Couple million years ago there were a couple different proto-humans roamin North Africa, notable Australopithecus afrensis, and boisei: the latter large pastoral creatures that looked a lot like Klingons, herding herbivores, vegetarians; the former small, ape-like omnivores who looked kinda’ like we do, who traveled the peripheries of the savannas in family units, packs not unlike rats … eating anything. The Boisei didn’t make, the Afrensis became us.
It’s not necessarily the strong, my young friend, who will survive, nor the clever, or the well-provisioned.
