I am just going to say the unimaginable but true…this is NOT all over the news because it is in Africa. The majority of humans living in, or coming from, Africa are perceived to be black skinned…and Eurocentric media (aka white media0 just do not give a damn about black humans.

Even though it is in Africa, it has long been so that we don’t hear news of all the wars in which we (US) participate, even if minimally and from afar. Once Reagan’s admin. got hold of things, we started getting much less news regarding US activities and military spending, until here we are today, when you can only learn if you find something, or others who have found things share. In the 1990s, I remembered that in the 70s up to Iran/Contra, we used to hear about all manner of things going on (and still didn’t get it all,) and thought things had really progressed around the world, until I started reading “The Nation” magazine, where I learned that even things I’d known about were still full blown, plus holy cow there is no peace. And since then, well. sigh

Hello Ali. The problem is that the media is no longer independent and funded. The news is not to inform the public anymore. Now news stations / channels have to make a profit for the company. So the stations / hosts only put on stories that they figure will grab viewers /readers attention. One that will give them the clicks. That also causes misleading headlines. It is like the Pro-Palestinian college protests. Main stream media is treating them as if they are violent rage fill hate fests that attack Jewish students. That is completely wrong and being fabricated. In fact the Jewish students make up a large part of the protestors. But you have to search out that news that the mainstream media is not publishing.
