Hi All. These pictures caught my attention and each put a smile on my face. When I realized they were affecting my spirit like this I knew I had to share them with you all. As I was getting the post ready, I found I had this song going through my mind sung by the consummate story teller, Tom T. Hall. I miss this type of peaceful music. I hope this post brings you a touch of peace today. -randy

Hi Judy; Yes, they do show their joy quite well. I remember Grace when younger would climb up on my lap as I was in a chair wanting love, and she would put her head on my chest. I once saw a meme that said something towards “Lord, help me to be the man my dog thinks I am”. Dogs teach us unconditional love, joy of life, and living a life of simple pleasures. If there is such a thing as reincarnation, only the best of us would come back as a dog.
Be Well.

Hi, do you know that the second last photo has a sad background. The chimney´s in the UK were so tight that only children could clean them. Most of the children became illness with the lungs. Best wishes, Michael

HI Michael. As you say that, I do recall they would get something similar to coal miner’s black lung. I wasn’t thinking on that when I posted it. Well, I hope there were others that caught your attention and made you smile. Thank you for the reminder.

This one stuck with me through the evening yesterday. I started to write back a couple of times, but didn’t get it done. I have a hard time tolerating country/western music even though step-mother played it almost constantly, so I know who people are from way back. I did have a soft spot for Tom T. Hall, who told stories and wasn’t so rough and twangy and crying because he done someone wrong and they left him. This brought back when my grandfather passed (stick with it a minute,) and I took my Nana to get her hair done. The hairdresser, a friend of both my grandparents, had been playing some, I think Journey, but asked the other stylist to push the button, and there was some nice Tom T. Hall while we were there. That was in 1978, and you brought that really nice (bittersweet a bit, but really nice) memory back, and I still appreciate that this morning, so thank you, Randy!

Hi Ali. Sorry for the late reply. Long work day, and I fell asleep shortly after eating dinner.
I am very much not a fan of 99% of country music, except the old story songs. And yes, I know what you mean about the whiney songs. Waylon, Willie, Merle, George, Chris, Jerry Reed, … these are the artists I miss, though some of the rock-a-billy songs are fun, too. Those old songs bring back memories and remind me of a time where I had far fewer responsibilities. I’m glad this one brought you a good memory, even if it was of a difficult time.
