Gallup: 7.6% Of US Adults Now Identify As LGBTQ

This is why republicans are so desperate to end any talk or, protection of, or acceptance of LGBTQ+ in schools.   The more people see it, the more people have friends and family that are LGBTQ+, the more open it is in society on social media, the more normal and tolerant people are.   The more young people will come out and live as the person they are.   Republicans are desperate to stop this.  Hugs.  Scottie

Gallup: 7.6% Of US Adults Now Identify As LGBTQ

Gallup Polling reports:

LGBTQ+ identification in the U.S. continues to grow, with 7.6% of U.S. adults now identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or some other sexual orientation besides heterosexual. The current figure is up from 5.6% four years ago and 3.5% in 2012. Bisexual adults make up the largest proportion of the LGBTQ+ population — 4.4% of U.S. adults and 57.3% of LGBTQ+ adults say they are bisexual.

Slightly less than 1% of U.S. adults are transgender. Overall, each younger generation is about twice as likely as the generation that preceded it to identify as LGBTQ+. More than one in five Gen Z adults, ranging in age from 18 to 26 in 2023, identify as LGBTQ+, as do nearly one in 10 millennials (aged 27 to 42). The percentage drops to less than 5% of Generation X, 2% of baby boomers and 1% of the Silent Generation.

There would be more boomers and Gen X if they would have survived HIV

I came out in March, 1983, six months after the CDC coined the name Acquired Immune-Deficiency Syndrome and about a month after HIV was first identified as the likely cause. I was 15. By the time I could legally enter a bar, I had been to more funerals that most people will ever see in six lifetimes. And all while Republicans laughed and openly pondered how they could speed up the deaths.

There is a reason why so many of us survivors have CPTSD.

Yes.
It also explains why gay men of our generations have no patience with the politics of appeasement.

Yes, indeed there would be SO many more…as a Black gay elder I do my part to speak, interact and love younger Black LGBT members…

Don’t ever stop. There is so much more that needs to be done within the black community. As usual the disparities between communities of color and whites persist in spite of all of our efforts. Every young man you educate is part of your legacy.

Kinsey found that, among the men he surveyed, 37% had had sex with another man to orgasm.

That figure has been vigorously disputed by researchers who couldn’t accept his figures – and their own surveys managed to reduce the number a lot by excluding same-sex sex between young men, claiming that those orgasms weren’t really same-sex sex because mumble mumble mumble, and some altered their results by doing their surveys insecurely, where the men surveyed couldn’t trust that they’d be anonymous.

Now, with changes in attitudes, men are being more honest and researchers are doing less data manipulation to obscure men’s actual sexual activity – and the numbers in modern surveys are steadily increasing. I think we’ll find that Kinsey was much closer to the actual numbers than any of his critics would ever admit.

I know that, as an out gay man in the corporate world for several decades, the coworkers who hit on me over the years weren’t the other gay men I worked with, it was married men with kids who called themselves straight – but who tried to persuade me to have sex with them although that was obviously not straight-man sex. Sometimes I said yes, sometimes I didn’t – when I did, I enjoyed their intensity and enthusiasm. Those “straight” men were so, so hungry for the body of another man. It’s always seemed to me that there’s a lot more man on man sex going on than most people will admit.

I’ve been to the steam room on a “straight” cruise. Very frisky, it was.

“We didn’t kiss, sooooooo …”

Florida teachers can discuss sexual orientation, gender ID under ‘Don’t Say Gay’ settlement

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/sexual-orientation-gender-id-can-talked-florida-classrooms-lawsuit-set-rcna142870

So everything is basically reset back to where it was before this law.   The only difference is teachers and schools will have to deal with fundamentalist Christian maga parents and wing nuts who don’t even live in those schools claiming that teachers are teaching gender or sexual orientation for allowing a rainbow sticker, that the schools are violating the law because the library returned the books with and about LGBTQIA characters / plots in them, and it will tie all schools up in lawsuits the state won’t help them with.   DeathSantis is really just admitting he was wrong without saying it.  Kaplan said that she was sure that the law would be ruled unconstitutional if they continue with the appeal, but that it would take at least two years of kids being bullied and the books out of the library.  Of course DeathSantis is claiming a total win when it completely rolls back his law.   Gay teachers can let the kids know they are gay, those married can talk about their spouses and post pictures.   Anti-gay bullying programs are allowed again.  Plus maybe the best thing, the gay straight alliance clubs are allowed again.   The real thing you see is DeathSantis only pushed this as long as he was running for office, and once he was no longer needing to suck up to the fundamentalist Christians he backed down, and did not fight for it.   I think he knew all along it was an illegal bill.   Hugs.  Scottie

