  1. They consider Hershey’s Halloween promotion an atrocity? I wonder what they would make of a New Zealand pizza chain that trades as Hell Pizza. Some fundamentalist Christians here refuse to buy their products because of the name of the chain and it’s products in the false belief that pizzas named after the 7 deadly sins actually promote such activity. Personally I prefer their Lamb Of The Damned or Pandemonium over their Gluttony or Wrath, but if you’re into vegetarian dishes their Purgatory and Limbo aren’t too bad. They name a kid’s special 333 (half of 666).Their full range can be found at https://order.hellpizza.nz/menu/pizza. They have around 66 outlets across NZ but I suspect if they tried to open an outlet in the US it would face the same kind of opposition as drag storytelling is facing there. It’s time these people got a life. Listening to a story told by a person in drag will no more make a child trans than consuming a slice of a Hell pizza will turn them into an agent of Satan.

  2. Hi Barry. You are so very correct. But I do love the wonderful marketing idea of the Pizza place owner. I have never understood the rather new ultra / fundamentalist Christian view that even using a word with the name of a mythical place, or the name of the mythical devil … both names that changed over time, cultures, and the translations used. I never understood that. The Satanic Temple is one of the nonreligious progressive organizations that teach good values, caring for others and science / reality to kids. Yet Christians protest them not on their ideas but on all sorts of panic over their name. Often the protests claim it is a devil worshiping organization, which it totally is not. It is a spoof of that. The people you describe not being willing to order from there afraid they will call up a demon need to really reexamine their lives. If their faith in their god is so shaky that you fear the word hell, you need a strong god. Barry, what is wrong with these people that hold on to 15th / 16th century Christian horror mythology. The people in those times used to shout “God Bless You” when a person sneezed because they thought it was a demon coming out, and they wanted to push the demon away. Strange. As always Barry, thanks for the information. Best Wishes. Scottie
