My friend is doing better slowly. I plan to call him today as I have not heard from him in a few days. This morning his sister sent me a note with his new address. Thanks again to everyone who sent him a card, he has had a very difficult hard life starting with his kidnapping and sex trafficked as a little boy. Hugs.

He seems to be healing slowly but steadily now. His blood work is leveling out and his wounds are looking a whole lot less infected and ugly!

Hi Ali. I talked to him a couple days ago. It was excruciating and a struggle for both of us. He couldn’t pronounce clearly, struggled to speak, had long pauses. I think they still have him on a feeding tube so that maybe the reason. Not sure and did not think to ask. He is feeling better and he looked at his wounds for the first time, said they looked horrifying to him. I thought to write to him today again. Plus I will pick up another card to send him. Hugs

Well, recovery takes time, but talking at all is a great sign! I’ll try to get something out to him this week, too.
