Friday Links

Last night, it got to be bedtime and I didn’t even realize I’d set nothing up for today, until I got up this morning. Scottie’s posted some important news here already, and I don’t want to knock it off the top, so instead of the posts I thought I’d make, I’m just gonna link ’em, and readers can just read whatever they like and still not miss those posts of Scottie’s.

  1. RE: Peace & Justice for 1/18. “In frigid temperatures, 500,000 converged on Washington, D.C.
There were also joined by many more elsewhere around the world to oppose the threatened U.S. war on Iraq.
” Yeah, we marched in California. We held vigils. We protested and resisted. But we saw the American people’s weak will. How so many of them were disinterested. So infuriating and disheartening how they ignored history and just heeded the Cheney-led bullshit. Cheers

    1. It was disheartening. I drove up to Wichita to march and hold a candle by a travelled street. Sometimes we got honks, but we got more middle fingers. sigh

Later while Sen. Obama was running for president, the other side pretended that they had nothing to do with invading Iraq, and that they hated it. There were many of us who showed that at the time, but they weren’t there. Except some of their middle fingers.

All that death, and all our own wounded soldiers, most of whom will never be the same for it, bless them and give them peace.
