Opinion | Israelis, indifferent to Gaza’s destruction, are overloading on October 7
“That’s how it is in war,” say those looking for excuses when explaining the mass killings in Gaza, the wholesale attacks on women, children and the elderly, and the sheer absolute devastation.

I can’t open it, but will search for it after a bit. I know it’s opinion, and I don’t take news or facts from op-eds, but I do want to read it to see what you saw.

Hi Ali. Again the problem with posting from the iPad while sitting at a doctor’s office. I will see if I can find the link. Thank you for having faith in me enough to want to see what I saw.
On a separate note. Ron steamed some store bought burritos on a grilled tray which below had beef broth to keep them soft. He made a cheese sauce with diced tomatoes, Velveeta, and seasoning. Boy they are great. Put a couple on your plate and pour the sauce over them cut them and let them soak it up, and they tasted so good. If you would like me to ask him what he made the cheese sauce with, I will send that to you. Thanks for letting me know the issue and I will see what I can do to fix it. Hugs

Yum! That would make a good post, Scottie!
I used to like to melt Velveeta over the habanero Rotel diced tomatoes, for parties. I don’t do Velveeta much anymore, but I still like a nice, hot cheese drizzle!

Hi Ali. I will ask him the recipe because the cheese sauce was creamy but not thick or sticky. I was really good and the burritos drank it up. He also basted the burritos with the broth mixture so the skin wouldn’t get hard. Neither of us like a hard wrapping on a burrito. The interesting thing is not so much that they were very good, but to me the interesting thing is how we came up with the idea. See we had been putting them in a baking dish and cover them with a can of crushed tomatoes or such. I got kind of tired of them that way. They way our cooking tends to work is Ron loves to watch cooking shows, and I cook by instinct, feel, smell, and idea. So I asked if there was a way to fry them in a little bit of broth or would they get hard. He came up with the idea of steaming them with the broth below a grill tray. Then we started talking about something to put on them or dip them in and the cheese sauce was born. It had some good seasoning and diced seasoned tomatoes. We come up with a lot of original tastes and ideas by talking it out first and each adding our ideas to make it work. Hugs

Hi Ali. That recipe post will have to wait. We still have a bad circuit breaker that needs to be traced out. Hugs.

Hi Ali. Don’t bother looking. I did and I apologize for posting it. It is one of those sites that you have to sign up for to read the post and it was not worth it. Here is the link, but again it was an opinion piece so not worth signing up for. Hugs.

I read Haaretz sometimes. I just don’t have any Apple Products, so I couldn’t see this one. I’ll go read it. Thanks for the link! I hope you’re all good for a while after your allergy checkup.

Hi Ali. Really I hope you don’t look for it. But as for how we are doing. We had a massive circuit breaker problem and have spent two days running electrical cords to keep all my office going and my not losing online ability. But we are all well. Hugs.

Yikes. I’m very sorry about the circuit breaker thing. Here’s to it being resolved by now. sigh It’s always something, isn’t it?

Hi Ali. Yes and no no no! Ok at the time you asked we were stuck by the breaker going off and stuff not working. So Ron raced into the bedroom one night after I went to bed. Checked the line outlets by my bedside which worked, then went to the other side of the room and check … a 3 volt only. Plus the readings he was getting at the outlet near my side of the bed were wildly fluctuating.
So this morning I got up to got up at 12 midnight, and at day break got ready to go to my appointment. Ron dove into the outlets. Scary results. We could have burned up.
He not only looked at the outlet but took it and the wires out of the wall. Massive problems. The outlet behind the bed was OK but the next one was cracked, melted, the wires burnt so badly Ron had to clean them of soot to check their color. We are so damn lucky that we did not burn up. Then He went to the next one in line in our bedroom and found almost the same, a worn out outlet with breaks and with worn / burnt wires. Ron tells me he has to replace that entire wall and floor on that wall, but he bought all new outlets and wire for that entire line. He replaced the two in our bedroom, he plans to replace the ones behind our bed. He feels he doesn’t need to look at or replace the rest of them on that line, but to sooth my anxiety he is going to take each outlet out and look at it. He reminded me the ones in my Pink Palace he already replaced. Still I am nervous of this. Remember this home is old and been through lots of hurricanes and taken lots of damage. Hugs

Ali, I have comments to do and other things to do, but Ali, is it wrong for me to want to close all this down and just watch the Picard episodes I bought 3 years ago that never watched. I am so tired and so … Just needing something I can not describe. Ali I have not heard from my friend Kamyk since he told me they wanted to send him to Hospice. I am so worried. I just want something to distract me from life. Hugs. Hugs

You know, Scottie, I think you should take some down time. I know I feel like it, too, and am staying away from too much bad stuff about which I can do little. Everyone needs down time. I think watching Picard would be a great thing! I’m guessing it’s as hope- and decency filled as any Star Trek show with Picard involved. What a great antidote!
(Plus in re-reading yours and I hope proofing mine, I remember you were going to concentrate certain days of posting, certain days of not posting, and certain days of total downtime, but you’ve posted like a trooper for several weeks now. Just sayin’. I know I post a lot some days, but not every day.)
I’ve just finished a book- “That Time I Got Drunk and Rescued a Human” by Kimberly Lemming. A dragon is who rescued the human. It’s a rollicking fun book, though I’m not sure many guys would care for it. Still, I liked it, and am looking for more of her work. That kinda thing for me is like Picard for you.
You just let me know. If you think the blog should take a week or two off, then that’s what we’ll do. If you just want to take a week or two off and have Randy and me cover, well, that’s what we’ll do. Either way is fine with me. There’s just a lotta yuck in the world right now, and it’s exhausting in spirit and body. Plus a new moon on Friday, and those are famous for sucking people’s energy.

I knew there was something I’d miss in my comment!
Regarding your friend, I’m sorry his providers feel his time is limited. That’s tough, but hospice is wonderful. I know you don’t want to hear about that, though. I hope you get some contact with your friend after he’s comfortably situated whatever the situation, so you at least know where he is and how to deal with him. And again, I’m very sorry; it’s hard, grieving for people.

I don’t blame either of you being careful and anxious, one bit! What a mess.

Hi Ali. I apologize for being so far behind in replying. If you read the post I made today you understand what has been going on, one crisis after the other. I never did get to watch Picard. Nor anything. And I am so glad you and Randy are there to pick up the slack. I need to be there for my husband and my friends. It is what my blog is about, being there for those who need someone to be there. This just happens to be much more close to home. Anyway. Thanks and hugs for all you do. Hugs
