The one thing I hate about the coverage this is getting (I’m glad it’s being covered, and also surprised by how positively,) but they keep calling Chef Andres a “celebrity chef,” as if he jumped into Israel from Food Network, or something. He isn’t a celebrity chef, he’s a chef who’s made a good living, and has done well enough he decided to spread it around by showing up after disasters to feed people, helping them reclaim their human dignity after massive loss. He’s been doing it for years.

    US media suck for belittling him by calling him a celebrity. He’s well known because of the amount of philanthropism he’s done, and inspired. US media ought to catch up.

    1. Hello Ali. I agree. The framing is wrong. They do that because it prevents them from having to explain he is a hardworking chef who has built a network that helps people in times of crisis. By saying celebrity chef, it is misleading as to why he is a celebrity, leading people to believe he is famous for being famous without earning it. Just as you said. Hugs. Scottie
