Donald Trump was allegedly recruited as a KGB agent during a trip to Moscow in 1987, a former Soviet intelligence officer has claimed.
Alnur Mussayev, who previously headed Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee, said one of his job “recruiting businessmen from capitalist countries” – and claimed that one of those recruits was Trump. At the time, the now-US president was a 40-year-old New York real estate developer.
The former Kazakh intelligence chief didn’t provide evidence to support his claim, which he made on Facebook, but this has created further speculation about Trump’s ties to Russia, dating back to his first visit to Moscow 38 years ago. Trump, who was a rising star in the New York property market, travelled to the Soviet Union to explore the possibility of building a hotel in the capital.

Soviet officials reportedly facilitated the trip, raising questions among intelligence analysts about whether it was a routine business opportunity or something more scandalous. Several years ago a report highlighted how, in 1985, the KGB had updated a secret personality questionnaire distributed among its officers, detailing how to identify and recruit Western figures.
The document, according to intelligence sources, instructed agents to target “prominent figures in the West” with the aim of “drawing them into some form of collaboration with us… as an agent, or confidential or special or unofficial contact.” Mussayev’s claim appears to suggest that Trump may have been one such target.
Despite years of scrutiny, Trump has vehemently denied having any improper ties to Russia or colluding with President Vladimir Putin. However, some US officials have repeatedly raised concerns about his close relationship with the Kremlin leader, particularly during his first term in office.

I really highly doubt this report. I have no doubt whatsoever that they considered recruiting him, but any halfway competent case officer would have come to the conclusion that he was not actual controlled asset material.
A useful idiot? absolutely.
Someone who could be manipulated by flattery? 100% .
Someone stupid and greedy enough to convince that it was all his idea to do what they wanted? Piece of cake!
Someone willing to take money from actual KGB assets? In a heartbeat.
But his innate narcissistic personality disorder would make him absolutely useless as a covert asset. He’d brag about it the moment he walked out of that meeting to anyone who would listen.
But that very same issue would make him so easy to manipulate into doing what they wanted they literally could do it all out in the open and in public…just as they have done for years and years.
There’s zero need to gather kompromat and run as an agent someone who will do what you want willingly.
Hi Bruce. I agree with most of what you said in this comment and the one below. Yet I know for a fact that tRump was beholding to different mobs, organized crime gangs, to the point of having mob upper levels in his Mar-a-Largo organization structure. For example when tRump had the casinos his personal head of security was a mob enforcer. The guy did not hide it and could make problems disappear very easily. When Ron worked for him at every event tRump would have several under investigations suspected mob people. It was soon clear that tRump was working with the Russian Mafia to do money laundering. Again the Russians were coming to the states buying apartments in tRump buildings that no one used then selling them. Washing the money. If you look at where tRump gets his business money it was Russia through a bank who was found guilty of crimes and several times tRump simply was too broke to bay back the loans. Deutsche Bank is known to have loaned Donald Trump over $2 billion over the years, while Axos Bank has also recently provided loans to him. Deutsche Bank had agreed to pay over $130 million to resolve allegations that the German bank had devised a “scheme to conceal corrupt payments and bribes” to bolster its business around the world. His loan officer died under suspicious circumstances. So he has lots of extortion material to use against him. Hugs
Yes, it’s been an open thing that he’ll take money from anyone willing to loan it, and until he lucked into “The Apprentice” years, his real estate ventures were always mobbed up (as were his father’s which is where he learned it) and his longtime consigliere Roy Cohn himself was deeply tied to the Mob.
He was ALWAYS a wannabee ‘Mob Boss’ .. it’s core part of his personality. If you look at “The Apprentice” in that light it’s blatantly obvious.
But this is not at all the same as being a ‘Russian Asset’.
Again, extortion material is not needed if the person willingly does everything you want because of his greed and narsissistic personality.

This is also why I really don’t believe the infamous ‘pee tape’ exists, either.
