  1. Agreed! We need to support and share all the good news about what people are doing, rather than focusing on the hatred of people who have, are, and will just keep hating. Thanks!

    1. Hi Ali. There is progress forward and good news happening for the LGBTQ+ despite the horrid attacks by the haters on the rights of those not straight cis white people. That is the part that I just don’t understand.

Why does rights for one group take away their rights? Look when segregation was ruled illegal how did sharing drinking fountains and bathrooms with black people harm white people? How did the allowing black people to play sports on the same teams harm white people. What right was lost by white people.

I can understand not liking a group, not wanting certain people around you. I don’t care for loud maga thugs. But the idea that they must legally be denied the right to exist to simply make me happy is a horrifying idea. I feel the entire country benefits from the influx and exposure to people who are different from us, who hold different culture ideas. When you look how rich our entire culture is from incorporating other holidays, foods, manner of dressing, different songs, and so much more. And for those maga who are against the changing of US white culture … a fox entertainment host in promoting the idea of annexing Canada as a US state as pushed by the cult leader commented that if Canada became part of the US then the food Poutine would become a US food.

Think of that. It is OK to change US culture if the additions come from fellow white people. But if this new food was from a non-white majority country then it would be a horrible attack on US sovereignty and culture. Hugs

      1. I don’t understand it, either. If I’m not comfortable with the people around me, I deal with it inside myself or leave, I don’t insist they change or leave. People are kind, mostly, if and when allowed to be themselves.

        1. Hi Ali. I agree. During the hurricane Ian when most of our park was without power, there were maga and a few bigots who had no power or generators. We did. We shared coffee with, helped them with things as best we could. We knew their politics and feelings toward the gay guys … but when people are hurting and in need, well I know at least one of those people who before wouldn’t give Ron and I even a nod or hello now speaks highly of those “gay guys”.

When word got out that we had hot coffee and also ice this man came and asked if it was true. I told him yes, so he asked if he could have some ice as they were trying to keep the meat in their freezer cold. Every morning he would come over to get several thermoses of hot coffee and bags of ice. It felt weird at first mostly because he was not sure what to say but over time he relaxed and we began to talk.

Now Ali I have no doubt the way he felt about gay people has not really changed but maybe we opened the door to that, and he is still maga, but he did change how he felt about us as I am being told by people in the community. Anyway. Hugs

    1. Hi taurusingemini. Yes but that is the, the content was what they haters were against. Inclusion of what they thought of as same sex penguins raising a child together. That is content they do not want available to anyone especially children. Teaching biblical slaughter is OK for them to push on kids but exposing children to the idea that not all families are the same or that being different is OK is horrifying to the ones that hate bombed the book. It is a book about inclusion. These people hate inclusion, they want permission to exclude anyone who is different or has different ways / ideas from them. Hugs

    1. Hi Eurobrat. I agree. Please see my reply to Ali on that subject. I also thought the book was cute and something little kids would love to have read to them. I also think the idea of inclusion is one kids should hear and be taught at a young age. And that is the problem in a nutshell. The people against the book hate the idea of inclusion of anyone different from them in any way, thought, or manner. They want a world of clones where everyone thin ks the same as they do, acts the way they do, and most important … worships as they do. Hugs

    1. Hi Ali. Yes but more important it shows that the country is far more accepting and tolerant than the small minority of fundamentalist minority that wants to shut down anything not straight cis or 1950s society. The people with hateful ideas are not the majority but they want to force the majority of the country to live by their limited ideas of morality / right and wrong. Hugs
