FBI: Violent Crime And Murder Rate Down Across US

CNN reports:

Violent crime dropped by more than 15% in the United States during the first three months of 2024, according to statistics released Monday by the FBI.

The new numbers show violent crime from January to March dropped 15.2% compared to the same period in 2023, while murders fell 26.4% and reported rapes decreased by 25.7%. Aggravated assaults decreased during that period when compared to last year by 12.5%, according to the data, while robberies fell 17.8%.

Meanwhile, property crime went down 15.1% in the first three months of this year. Burglaries dropped 16.7%, while motor vehicle theft decreased by 17.3%. The declines in violent and property crimes were seen in every region of the US.

Anyone have that clip of Gingrich being confronted with lower crime numbers, only to retort that people feel like crime is going up? Thanks, of course, to Fox and others constantly screeching about the higher crime rate (which doesn’t exist) to get people afraid and angry, to get them voting GOP. While I agree with Shapiro’s thinking in general, he lost me at “greatest country on Earth.” The U.S. is a great nation, and deserves allegiance. But it’s not the greatest on Earth. We’ve got problems. We’ve always had problems. Eugene Robinson of The Washington Post has done a piece entitled “Is Trump Okay?” “Okay” in the sense of “mentally-well.”

Trump’s recent campaign rally speeches have gone beyond standard Trump rhetorical garbage; they’ve been largely incoherent. He rambles on with one non sequitur after another. His recent rally tirade concerning battery-powered boats and sharks and stuff, just one example.

He may very well be losing it.

We can assume Trump’s handlers (or at least the people who attempt to handle him) know that he’s not capable of remaining coherent away from a teleprompter.

The handlers must be shitting bricks with respect to the prospect of Trump on live TV without a teleprompter.

Trump may indeed want more debates, if they are on his terms at least, but I wouldn’t take his calls for more debates at face value. He also insisted he wanted to testify at his trial. Who knows?

He did sit out all of the Republican primary debates because he assumed, rightly, there was no benefit for him to debate. He may think debating Biden will be good for him (and it could be, depending on Biden’s performance) and therefore he wants to do it, but I don’t take his insistence that he wants more debates any more at face value than his insistence that he’d love to testify.

“May well be”? Trump has been, literally, “losing it” for years. His brain is, right out loud and in public, turning to mush. The stress of his criminal trials is speeding up the process, I think. Eugene Robinson is being far too kind. Trump is, right this minute, unfit for any office of any sort.

I hope his brain is a total loss before November. We, the People, can’t let him back into the White House. VOTE BLUE!

If he keeps telling his rally-goers, over and over, that story about electric motorboats and sharks and how he’d rather be electrocuted than eaten by a shark, then telling his faithful that he doesn’t care about them, just their votes, it may not be such a hard sell by November. Even they have to see how far gone he is, eventually (I hope).

I was surprised a bit that Trump said he just wants the votes of people he doesn’t care about…on the other hand, this is how I and many other people viewed Trump years ago. He promises everything and doesn’t deliver, plus he hates his base.

Some of the rally goers in Nevada who went to see TFG left early because they were bored hearing the same things he said in 2020 and 2016. Michael Cohen said TFG never changes anything he says or does because he is an unhinged creature of habit.

When has TFG ever say what he wants to do for the country and Americans in the future except meandering on and on how this country is a complete failure? He even said that he did not care about his fan-base except he wants their vote.

He always complains he is the victim when in fact he keeps doing crimes. He did this to himself except he never takes any responsibility and blames others for his misfortune.

I hope more and more of his fans are finally seeing who he truly is, and they are very much disillusioned with him. May be they will wake up from his nonsensical ramblings and vote for Biden.

About 44% of Independents will vote for Biden, and I am sure millions of women are mad as hell because what the GOP and him keeps doing to women’s healthcare after Roe v. Wade was appealed by the Supreme Court. Let’s hope Judge Merchan will put him in jail for a long time on July 11th, 2024.

Again she out did herself.  She talks about the tRump being a cult leader with a new song as a chosen one while she lists off his horrible choices.  Definitely a to watch video.   

Side note not related to the video, my steroids injects kicked in, after a great night of sleep the first two nights with limited pain,  I spent last night unable to even think of sleep.  Finally my spouse helped me with some relief but I only got about 3.5 hours.  

This morning when I got up I went right to my blog.  I had to eat I was starved so I had a leftover grilled hot dog and grilled hamburger from the night before.  Ron had planned on making a beef stew today which he is working on and smells grand.  But I was so crazed with hunger a bit ago at 2:30 PM (I got up at 5 am and ate at 5:30 am)  that I begged him to help me, so he made me a large salad, which I love and crave salads, we don’t know why.  I do have an issue with anemia they once said was to my large bones not making enough red blood cells, but I have not been to low in a while.  So he made this large salad and as soon as I started to eat it my cravings stopped and I could think again.  I returned to being human.  I was denied food as a child and even was hospitalized for malnutrition,  so when I get that hungry I get frantic and desperate.  I just hope now after a wonderful salad I will be able to eat his grand stew.  Now to the video.  Hugs.  Scottie

This is a grand video.  Wow, she tells it like it is, pulling no punches.  She talks about how Boebert went to NY where she was not invited to give support for a convicted criminal, yet wont even help her son.  Yes the boy that impregnated a teenage girl while he was almost an adult.  She and her husband are worth millions yet the boy stands there in court alone telling the judge he can not pay for an attorney.  So she rushes to provide cover and support to tRump who ignored her and did not invite her yet also ignores her own son.  This is the family values of the trump cult party that use to be the republican party.
