Well, then.
I left that denomination in the mid-80s when it became more important to be a good Lutheran than to be a good Christian, and yes, it had to do with loving my neighbor as myself, briefly. Even my dad had no argument for that when I explained it. Obviously, the LCMS has stepped well away from the path they used to preach. I gotta wonder if the pastors of my youth are rolling in their graves over all this.

Hello Ali. Always feel free to converse here. I think a lot of denominations have shifted and moved more political than there were in the past. And think of the main stream sects that have split over roles of women and the LGBTQ+ members. But the good thing is that many sects / denominations are more progressive socially than ever before. But the most vocal ones, the ones pushing hate and anger, that are getting the most press. The progressive churches must get as vocal and get their positive message out. Hugs
