A new Supreme Court ruling reversed a precedent that gives even more power to federal agents, especially Border Patrol agents, by limiting civilians’ abilities to sue agents for abusing their Fourth Amendment privacy rights. Now, Border Patrol agents can pretty much ignore the Fourth Amendment when acting out their duties which has far-reaching implications, since civilians cannot sue the agency for monetary compensation for damages involved in violations of the Fourth Amendment and can easily be applied to other federal agencies. Cenk Uygur and Adrienne Lawrence discuss on The Young Turks.
“In a 6-to-3 vote, the Supreme Court ruled that border agents may unconstitutionally enter a person’s home without a warrant and assault him and … federal courts are powerless to do anything about it.
Hello Roger. Yes. The thing is the old SCOTUS were people orientated. They gave more importance to the people than to police or corporations. The new SCOTUS is from the federalist society and they are 100% for the businesses / corporations / profit. Gorsuch once famously ruled a man should have stayed with a disabled trailer and FROZE TO DEATH rather than disobey the companies orders by leaving to save his life. That is the new world we live in; the US is run by big money businesses / corporations / the wealthy. They buy the elected office holders, then they get all the rules and laws changed to support them over / against the public. All the laws / rules / court rulings are now in favor of profit. Not how it helps the people or supports the right in the constitution but how it helps create more profit. Profit was never mentioned in the constitution, but it has become the driving force of the interpretation of it. I don’t know how it is in other countries, but the US is in death spasms and in desperate need for intervention. Russia / China / North Korea got what they wanted, chaos and civil war in the US. Hugs
Someone should have told Putin.
‘Patience President. Patience. In a two or so years’ time, Ukraine will look at the USA and be only too happy to make up with us. Look we have idiots like Tucker Carlson on our side,’
It is no longer ‘Someone else’s Problem’.
The word needs to get out….’They will come for you too, some day, some how’
