Jeanine Pirro Falls For Viral “Invisible Chair” Moment At Biden Speech

Does it surprise anyone at this point that Fox is a lying media arm of the republican part.  They are militant in their pro any thing hard core right wing and anti anything about democrats / Biden.  They have become a parody and a joke.  Sadly far too many watch them and believe their crap.  Hugs.  Scottie

A clip has now gone viral showcasing a manufactured “awkward” moment where Biden apparently tries to sit on an invisible chair.. except there is a chair there and he does sit down.

    1. Oh yes Ten Bears. They call her the box wine judge. She has been so intoxicated some times that she had to be pulled off air and the repeats of the shows not shown. But she is the grievance maga queen for all who all think they are the ones being attacked and mistreated, which she massages and keeps going. On her shows the white people are the most discriminated against in the country, the votes of republicans who are the good people are ignored so that the bad not white people win. She is over the top racist. But here is why she has her time slot.

Studies have shown that the outrage that fox uses to keep their viewers engaged / that give them positive chemical feed back, need to be ramped up over and over during the day. Or the feeling dissipates and reason returns. So they put the most opinionated hosts on later in the day and she is about the last I think. Her job is to cross the lines, but by then … she has had a day of day drinking. Hugs. Scottie

  1. Hi Scottie and All;

Fox has given up on the whole concept of journalistic integrity, without shame nor apology. The only reason she took the post down was she made her point and ran out of the room giggling. And, much like the rest of the network and the people who watch it, she was not and is not interested in the truth, the facts behind the image, the fairness of the image or the indictment that says about her as a “journalist”. It’s sad, really. The days of Walter Cronkite are gone, when people could trust their tv’s to tell them the truth of what was going on, and we now reside in the era of manufactured outrage and denial.

    1. Hi Wonderful Brother. Very true. She has a job to wind up the audience with hate and outrage and she does that. Funny thing I posted a video how Fox was claiming that Biden tried to sit on a chair that was not there, how clueless and befuddled he was.

But they cut the video off right when he then sat down on the clearly there chair. As you say they have no intention to inform. Their goal is to be the media arm of the new hateful party of tRump. They are not even trying to pretend as you say because their viewers no longer want that. They want reinforcement of their hate, their bigotry, their view that all dictators / tRump is great and Biden and democracy is evil itself. The bad thing is we both know otherwise decent / good people who follow what they push. Talk tomorrow. Hugs. Scottie

      1. Good Morning, Scottie. Can someone tell me why it is that these people, like Pirro, go about continuing to use the honorific they once held? For example: Judge Pirro. Huckabee is another one who does it. It’s creepy.

        1. Hi Randy. I am not sure. I don’t mind with some people, but others I don’t feel deserve it. I asked Ron and he said it is just a tradition and used to be for people who served in that position or job for a long time and retired or died. He said the idea in his opinion has been distorted and corrupt. I looked it up and found this.

I would agree that this is more of a question of protocol than language, but I suppose it is an example of how usage changes, and formal protocol and “polite” language deviate.

The traditional rule is that for offices held by a single person at a time (e.g. president, governor, mayor), a title should only be applied to the current office holder. If the office or rank is held concurrently by multiple people (e.g. judge, professor, and military ranks — although usually only for senior officers), the designation is retained for life.

Once out of office, the individual reverts to whichever title or honorific applied before he or she held office, although as a courtesy, “once an Honorable, always an Honorable.” Thus, Governor Howard Dean of Vermont, “by the book,” became upon retirement Dr. Howard Dean, and would be addressed as Dr. Dean, but might be introduced as The Honorable Howard Dean, former governor of Vermont. President Jimmy Carter became Mr. Carter (or even Lt. Carter, although ranks of retired military are usually applied only for senior officers). As far as I can tell from perusing other official governmental protocol guides, this remains the formal practice in the U.S.

In common practice, very high officials such as the U.S. president have been granted a “courtesy title” for many years now, and the “courtesy title” is trickling down. Living just outside Washington, I tend to blame commentators on 24-hour television news networks trying to secure interviews from former public officials by feeding their egos, and wish I could think of a more elegant phrase than “obsequiousness escalator” to label it.

Not a few columnists and bloggers have expressed indignation over the extension of courtesy titles, with more than a few indisposed to extend the courtesy to “Speaker” Newt Gingrich.

I’ll add a quote from a U.S. Department of State diplomatic protocol guide

Over the years, and recently as well, there has been discussion about the use of the honorific title of Ambassador by former ambassadors, both those who remain active in the Foreign Service and those who are retired. For years, Department regulations have forbidden this usage unless actually in the job of ambassador or for those few who retired with the personal rank of career Ambassador.

For current employees, long-standing custom and practice, however, has established a clear tradition in the Department and in the Foreign Service that persons who have served a ambassador after Senate confirmation may continue to use the title after such service in appropriate communications with others, may be referred to in communications and conversations by the title of Ambassador, and may be introduced to public audiences by the title.

The Department has also clarified the use of the title for persons who have retired from the Foreign Service or left government service who served as ambassador after Senate confirmation. An amendment to the various regulations permits the use of the title, “Ambassador, Retired,” for all such persons.

    1. Hi Susan. I understand. As I responded before to others the job of Fox now is to be the media arm of the party of tRump. Her drunken job is to wind people up with as much hate and outrage as possible before they go to bed. It is a sad day in our country that the government can not regulate their misinformation and hate. They reach the lowest people capable of evaluating what they say, they reach those who can’t see how wrong they were. Sadly the party of tRump is the party of aggrieved white people who think the entire reason things are wrong in their life is everyone else’s fault. It is the fault of the democrats or the immigrants or anyone but their own leaders they vote for or choices they made. Hugs. Scottie

  2. As Joe begins to sit, he pauses and comes back up just a bit just as Jill appears to see something of not and say something to Joe. You can’t tell what because she covers her mouth, disguising it as giving her lip a bit of a scratch.

At least that’s what I see. I do wonder what she said to him.

    1. Hi MDavis. Yes but the point is there is a chair there and he does sit down on it. The fox and right wing media is so desperate at this point to show him as a frail old man not aware of his soundings is grasping at any straws to pretend weakness. I have already seen replays of the “Biden tries to sit where there is not chair, how can we have this man as President” The fact was there was clearly a chair there and if the Fox / right wing media had let the video play out it would have shown him sitting down. The deception and the willingness of the right to buy into it is scary because the play to the lowest informed people. Hugs. Scottie
