Oh yeah…leaky eyes time. We just lost Tikka a couple of weeks ago, and everyone’s still feeling the Tikka-shaped hole in our lives.
“Scratched at the back door to come in, then scratched at the front to go out” is multiple times daily occurence at our house, LOL.

Aw, I’m sorry to hear that, Bruce. I remember reading about Tikka when I still had Corky. Take peace in knowing how many of our furkids are on the other side of the bridge, making sure the newbies get across and have fun until we all meet again.
Or at least please take peace and comfort!

HI Bruce. Warmest hugs for the loss of your Tikka. When we lose a furry family member both Ron and I seem to see them around the house a lot out of the corners of our eyes or rounding a corner. Just fleeting glimpses. Hugs

I’ve always had a preference for cats over dogs; they are smaller, gentler, quieter, There’s something magical in that connection–different with a pup, more vigorous, but with cats it’s almost a mind meld.
Over time we’ve had 23 cats, most of them surprises (oh, hi, great food here, can I stay?) all of them (well almost) blending in with the others. Charlie is 13, and beginning to look a bit ratty in the fur department, but still treats us like family.,,but at our age I think this will be our last, unless another wanders up the driveway….there is always a space where the cat used to be, and yeah, they leave a small furry hole when they go.

Hi Judy. I understand what you are saying that at your age … Ron and I feel that way also. That is a subject Ron and I have talked about. We have only James to ask to take them if we die or can’t handle their care any longer. But his family struggles to find suitable housing already and pets would make that harder. We are down to one older cat and when he passes he will be our last. But we have the photos, videos, and the memories of them to comfort us with. Hugs

Thank you Ali for reblogging Ten Bears post. Otherwise I would have missed it. Right now I am not finding a lot of time during the day. Hugs
