This is Christianity as I understand it.

Hi Barry. Yes the true Christians are those that follow the Christ. Christ of the bible refutes all the Old Testament rules, laws, and vengeful practices. It is claimed his death paid the entire cost for anyone who believed in him and followed his words. His words were love, take care of the poor, care for and respect strangers, heal those that need it, don’t be violent. Basically he refutes everything the hate preachers love to preach from the Old Testament, the maga hate the woke Jesus and his true message.
I enjoy those types of Christians and people of other faiths that believe in those same messages. I like them to come here if they accept the right of others to exist who do not believe as they do and are different from them. I think you understand what I am trying to say and struggling to express. Good decent caring loving accepting people are welcome here. The only ones not accepting are the bigot racist haters of minorities, the LBTQ+, or those who are different. If they can not accept others rights, I can not accept them.
At 17 years old I had my life saved by a deeply religious man, a farmer I worked for after school who found me hiding after a really bad beating from my adopting father. I begged him to let me stay in his barn for a while as I was not only very hurt but afraid for my life if I returned home. He arranged for me to go to a private church school for the summer and then the last school year, my 18th grade. I learned about their religion and their beliefs. I think he saved my life and I would have stayed in the church even not believing the supernatural parts of his faith. But I had accepted I was gay, and I knew that religion still held it was an abomination to their god. So I thanked them and walked out of their life after graduation.
This got longer than I wanted it to. But I wanted you and others reading to understand I don’t dislike religious people of any faith or religion. I only don’t tolerate haters and those that used their holy books as clubs to bash others, rather than guides to show them how to live in harmony. I work against the message of those who seek to control others and force them to worship / live by the church doctrines they follow. Reverend Ed Trevors speaks of things I believe in how we should treat others, accept others, help others, defend those who are different yet harm no one.
Thank you Barry for being here and sharing your thoughts and understandings with us, I appreciate it. Best wishes.