*** Personal note.   Was not feeling well all weekend and this morning I woke up at 4 am needing to throw up.  But all I could bring up was air.  Then after half a cup of coffee, I started to throw up last night’s meal.   All morning I keep feeling dizzy and nauseous every 20 minutes or so.   I have spent a lot of yesterday and so far today, in bed.    Hugs.  Scottie1`

Opponents said the law had created confusion about whether teachers could identity themselves as LGBTQ or if they even could have rainbow stickers in classrooms.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Students and teachers will be able to speak freely about sexual orientation and gender identity in Florida classrooms, provided it’s not part of instruction, under a settlement reached Monday between Florida education officials and civil rights attorneys who had challenged a state law which critics dubbed “Don’t Say Gay.”

The settlement clarifies what is allowed in Florida classrooms following passage two years ago of the law prohibiting instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in early grades. Opponents said the law had created confusion about whether teachers could identity themselves as LGBTQ or if they even could have rainbow stickers in classrooms.

Other states used the Florida law as a template to pass prohibitions on classroom instruction on gender identity or sexual orientation. Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky and North Carolina are among the states with versions of the law.

Under the terms of the settlement, the Florida Board of Education will send instructions to every school district saying the Florida law doesn’t prohibit discussing LGBTQ people, nor prevent anti-bullying rules on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity or disallow Gay-Straight Alliance groups. The settlement also spells out that the law is neutral — meaning what applies to LGBTQ people also applies to heterosexual people — and that it doesn’t apply to library books not being used in the classroom.

“What this settlement does, is, it re-establishes the fundamental principal, that I hope all Americans agree with, which is every kid in this country is entitled to an education at a public school where they feel safe, their dignity is respected and where their families and parents are welcomed,” Roberta Kaplan, the lead attorney for the plaintiffs, said in an interview. “This shouldn’t be a controversial thing.”

In a statement, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s office described the deal as a “major win” with the law remaining intact.

“Today’s mutually agreed settlement ensures that the law will remain in effect and it is expected that the case will be dismissed by the Court imminently,” the statement said.

The law, formally known as the Parental Rights in Education Act, has been championed by the Republican governor since before its passage in 2022 by the GOP-controlled Florida Legislature. It barred instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten through the third grade, and it was expanded to all grades last year.

Republican lawmakers had argued that parents should broach these subjects with children and that the law protected children from being taught about inappropriate material.

But opponents of the law said it created a chilling effect in classrooms. Some teachers said they were unsure if they could mention or display a photo of their same-sex partner in the classroom. In some cases, books dealing with LGBTQ topics were removed from classrooms and lines mentioning sexual orientation were excised from school musicals. The Miami-Dade County School Board in 2022 decided not to adopt a resolution recognizing LGBTQ History Month, even though it had done so a year earlier.

The law also triggered the ongoing legal battles between DeSantis and Disney over control of the governing district for Walt Disney World in central Florida after DeSantis took control of the government in what the company described as retaliation for its opposition to the legislation. DeSantis touted the fight with Disney during his run for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, which he ended earlier this year.

The civil rights attorneys sued Florida education officials on behalf of teachers, students and parents, claiming the law was unconstitutional, but the case was dismissed last year by a federal judge in Tallahassee who said they lacked standing to sue. The case was appealed to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Kaplan said they believed the appellate court would have reversed the lower court’s decision, but continuing the lawsuit would have delayed any resolution for several more years.

“The last thing we wanted for the kids in Florida was more delay,” Kaplan said.

Of note, the lead attorney in the lawsuit is Roberta Kaplan, who is best known to most as E. Jean Carroll’s attorney. Kaplan was also Edith Windsor’s attorney in the landmark Supreme Court ruling on DOMA.

Legislature passes bill mandating history of communism classes

This is the teaching of ideology, republican capitalism ideology, something republicans keep claiming they are trying to wipe out in schools.  We can not teach comparative ideas of systems or how anything including capitalism can be taken to unhealthy extremes.  Plus this law mandates stressing how bad and harmful communism is, which means stressing how great republican strongman democracy backed by run away capitalism is.   In Florida you can not teach anything in public schools that might make straight white cis Christian kids uncomfortable (or their parents unhappy) such as the truth about racism and how it still is in effect today or how some people are not straight cis or even Christian.   But none of these laws including this one doesn’t apply to any private or voucher school.  Just public ones?  Why because poor disadvantaged kids go to public schools, so let’s force right wing Christian nationalism white supremacy on to these kids.   Hugs.  Scottie

Rep. Ashley Gantt raised questions about what would be included, at what point a deep dive into totalitarianism would be “age appropriate,” and why voucher-funded schools are exempted from this requirement.

