Hello Nan. We are the things that terrify us when we advance beyond them as a species. I am hearing people say that if the western powers do not step in to stop it they are complicit. Not sure I agree with that. But on the other hand the US and the UN have now called what is happening a war crime and started investigations. Do we just investigate and then write a report to be filed away with no responsibility for any of it? Do we do the equivalent of handing a person in a hurricane an umbrella? Take this example. Poland has taken in almost 3 million Ukrainians refugees. That little country. The US is making a big deal of taking 100,000 only after they are vetted. This country is huge, people have no idea. We could take in millions and lose them inside the country and not feel them. That is what drives me nuts. The right wing propaganda of the country is full we cannot handle anymore. The idea that all immigrants are bad is a hype from the right to protect their fragile white majority superiority feelings. If the west doesn’t intervene to stop the genocide did we mean it when we said never again. The driving of the Ukrainians from their lands and homes to give it to others is called ethnic cleansing. So what responsibility do we have? That is the question.
