Thank you Tengrain for another wonderful post that puts the cards on the table and shows who holds the chips. But this one paragraph is to me everything the republican maga fundamentalist Christian right wants to do. Hugs. Scottie
If you happen to be a kid in Floriduh, there’s so many ways this jamoke is taking away your ability to learn about the world around you, from banning books, to expressly banning LGBTQ information, to now banning social media. It’s almost like Bootsie is afraid of what you might learn on your own.
and just exactly HOW will they attempt to enforce this new “law”?

I have to add a bit of convo here. spoke to my adult son about this “law” (he’s a county deputy, and asked him what he thought. His words “YOU tried controlling a 14 year old online…that was ME. Did it work? Did I get online anyway? Of course I did, and I decided to change every one of your passwords from MY computer and you were locked out of it entirely until we “negotiated a settlement” Good luck for Florida cops doing anything about those kids”…then he laughed his ass off at me.

Hi Suze. I love his answer. But Florida will do what Texas is doing. They will go after the big media / tech companies. Texas is suing 4 or more porn companies and Pornhub simply blocked people from Texas. But the prudes did not win, VPN sales went through the roof. The same will happen in Florida. I often watch stuff from Britain using my VPN that I can’t access without it. Hugs. Scottie

Kids today are so much better acquainted with tech than Bootsie will ever hope to be. As soon as this becomes law and he tries to enforce it, he will undergo the largest cyberattack in history. Shutting down his government and exposing for the fraud he is. GO KIDS!!!

Hi Muttpupdad. Yes the youth of today instinctively understand more about computers than most of us old codgers. Just as our parents needed us to set the VCR, digital clocks, and other electronics. I hope the kids do as you say.
I think there are three or so parts to this.
The first thing is a bunch of kids made tRump a laughingstock by pretending to overbook his rally and then no one showing up.
Plus it is also about keeping kids from reinforcing each other in voting for democrats and mocking republicans.
But I think one of the big reason they want kids off social media is that by their already passed bills kids are fed republican hate and bigotry from kindergarten up to the age they can go on social media. The don’t say gay bills, and anti-woke bills banning and supportive LGBTQIA / anti-racism support, anti-bulling programs, or instruction. They have been indoctrinated with republican hate and bigotry since starting school. The republicans do not want social media wiping that out and reinforcing acceptance and tolerance of LGBTQIA and a positive view of a multiracial society. They simply don’t want kids to see any views but maga fundamentalist Christian ideas while they are developing, making it harder for them to become accepting of other people not like them as they grow older. Hugs. Scottie
