    1. Hi Judy. From everything I read he was a typical modern young adult. He was accepting and tolerant of minorities and the LGBTQ+. He was deep into gaming and discord. Both were his social interactions. Discord for those who aren’t sure is the following: Discord is an instant messaging and VoIP social platform that allows communication through voice calls, video calls, text messaging, and media. Communication can be private or in virtual communities called “servers”. A server is a collection of persistent chat rooms and voice channels accessed by invitation links.  The slogan is talk, play, and hangout. Big place for gamers. But the most important point is the kid was apolitical. Didn’t care for politics or either of the main parties. Mostly ignored them. Had a young person like that in our own home for a while. Despite explaining to him what was at stake and the laws being passed would affect us he had no interest in voting. He just wanted to work to have money, hang out with his friends and play games on the computers with them. The reason he went after Kirk was the hate Kirk spewed about the LGBTQ+, non-white, and female communities. He had friends in each group that Kirk targeted trying to remove their rights and in some cases accusing them of such gross crimes as a way to call for them not to be allowed to exist at all. Kirk lived by his hate, made his money off his hate, and died due to his hate. Hugs
