you didn’t answer my question. We’re going to get to the history and everything, and by the way, Thomas Jefferson, he advocated for freedom of religion, actually not the establishment of a religion for one, but are you okay with all teachings of the Bible? If you want to bring it back into the classroom, rape, incest, beheading. Is that acceptable to you?”

WALTERS: “Again, I’ll answer your question, you might not like to answer, but it is the answer. It is our history is referenced, the bible was referenced multiple times in American history. It had a profound influence on American history.

“It was the bestselling book in American history, to not teach that in the classroom is academic malpractice. Our kids have to understand our history and we’re not going to hide that from them.”

BROWN: “Okay, so will you allow teachers to teach all aspects of the Bible? How are teachers supposed to know what of the bible to teach and what of the Bible not to teach? It’s a simple question, given the fact that the bible includes, also, you know, pornographic material, something you’ve come out against and actually took a teaching certificate away from a teacher for giving access to students—  pornographic material. That’s in the bible.”

WALTERS: “Yeah, let me be crystal clear. The bible is not on the same plane as Gender Queer and Flamer. These are pornography, the bible is a book that was referenced throughout American history.

“We have academic standards that tell our teachers that you are to talk about the bible in reference to the Mayflower Compact, “Letter from a Birmingham Jail,” the Declaration of Independence, so these are all very clear.

“It’s very clear from primary sources that these individuals reference history— in our history, they referenced the bible. So look, when it’s historically accurate, we’re absolutely going to include that.

“I mean, think about how absurd it would be to teach about the Pilgrims if you don’t mention their intention for moving to the New World, it’s crucial and we’re not gonna allow the radical left to continue to push a false history on our kids that said that faith played no role, well, just read the history. It’s clearly there.”

The Bible isn’t history, ours, or anyone else’s. We teach history, including the use of the Bible by historical personages by reading their primary documents. Teach the Mayflower Compact, teach the Declaration of Independence, teach the Letters from the Birmingham Jail, teach On Walden Pond, teach a wide variety of English literature that uses Biblical themes, none of which is teaching “from” the Bible, nor teaching the “full story” of the Bible.

Exactly, the Bible is a tribal scrap book from the bronze age. It contains, myths, legends from various traditions. laws, and strategically placed and conveniently discovered historical forgeries. In our 8th grade Ancient Semitic History class we began learning what the various sources from specific books and verses were. It included spending a lot of time with Gilgamesh and Enkidu before reading the Song of Solomon.

It was an inoculation against the fundamentalism prevalent in Utah.

Since you can’t really compare the Babble with anything peer reviewed or that can be otherwise corroborated factually, the implication here that using the Babble to teach history to children “accurately” is ludicrous.

Even his attempt to tie the Babble to early American history is pushing the envelope, by a LOT. The hubris alone of automatically implying that a mention of Gawd somehow means specifically the Gawd referred to in his Babble is breathtaking.

Oh yes, go ahead and teach kids how they were religious bigots who thought the Dutch were corrupting their youth and so set sail to establish an intolerant theocracy (see how the puritans treated Quakers as just one example).

Sorry to everyone, but not a productive day

After being up over 24 hours and barely able to function I had gone to bed yesterday about 6 pm.  I stumbled through eating a grand supper Ron made me.

I ate as much as I could but I was so tired that I ate the potatoes and half the chicken with apple cinnamon dressing.  I started by shaving off the edges and working towards the center.  I used different sauces he offered me.  But with the medications I had to take and being so tired … I finally handed the plate back to him.  He is so grand he praised me for eating what I did and when I offered to help clean up he gave me a lot of hugs and love, and told me just to go to bed.  Which I did.  But I loved what I did eat.  

Sadly the steroids have kicked into high gear and my blood sugars are very high while I only slept for a few hours.  I woke at around midnight after hours of being in and out, but the first few hours I slept hard.  Then by 1:30 I was a wake I was so awake I couldn’t lay in the bed, but was tossing and turning and bothering both Ron and the cat.  So by 2 am I got out of bed.  But to tell the truth I was unable to concentrate, I had 3 hours of sleep after 24 plus hours awake.  But I struggled to read and do stuff.

So by passing the pity me stupidity of my whining, lets get to what I really want to say.  I watched videos, I answered emails, and went on the MS survivors site I love and answered comments / replies to me and read a lot of posts and replied to them.  I really appreciate the site.  It has helped me deal and understand my own abuse and it is full of people like me, people who were also abused.  Soon I am going to write about a punishment I was subjected to as a small child to make me compliant or just to see me in as much pain as possible.  It involves rubbing alcohol.  But I have to be in a safe mind set because it still triggers me after more 5 decades later.  The cruelty of those that could think of and do to a 4 to 7 year old.  Just think … rubbing alcohol and sensitive boy parts. And to make the coming pain more hurtful.  For those that wonder yes the abuse, the memories never go away some fade but others get stronger and more vivid until I deal with them.  This is becoming one of those.  But now I am going to try to do the kitchen dishes, Ron has gone for his nap after he and I talked major structural changes on our bedroom and the hallway to it.  I don’t know if I will get to the blog anymore today, but the last few days I caught up enough I shouldn’t lose any wonderful things you grand people left for me.  Hugs, loves, Scottie
