    Seriously, though, us oldsters do need to take precautions (which we have) because the ol’ body ain’t what it used to be. The hardest thing for us has been our self-restrictions on dining out. It’s an activity we both love, but are simply not comfortable with the idea, no matter how many precautions are in place.

I posted this because yesterday I got into an argument with an anti-vaxxer that covid was nothing, it was a fake hype by the government that he could prove because the number of overall deaths had not gone up, they had just take then numbers of other deaths and labeled them Covid. When I demanded to see his sources he claimed it was the CDC but wouldn’t give me a link. I knew it was more misleading right wing media so I looked it up. I informed him the truth was the deaths had gone up 17%. I broke down the numbers further and provided a source. I have not heard back from him. Some of these right wing cartoon commenters are parrots for Fox or Breitbart.

      I understand the eating out thing. It is not the same going and getting the stuff and bring it home. We also miss eating out. They are saying now that we will just have to live with the Coronavirus now, the window for killing it off was missed. That will mean always wearing masks in doors with others we don’t normally be around, like grocery stores and indoor theaters, places like that. Social distancing which will make it hard for small places to seat enough people. Regular booster shots. All because tRump got his feelings hurt and made it a loyalty test to not get vaccinated and to not wear masks. Because the Republican party became a cult run by a complete moron. We are getting more to the idea of going out to stores where we know we can keep our distance and we wear masks. Hugs

      1. I think “forever masks” is the hardest thing to accept. But then, as is the case most everywhere, there are those who didn’t and won’t, which means the rest of us do and will. Dammit!

  3. I am sure we have survived by trying to follow all the recommended guidelines. That and a couple of kids who try to keep us hemmed up in the house. But they have good reasons. Age, lung problems, and I had to get a pacemaker in July. We also have that element who refuse to wear masks and every week or two we have a surge of cases. Troglodytes. Non-placental.

    Eating out. That is one of the most frequent complaints from just about everybody.

    I wish we had a good taco stand or a geedunk truck. No. I don’t ‘need’ gedunks, but…

  4. Hello Cagjr. We love tacos. The reports I am seeing seems to suggest this will be a seasonal virus that we will live with like the flu. But to get to that point where there is only the occasional flareups will require more people to be vaccinated and more people respecting the virus. We will need yearly vaccinations and will have to wear masks when in crowded inside places. But once people get over the refusing to get vaccines I think this will be do able. I hope so because that seems to be the only way we are getting back to what we thought of as normal. Hugs
