Hi Scottie and All!
So, how old are you?
Me? Why, I’m old enough to know how to use a rotary dial phone.
I remember glass pop bottles.
I remember when car transmissions came in manual as often as automatic, and you better know how to drive one.
And, I’m so old that I remember when republicans didn’t admire Russia.
Damn, I feel old.
hugs;

These past several years have been aging many decent people, for sure.

Hi Randy. I am old enough to know when sitting at the kitchen table next to where the phone was mounted on the wall and when it rang instead of moving away or crouching down I reached up and tried to hand it to anyone else. The rest of that memory cemented in my head is that I don’t touch or talk on phones. The beating was bad. Of course the intent was I don’t touch phones because I might report my abuse, but hey in today’s society we kind of have to do that phone thing. I mentally get around it by thinking of it as a mini computer able to do everything except my mind balks at talking on it. So far I can only do that for any time length with Ron my hubby who understands and mostly texts, and Randy himself who I at first struggled to do but now enjoy talking to until the dang earbuds run out of power. I kind of wonder if he isn’t glad about that. Dang that boy is going on another rant, he maybe will run out of earbud power soon.
Also to this day even with bad legs and Ron having MS we both love the idea of going back to a manual shift. The problem is in today’s society they only come on the base models on most cars, only a few allow it on the higher end. That is because most people today simply have no clue how fun a manual shift it. Ron has agreed to go back to a manual shift if we can find a car with all the electronic features we both love. Hugs and loves to all. Scottie

Hi Randy. Sorry also I remember when Russia was the enemy. I was in the US Army and we did so many drills about how that was the case. Hugs. Scottie

They were the “enemy” when we were all in elementary school-it was their bombs we drilled duck and cover. Heck, the Cuban missile crisis was before I was in school, but both my little sis and I were here. (I can’t imagine the anxiety of being the mother of a toddler and a kid in dipes with that going on.) I cannot for the life of me figure how Republicans, of all people, have glommed on to Putin’s Russia and him making it the USSR again, not to mention the toehold they’re giving Russia right here in the good ol’ USofA! It’s just astounding to me.

Hello Ali. The glommed on to Putin because tRump loves him, because he is an authoritarian who bought most of the elected republican party people, they love him because he hates the gays and trans, they love him because he is making Russian as homogenous as possible with a mainly white straight cis population where only those kinds of migrants are accepted. Sick in my mind. Totally against what the US stands for. Hugs. Scottie
