    1. Hi Roger. I love it. It fits so well. These hate preachers and people like tRump make a mockery of what Christianity could be. I hope the loving caring kind Christians are able to take back their religion from those destroying it. Hugs. Scottie

      1. It’s been a constant struggle down the centuries Scottie.
Last week I wrote that Part I of not so much a post more a treatise of Christian Belief a post by Professor Taboo being the inspiration. That was a favourite theme of mine of bringing Science to the table.
Part II is more on belief and will involve critical commentary of the Evangelical and the rather bizarre relationship they have with the extremist side of Atheism which would like religion abolished- they do feed off each other.

You are right though it is a mockery.

      1. Yeah.
The previous week is known as Holy Week and is a mix of lamentation, reflection and celebration of the events leading up to and following Jesus’ crucifixion.
Our attendance at church is minimal (Sheila finds it difficult to get out to Masses) but we have our own little private times of reflections and prayer, and as such kind of get involved in a spiritual way.
So Trump’s antics really struck a raw nerve this week.
(I am supposed to pray that he turns and repents- but failed there— Oh well, as try again. As some priests say ‘Ah the Lord loves a trier’ )

        1. Hi Roger. Sorry to hear that Sheila finds it difficult to go out. I send her my best wishes.

I am glad you find time to have your spirit strengthened with your belief in your deity. While we don’t share the same faith, in most ways we do share the same beliefs, it seems to me. We both have a moral code we follow that includes being our best selves. We both believed in kindness, helping others, and equality. We both try to help those we encounter if they need our help with the best of our ability, to give comfort and support to those in need of it.

I wish I had known you a long time ago and in person. I think we would have been grand friends even back then. You are a good person. I wish the world had more of people like you. Hugs. Scottie

          1. I will pass your best wishes onto Sheila, she will appreciate those. She maintains it’s all down to ‘fine tuning’ to try and sort things out, or if she knew just what was the true problem – we think fibromyalgia might be a factor. Something which is difficult to pin down. We keep on.

Yes, it is a comfort to know we do share the same ethical beliefs. I could have gone down a more authoritarian route, but with Sheila warning me about that and meeting You, Jill, Keith, gawgod, Ali and forgive me folks if I forgot to mention your name. With all you folk around me I feel I am getting to a more ‘healthy’ outlook. For this I take this opportunity to thank you for your example. Scottie.

Yes, it would have been nice to have met up at some stage, I would have cleared a lot out of my head that was clogging it.

I value your words greatly Scottie, and will keep them in mind, for when I am in one of my grim moods I can say ‘Don’t go letting your good friends down,’
            Thank you again Scottie.

You and Ron take care. The world needs guys like you

            Sheila and Roger
