The January 6 Committee, that congressional group investigating the attack on the Capitol committed by white nationalist Trump supporters, has subpoenaed congressman Jim Jordan.

Jim Jordan is that Republican who uses congressional hearings to protect Trump. When he questions witnesses, he doesn’t allow them to answer. He uses his time to make accusations. When he questions witnesses on his side, he leads them with his fake questions. He spends all his time deflecting for Donald Trump. And let’s not forget his lying and deflecting to cover up the Ohio State wrestling sex abuse scandal.

Even now, he’s using a misplaced period to argue the committee is a sham.

Jim Jordan sent a text to Trump’s White House chief-of-staff arguing how vice-president (sic) Mike Pence should throw out electoral votes.

Is this a trend now? Any time one of these goons shoots a black person or people at a Black Lives Matter protest, you’ll get off if you cry in court? White tears can be very powerful with white jurors and white judges…even if there aren’t any actual tears.

Kim Potter, a Brooklyn Center, Minnesota cop (since resigned), killed Daunte Wright, an unarmed black man, with her Glock pistol, claiming she confused it with her taser. The jury is now deliberating verdicts on two charges of manslaughter. That’s basically two charges of oops, you killed someone. Maybe you should be able to go home.

The cops pulled Wright over because of an expired license plate, and an air freshener hanging from his rearview mirror. Driving with an air freshener dangling from a rearview mirror is illegal in Minnesota, but I bet you’ve never heard of a white person being stopped…

Well, Christmas is almost upon us, and I haven’t posted for a couple of months. Sheesh.

I like to post once a week. Not only does it keep me moving and thinking, but for my few dedicated readers you have something regular coming your way. In the past two months, this has not been the case. Covid, funerals, lots of moving pieces in my life, and the holidays themselves have kept me from dedicating any time to this platform.

So as we enter into this holiest of holy seasons (the final weeks of the regular NFL season), let us also remember that there is a reason for the season. That reason is axial tilt.

Joe Manchin: “It’s all about me, Me, ME!”

From Tiger Beat on the Potomac (thanks Charlie!) morning email thingie that confirms what we suspected:

RAKING IN THE DOUGH — Manchin’s political action committee saw an uptick in corporate contributions ahead of his announcement that he would not vote for BBB, according to CNBC’s Brian Schwartz and Jacob Pramuk. “Manchin’s leadership PAC, Country Roads, received 17 contributions from corporations in October and 19 last month. None of the four months prior to October saw as many corporate contributions.” Some of the donors included American Express, Goldman Sachs, Lockheed Martin and insurance companies like UnitedHealth Group and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

I had this idea a couple months ago and put it aside. I may have even included it in one of my batches of roughs, so it’s possible you’ve already seen this idea. But after passing it over, I decided to save it for another day. I knew it was going to come up. I knew one of the Trump goons would testify and invoke his Fifth Amendment rights. Yesterday, that happened.

First, in case you’re a dum-dum, then you need to know what rights and protections are included in the Fifth Amendment. There are five. It gives you the right to a fair trial. It gives you the right to a jury trial. It protects you from double jeopardy (can’t be tried for the same crime twice). It protects you from the government taking your property without compensation. Finally, it protects you from self-incrimination.

Joe Manchin is going to destroy the Build Back Better Bill. After negotiating with President Joe Biden all week on the Build Back Better legislation, Manchin has now said no. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said his comments “are at odds with his discussions this week with the President, with White House staff, and with his own public utterances.”

Manchin says he can’t support the bill because of inflation, rising debt and a mismatch between the package’s 10-year funding and its shorter-term programs. The bill doesn’t have anything to do with inflation or the rising debt. It’s to be paid over ten years, by taking away “some” of the tax cuts Trump gave to billionaires, with many of the programs lasting beyond a decade. Manchin, just like his nimrod Democratic colleague in the Senate, Kyrsten Sinema, is saying no just because they like to say “no.” It gives them power…