Rep. Anna Eskamani noted that the Legislature had established bans for discussions of diversity and sociology, and “in the context of what’s happening in K-12 schools,” she claimed the legislation was based on “teaching that a political ideology is bad” rather than a good-faith comparative study of ideologies.

Ahead of the final passage, Democrats floated amendments the day before to try to expand the bill to include analysis of “McCarthyism” and how the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol Riots could lead to communism, but these did not make the final product.

The sponsor says this is not ‘indoctrination.’

The mistakes made by the Soviets, the Chinese and other communist regimes are one step closer to being part of Florida K-12 classrooms.

The House passed by a 106-7 vote SB 1264, a “History of Communism” product previously passed by a 25-7 vote in the Senate, putting the bill on a path for a Gov. Ron DeSantis signature.

Ahead of the vote, some Democrats sought to knock the bill down, while Republicans and one Democrat loved it up.

Rep. Bruce Antone, a Democrat, rose in support of the bill until he was reminded he was speaking during the block of time reserved for opposition.0

Rep. Chuck Brannan, closing on his bill, said the real purpose was to address concerns of Florida’s “diverse communities” of refugees from communist countries, not to “indoctrinate anybody or promote fear mongering.”

Students in traditional public and charter K-12 schools are on track to receive instruction on the history of communism beginning in the 2026-27 academic year in what is billed as an age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate way.

The bill would also compel the creation of a museum of history of communism, create the Institute for Freedom in Americas at Miami Dade College, and rename the Adam Smith Center for Study of Economic Freedom as the Adam Smith Center for Economic Freedom.

There is a key party

..split on these bills among actual voters, meanwhile.

Polling conducted by Sachs Media found Republicans were overwhelmingly supportive (74%) of an effort to teach K-12 students about the “horrors of communism.” By comparison, only 41% of Democrats believe kids need a crash course on Soviet genocide.

Ahead of the final passage, Democrats floated amendments the day before to try to expand the bill to include analysis of “McCarthyism” and how the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol Riots could lead to communism, but these did not make the final product.

When I was a senior at Lake Worth High School, in 1964, the state of Florida required us to take a 6-week course in Americanism vs. Communism. One of the textbooks was J Edgar Hoover’s Masters of Deceit. Not a lot seems to have changed.

Florida Fascism pretends five year olds can understand economics, but not that LGBT people exist.

We aren’t allowed to explain in the classroom why Billy has two daddies because their poor innocent minds are not developed enough yet to comprehend it, but we can tell them about Communism.

Too young to learn about love, but old enough to learn about complex economic theory? Okay. Fuckers.

The fact that kindergarten friend Johnny has two moms? VERBOTEN!

Advanced socio-political/economic theory for a system of government not a single country in the world actually practices? Totes appropriate for a 5yo, sure.

obviously, the object is not to actually teach the kids anything – it is to establish that communism == bad, so that democrats can then be accused of being communists

They’ll say something like “communism is the destruction of America and evil democrats love communism “

And yet Fascism will be left off the curriculum. Not surprised, just noting it.

There aren’t communists in the USA. Fascists, however, we have plenty of and they are working pretty damn hard to overthrow our democracy.

Eventually resulting in a ban on the Democratic Party.

This.
They are trying to turn kids against Democrats early.

Hey, but what if it makes some of the kindergartners feel bad? I thought that was the cult excuse for banning accurate teaching of US history.

Oh. I assumed that they would teach the tykes something like “Communism is anything that the Republicans hate”.

Probably teaching raw fear and disinformation on base levels before they can process any of it.

Not a single one of these morons could even define what communism means.

If you fed them 6 beers, they’d define it as ‘Blacks’.

Half a beer, and they’d define it as Blacks.

And Browns.

They will tell them that sharing is communism. I’m sure that will go over well with the parent’s.
“Billy, share your toys with your brother!”
“But mommy, the teacher said that’s COMMUNISM!”

The parents will eventually be denounced, for not being anti-Communists.

I’m confused. Are they going to teach the little children about sharing–and how bad it is?

