I have an internet friend who will understand this image.

I met a wonderful intelligent man online years ago on a different blog.Β  I did my normal sign off using hugs, and the person wrote back saying he understood why I did that but could I not do it with him as it caused him emotional / mental discomfort. I replied of course and I really do try to make sure not to do something that would make this grand person uncomfortable.Β  The few times I slipped up and signed off when replying to him, I used hugs I was very appologetic.Β  But he said he understood it was a mistake and not done to harm him so he was able to overlook it. I really value this person’s inclusion in my life and I wouldn’t ever want to disrespect him or anyone else. He has taught me so many important things, and I am glad he told me about how giving him virtual hugs was hurting him.Β

How ever I want to include that when I was expressing my abuse and crying on the post this person who finds hugs personally harmful gave me hugs to show he cared.Β  Β How grand!Β  He took the harm to help me.Β  That is a wonderful way of showing you care.Β

So when I saw this image I immediately thought of him. So thank you, my friend.Β  I did not use your name because I was not sure whether you would want me to. But for the few times I messed up and used the wrong sign off, I send you this to show I think I understand. Best wishes always.Β  Β

  1. There was no hugging in my family as a child. Go figure. But after I left my home for good someone hugged me, can’t remember who. I felt xso good, so warm, so loved I just melted. I started hugging everyone I could. When I started hanging out at the Zoo, my favourite bar, a waitress asked if I would give her a hug, she needed to feel some love. She loved the way I hugged her. Suddenly not just her, but all the waitresses started coming to me when I entered the bar, or when they came on shift if I was already there. Sometimes female patrons in the bar would ask me for a hug too even if they didn’t know me. The one waitress, nicknamed Strawberry, started calling me the best hugger in the world, meaning the Zoo, and more girls/women asked for hugs. Hhat was one of the best times of my life. Hugging was such a good thing for me and them. Sadly I had to leave that city, that bar. While I still get some unsolicited hugs, I never get as many as I did then. I miss it.
So hugs to you, and Ron, Scottie. Though I have never spoken to Ron, I love you both.

    1. Hi Rawgod. I love your sharing about hugs. I am glad you got those hugs when you needed them. My story is about the same. No hugs growing up, just pain and threats. But when I met someone who wanted to hug, to touch without sex, I learned how grand just touching someone else can be for me. Ron and I often hug during the day, especially if one of us is struggling or not feeling well. I will pass your hugs on to Ron, he will enjoy them.

But I do understand why some don’t want to be touched like that. I did not during my first few years in the military, as it triggered me, reminding me of people using my body without my control. Once I learned I could be in control, it all changed for me. So I honor those that don’t want to be touched even with a virtual hug and I give positive hugs to those that enjoy them. Hugs

  2. No, never force a hug on anyone. But do open your arms to them. They probably need to be hugged, most people do. If they do want a hug, they will walk into your open arms.
    Peace.
