Homophobic “Hate Preacher” Matt Powell Thinks Dinosaurs Prove Creationism.

Matt Powell first came to my attention when he was in his first year of bible college after being home schooled and was adamantly and loudly preaching that atheists were only people that stayed home on their mother’s couch playing video games.   He took this fame online to atheist blogs where he stated firmly with no exceptions that the government needed to kill gay people.  All those gays needed to be put to death because that was what god said.   He spent a year trying to defend that stance, claiming it was not hate or bigotry and he himself did not want to kill the gays just that the government had to do it because the bible said so.   Well then Matt got himself a full head of steam and them attacked others of his own circle he felt were not godly enough.   Then he decided he had to give tutorials on why evolution was wrong even though he has no educational back ground to even understand the concept.   But he has given lots of YouTube creators tons of material with his assertions like the one where he claimed a picture of a Pterodactyl with confederate civil war soldiers was proof that dinosaurs lived with man and that the earth was young.   Yes I would have thought at this point he was putting people on and mocking them, but nope, young Matt was a true believer.   When he started out and was so anti-gay many thought he was gay himself, to disprove that he got himself a woman and they started right away to having babies.   But I guess things were not working out so Matt almost right out of school moved himself to Kent Hovind’s compound to take over old Kents delusions online.   Matt looks pretty worn in his latest videos.     The Creaky Blinder is a YouTuber from Wales who started out debunking flat earthers.   He has branched out and, in this video, he again takes on Matt Powell.   I enjoy Creaky’s humor and funny delivery.   He is a joy to watch as his goal really is to give humor to the debunking.    He has a lot of funny videos so look over his work to see if a subject interest you.   I have been following him from when he started with just a web cam to now when he has a really impressive set up.   Let me know what you think.   Scottie

  1. OK, I tried … but like SO MANY videos made by individuals, they prattle on and on to “prove their point.” Sometimes what they say is good and has substance (Brian Cohen), but most of them are simply expressing their opinion of something. Yes, this guy presented some “facts,” but how many people even knew what he was talking about?

Sorry, Scottie. I’m simply not a video fan.

    1. Nan it is OK if you don’t watch the videos, but you missed the point of this one. The point was that Creaky Blinder is funny. I don’t watch all his stuff because he started in flat earth debunking and that gets old after a while. How much new material can you get from the same subject? He has since branched out to other subjects. His point is not really to debunk the person that is his subject, it is how he mocks and talks about them while doing it. He even admits he is not an expert on a lot of the subjects he gets into but it is how he delivers his rebuttals, that is why I watch.

Don’t get me wrong Matt Powell is a complete tool and asshole. He is so uneducated yet thinks he is the expert that he is the perfect Dunning-Kruger example. And while I first used to get angry at him, I now feel sad for the life he seems to have ahead of him. Because of his delusional belief in the god / bible that he has been taught since childhood he has gone ever deeper in to the grift that Kent Hovind is selling. Scottie

    1. Hello Ten Bears. Don’t laugh but home schooled Matt may just think the Flintstones was a documentary. At first I thought he was a college aged really immature kid who was trying to impress the preachers at the bible school he was in. He was so forceful about stuff he knew nothing about. He made up stupid assertions he shouted in raised voice at the congregation. Turned out the more he talked you realized he was just a stupid bigot. When he first came on the scene all the second tier atheist youtubers wanted him on their shows. And he would go on about how the government had to kill the gays, and how the US needed to go back to the theocracy it was started as. He believed that stuff as much as any guy who went all his life in a bubble of his religion. He was surprised the rest of us did not understand how clear it was and agree. Then he became a bitter twit and more deceptive and now outright grifting. Oh well. Religion has claimed another body to throw on the pile. Scottie

      1. OK, I understand. I guess a lot of it has to do with the fact I’m just not “into” videos like you are so when you post one like this, I don’t “get it” because I take it seriously. Yes, you did mention his “humor” but again, since I’m not the least bit familiar with the guy, it went over my head.

        1. Hello Nan. I try to spread my watching out into different topics. Ron wants me to watch less news and politics and more just fun stuff on Netflix and other places. But General TV shows really don’t interest me like the news or science / debunking shows do. It is something I hope to break this year. And I will be spending less time online as I move into doing other needed things. Scottie

  2. Less time online??? Say it isn’t so! What would a blog-day be without Scottie posts???

I understand Ron’s POV, but at the same time, politics is your passion. How would he feel if he never got to pick up a hammer and nails again and spent his whole day in front of a TV? Bleh! 😖

    1. Hello Nan. Ron is in day five of a plumbing disaster. I showed him your comment and he wanted me to tell you how he really would love some time without needing his tools. I understand his frustration, but I know he couldn’t go a week not trying to fix or change something. The plumbing issue started when he went to fix a defective mixing valve in the unused guest shower. The shower has not been used for five years or more. When he ran water to test the new valve the drain was plugged. Two days using different size snakes and bottles of Drano with no change. Ron took up the bathroom floor to get to the drain through a hatch he had installed when he built the guest bathroom. He then found that the skinny helper had run the pipes right under the hatch so Ron had to cut them and run them around the hatch. Found the 18 inch long solid blockage. Snaked it out to the main line, which when tested ran clear. But just before he closed the hatch one of the hot water lines let go so he had to fix that. When he went to wash up in the main bathroom he found that when he snaked clear the main line, he somehow plugged the sink line in our bathroom. Another day in trying to fix that. He tried to snake it with no luck. So he tried to get under the house to get to it. None of the accesses allow him access to the sink drain line due to the pipes in the way and the small amount of room for a large guy to crawl through. He is going to start tomorrow digging out a path under the house to reach the pipes, but he will have to pick a spot because we can not let digging varmints see a way under the house to nest. I have helped where I can but in truth there is little I can do and less he will let me. 😀😎. Scottie