To be followed in Sunday school with “What Jeebus ACTUALLY Meant”.

are they going to teach the little ones how the communist leaders seized power just like the GQP is trying to do?

So in classes where we used to teach kids that sharing and treating others with courtesy are important we’re going to tell them they’re all on their own.

Technically, that is the American way, the wholly rugged individual Fuck You nonsense. I know many (I’d like to think most) Americans don’t think that way, but it is a reputation that the US has promoted over the decades.

I think this is the indoctrination the right keeps talking about.

Brought to you by people who couldn’t distinguish between communism, Marxism, totalitarianism and socialism if their lives depended on it.

I wonder how the curriculum is going to handle the whole cult leader thing. Then again, self-awareness is not a MAGA strong suit while immunity to cognitive dissonance is.

They should also do a live-action demonstration of that cartoon about capitalism, with one guy with one cookie, one guy with no cookies and the capitalist with a pile of cookies saying to the first guy, “Hey, that other guy wants to steal your cookie!”.

not to “indoctrinate anybody or promote fear mongering.”
– so, it’s an indoctrination class.

Rep. Chuck Brannan, closing on his bill, said the real purpose was to
address concerns of Florida’s “diverse communities” of refugees from
communist countries, not to “indoctrinate anybody or promote fear
mongering.”

I thought taking diversity into consideration was illegal in Florida.

DeSantis Gets Bill Requiring Permit To Sleep In Public

By my dogs that love gravy they are talking concentration / prison type encampments surrounded by guards with prison like rules.  Basically no freedoms that all adults enjoy.  Plus the Republican Party is seriously going all in that homelessness harms home values and harms tourism / the attractiveness of the state for businesses / people moving to the state.  Those conditions, funded by the counties, include clean restrooms, running water, security on premises and bans on drugs and alcohol. They must also be located in places that don’t impact the value of nearby properties.   The legislation accords with a stated desire of the Governor to have camps with restrictions on what occupants can do and “help” available, in efforts to include what he has called “judicial scrutiny.”    DeathSantis has long wanted to institutionalize that he terms undesirables.   Right now it starts with the homeless, but soon who else is going to be put in camps or other style forced confinement?  The poor?  Trans people?  The entire LGBTQIA?  What about those who don’t follow the correct and proper god?  Like all these culture war type laws it is deliberately written very vaguely so that it can be interpreted as strongly as the most extreme person would want to take it.  The same vagueness held true for how a homeless person would get a permit for outdoor camping.   Basically the law gives permission / compelling these localities to round up the homeless and put them somewhere.   Detain them, jail them, just hide them from the good more well off people of society.  One last thing.  This was written by a right wing think tank, it is legislation they want to use in every red state.  Just like the anti-trans laws / don’t say gay laws Florida will be the test place to see if it will pass, because Florida is run by a crazy maga governor.   If it passes here, they will try pushing it everywhere.  Democratic Sen. Jason Pizzo, who contended Tuesday that a “think tank” wrote the legislation.   Hugs.  Scottie

Florida Politics reports:

The Senate has passed a House bill creating a new financial obligation on localities by banning homeless people from sleeping in public, setting the stage for a Gov. Ron DeSantis priority becoming law.

The measure from Rep. Sam Garrison (HB 1365), passed by a 27-12 vote after being substituted for the Senate version, would ban counties and municipalities from permitting public sleeping or public camping on public property without explicit permission, compelling these localities to round up the homeless and put them somewhere.

The Governor, who has suggested institutionalization should be brought back, said mental health help for the unhoused is “important,” but that he didn’t want “Sodom and Gomorrah” style homeless camps.

Read the full article.

Well they are building and funding more for profit prisons. You need people in those prisons in order to make money. Problem solved.

Democrats: People are living on the street. We need to build affordable housing.

Republicans: People are living on the street. My wealthy donors don’t like seeing poor people in public. Homeless people need a permit to be homeless. If they can’t pay the fine, toss them into one of the many for-profit prisons owned by my wealthy donors.

Caitlyn Jenner’s suggestion was to bus them out to the desert and have them camp there, instead of near the beaches.
No food, no water, no sanitation, but hey, they’re homeless. I guess they’ll adapt somehow?

Republicans want to do this to trans people. She thinks she’ll be okay because she’s rich.

Ron says mental health help is “important,” but weirdly he has not seen fit to fund it.

““Sodom and Gomorrah” style homeless camps”

That sounds simultaneously fun and biblical, a rare combo.

