“An anti-LGBTQ+ protest was organized on Instagram after a Pride celebration was scheduled at Saticoy Elementary in North Hollywood. The Pride celebration included a book reading about different types of families. Shortly after the celebration was announced, someone broke into the school after-hours to steal a transgender teacher’s pride flag and burn it. The same teacher was also doxxed by right-wing activists.
Some news outlets have reported that the anti-LGBTQ+ event was planned by parents concerned with how sexual education is taught to young students. Knock LA attempted to interview some of these parents, but was met with silence or a negative response. Two young adult women on the anti-LGBTQ+ side said they were there because “it’s cool.”
“Glendale has had enough!” shouted one of the right-wing protest leaders over his PA. “Time to bust out the zip ties!” he told the police, continuing with “I’d like to zip tie the principal!””

Hello Roger. Hope all is well for you and your wife. I am about to post another school board meeting brawl because the board was voting to recognize pride month, and the maga brownshirts gangs don’t want any mention of the LGBTQ+ or pride. They don’t mind using violence and harming those that they disagree with, including trying to intimidate the board members by releasing their names with an implied threat. These people wont be happy until every gay, trans, lesbian, or not straight cis person is removed from public view and society. They want the LGBTQ+ people hiding and scared to be outed. They want the Russia / Uganda laws against the LGBTQ+ community fully active and enforced today in the US, and they started this by claiming it was just to protect the kids same as those countries did. As if just the existence of gays or trans people are a threat to children somehow, many who are gay or trans themselves. Just being alive is a threat in their world view. Sound familiar? I remember some other country who had gangs that tried to remove a segment of the population and force them into hiding by violence and harm. Hugs

Quite so Scottie.
They don’t seem to think gangs of men in intimidating biker or camouflage wielding guns might be a harm to kids. Nor groups hopped up on alcohol and whatever else.
They don’t think folk who decry the constitution or the teachings of Jesus Christ are a harm.
They are as always hypocrites and self-servers.
And in the long run it will not work for them, although I tend to paint grim scenarios as to why as Jill will tell you.

I am non-violent and anti-gun, just to clarify my position on that. Anyway, I was on a news/politics/liberal snark email list wayback, and one of the members was a hilarious lesbian who’d served in Vietnam to the level allowed at that time. From the time she came home, she’d organized, and ran a chapter of https://www.pinkpistols.org/ .
It’s an exception to my anti-gun-ness, as long as there are nuts with guns who ought not have them threatening people because they exist.

This is the factor which the Pro-Gun lobby tend to overlook. By allowing extremists and ignorant folk (looking at you blaspheming Lauren Boebert ) too much space. There is a reaction.
Now since concerned and also frightened liberals and all minorities can have easy access to guns (as opposed to votes) you can get an arms race, and from there a tension similar to the old Cold War, but without the fear of MAD. Thus the danger of low level community gun on gun violence increases.
It bears repeating. IF the Right want to take hold of the USA in the way they fantasise about then they will have to tighten up gun laws, but as we know is heresy to them.
So, until the heat is taken out of politics, folks talk and extremists are marginalised (or locked up) that danger remains. The current loudest in the Republican Party are displaying Irresponsibility which is nothing short of criminal.
