Fireworks … And Memes

Jill has some memes so grand I grabbed a few, we let each other do that.  But the more I read the more I loved each one.  I try, but Jill finds the best.  She is grand.  As for fireworks.  We have cats that are traumatic sufferers and our inside / outside cat ran just as Ron went to get him because the first of the fireworks went off.  Ron stayed up until nearly 1 AM when he was able to get the cat back inside.   The poor thing lay on the bed shaking and struggling like every boom was at attack on him and his frail old body.   Like Jill, we had 6 to 8 hours of bangs and booms.  When Ron and I used to work 12-hour shifts in the hospital, the 4th of July was a horrible night to try to sleep when we had to be up at 4:30.  No respect for working people.  Our park even forbade people from doing it … but they still did their fireworks all night.   Really the people wanting to take other’s rights, others equality from them wanted to show their idea of freedom by again by infringing on the rights of others.  Hugs.  Scottie

  1. Corky says, “Preach, Scottie!” I hope you, Ron, and the kitties have recovered. I have to put Corky on the leash to get her to go outside, but once we’re out there, she acts like I’m the one who was worried. I hope she’s over needing the leash tomorrow!

      1. She did not, though she was very slow in the morning before she trotted down the steps. But she was OK! Even though each night since the 4th, some smart one has exploded 2-3. It’s been after her last outside visit, at least. The 3d and the 4th were rough.

        1. Hi Ali I understand. Last night here right after we got Tupac in and it got dark, some jerk let off two bursts of loud bangs. Ron and I debated if they were gun fire or not. Tupac stayed upset for hours. Hugs. Scottie

      1. I do work hard on it … some days I spend upwards of 12 hours on it. And no, I don’t get enough rest, but it isn’t the blog that keeps me from rest, but rather everything happening these days. The blog actually gives me an outlet, a vent, so to speak, for the angst. Thanks again for being such a wonderful friend. Hugs

        1. Hi Jill I understand. My blog does the same for me. About politics and even more personal, about my abuse. I think you are one of the easiest people to be a good friend to, you are grand. You are kind, generous, caring, you are a fantastic person who raised wonderful children in hard circumstances in difficult situations. You always did your best and stuck to what you understood to be the right thing. You make appreciating you easy by being you. I wish more people could be like you in our world today. Hugs, and always best wishes. Scottie

    1. Hi Ten Bears. I worked as an armed security guard at a nuclear site. No matter the weather we were required to walk the fence line and made sure the fence and outer buildings were secure. If the weather set the fence sensors off someone would have to go out and visually inspect it. If a section of fence sensors or a camera went down someone would be assigned to watch that section until repaired, and maintenance would not work on it in bad weather … So we were out there in any weather for as long as it took. I understand the cop. Hugs. Scottie
