I had a friend who was very wise. She said that if governing bodies were really pro-family, they would outlaw mandatory overtime.
Along some of those lines, here’s an update from KS: https://kansasreflector.com/2022/08/18/a-year-ago-i-started-a-journey-as-kansas-reflector-opinion-editor-heres-what-i-learned/

Hello Ali. I liked the article, thank you for the link. I scheduled it to post for the early morning as I already posted a lot of stuff today. Yes the thing people must realize is that they have to look at what the political parties really try to do. The republicans try to push all wealthy of the country to the wealthy and have the government only work for the large businesses. The democrats try to get government to work for the people and help the lower income while restraining the upper income wealthy. The problem we have is a lot of the democratic party is now corporate democrats, which means republican lite. They work for their donors who are the same ones as the republican donors, businesses, and the wealthy. Pelosi recently killed a bill to add 2% increase to the income of Social Security recipients that would have been charged to a higher social security charge to people making more than $400,000 a year. She killed it to instead work on a tax cut to wealthy seniors who have stocks. This is not making government work for the people. This is not helping the lower incomes; it is pandering to the already wealthy which is what she and so many of the people in congress are. We no longer have a government of the people for the people, we have a government of the wealthy for the wealthy. Hugs

Well, there’s no saying we can’t keep working on this!
