Yes it can happen here. The Christian nationalist and the Christian right wing MAGA thugs such as the Proud Boys are pushing hard to enforce a motility code of dress on the public right now. They attack and shut down drag queens reading stories to kids, kids stories to kids, because of a religiously motivated dress code!
