Hi Roger. I am stunned how fast the Nazi white supremacist regressive movement has taken over in the US. Just a decade ago Russia was our worst enemy state. Now 40% of the people polled think Russia and Putin is wonderful because our own government is singing their praises. Is it that 50% of the country is that easily led and manipulated? Similar to the British Activist Left which has always had a tendency to be pro-Moscow; in their case because they were indoctrinated to be anti-American. Now of course they are in a tizz because they are allied with Trump.
Basically because Putin is seen to be intolerant to minorities and tough about it that fits into a those dirty little corners a lot of folk would not like to admit to.

Hi Roger. I agree. That is why the Christian right here is in love with Putin. They claim he brought the church back into power there, he wiped the LGBTQ+ from public society. The white supremacists love him because it is mostly a white ethnostate. Basically it is a hater’s paradise in Russia so the haters here love it. Plus the tRump cult love Putin because their cult leader does … but they don’t realize that Putin has something on tRump that lets him control tRump and demand loyalty. Hugs

The irony is as well, if they had Putin in the Whitehouse; they could forget those guns of theirs.
They could forget all those freedoms that got them where they are too.
