Thank you. This is a really important subject I have followed for a decade. The man shouldn’t have been prosecuted nor convicted. But as one judge said, innocence is not a reason to over turn a conviction.

Do you get the newsletters from ILPDC, Scottie? I got on their list when I signed an Amnesty letter about Peltier, way back when Bill Clinton was president. ILPDC doesn’t have a lot of money, nor do we, so I feel badly about that, but we do all we can with letters and the occasional call. It just seems like more torture to keep him in prison any longer when he’s in such ill health.

Hello Ali. I don’t think so. If you find articles you want me to look into, send me the links. I got interested in Peltier’s case when I was into the Lakota tribe stuff. For a decade or so I followed them and their legal struggles. I somehow stopped getting the newsletters and lost interest.
I agree. It was a wrongful conviction and was politically driven due to bigotry. I just wish people in the US could see how bias and political the justice system in the US is. I think the Jan 6th prosecutions are showing that the justice system goes after and hammers the lower income powerless but gives a pass to the wealthy and powerful. I mean just look at how many times Madison Cawthorn has been caught speeding with a suspended license and also trying to take a loaded handgun onto airplanes. He gets told don’t do it again, we would be in jail awaiting trial.