I fully understand that sodomy comes from Sodom, and I understand what sodomy is. But what do we get from Gomorrah? Gomorrahmy? And what the hell is that.

Mr. DeSantis, from me, fuck you,
The only difference between Nazi Germany an Florida, is the weather.

I hope his last sound is a scream

Got to keep those private prisons full. At least the homeless will get food and a roof.

Only for mandatory labor. No labor, you get only a single bowl of oatmeal once a day. He can please his constituents by bringing back literal slavery.

So, living on the street becomes a crime that will lead to one losing their freedom. They will be shocked when the read the headlines about a mass casualty shooting incident when law enforcement went to enforce this law.

Think they will go after the rich white kids passed out drunk, sleeping in public, during spring break?

Of course not. However, the number of highway patrol officers assigned to the Spring Break week is increased, in order to keep the- ahem – darker elements away.

Or this: (from Mock Paper Scissors)

Thumbnail

It should also be a crime for assholes pretending to be taller by wearing 5 inch lifts.
I can hardly wait for the day when Bootsy and his never ending cruelty comes to a very painful end.

“…compelling these localities to round up the homeless and put them somewhere.”

But, apparently, that “somewhere” must be on private property which would have to be compensated by the state local government. See, pro-business. /s

The law applies to all equally. Rich man and poor man alike must have a permit to sleep in public.

It’s a famous quote, satirizing the purported “equality”.

Keller high school cancels ‘The Laramie Project,’ a play about gay student’s murder

https://www.dallasnews.com/news/education/2024/02/26/keller-high-school-cancels-the-laramie-project-a-play-about-gay-students-murder

Remember the goal is to remove anything positive about gays / trans kids, to remove any anti-bullying programs, with the goal of wiping out LGBTQIA visibility in society.   That will lead back to the horrible abuse of kids who are different as in the past.  We have to find a way to stop this.   Remember this is the same school that had the fundamentalist religious person on the board sneak a religious film crew in to take video and interview students.   Please look at the actions the board / school districts have taken against LGBTQIA students.  The effort was described below by one person interviewed, but to put it in my own words, they want to roll back all advances in acceptance, tolerance, and equality of anyone who is not straight and cis.  To remove all protections for kids who are different, who might be LGBTQIA, or not straight or not cis.   It is to enshrine church views / doctrines into rules and laws.  Return society to what as allowed in the 1950s, which these people feel makes go happy because it makes them feel happy, good, and important.    Hugs.  Scottie

“What I see driving it now is an ugly push to deny LGBTQ rights and identity that, in some states, is being enshrined in law,” he said.

The Keller ISD school board recently passed policies decried as discriminatory to LGBTQ students.

A Keller high school production of The Laramie Project — a play about the aftermath of the 1998 murder of a gay student in Wyoming — was canceled.

Timber Creek High School parents received an email Friday night saying that students would no longer perform the show this spring. The email did not provide an explanation.

Community members are now rallying to reinstate the production, launching an online petition that has received more than 1,300 signatures so far.

“This play is a poignant depiction of queer history,” the petition reads. “By banning this play, we are not only suppressing an important piece of history but also denying our students a chance to understand and empathize with the struggles faced by the LGBTQ+ community. … It’s essential that our education system works towards creating awareness about these issues rather than shying away from them.”

In the brief email to families, school leaders said they are “working on developing an alternative production opportunity for our students.”

“We understand that it is unusual for a production change like this to take place. Students will still have an opportunity to read, discuss, and analyze the play during the school day,” they wrote.

District spokesman Bryce Nieman said in a statement that the decision was “made by many stakeholders.”

“The decision to move forward with another production at Timber Creek High School was based on the desire to provide a performance similar to the ones that have created much excitement from the community, like this year’s Keller ISD musical productions of Mary Poppins and White Christmas,” Nieman wrote in an email.

Mary Anne Weatherred, whose son was supposed to perform in The Laramie Project, said she’s concerned about a pattern of anti-LGBTQ decisions in Keller.

If people don’t agree with the message of the show, she said, then they shouldn’t come watch it.

“But they don’t need to take it away from the kids,” she said.

The Laramie Project, which is often performed in high schools across the country, explores the community’s reaction to the murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay 21-year-old University of Wyoming student who was attacked, tied to a fence in a field and left to die.

His brutal death became a symbol of anti-LGBTQ violence and helped fuel the fight for expanded hate crime legislation.

Judy Shepard, Matthew’s mother and president of the Matthew Shepard Foundation, said she’s seen a spike in attempts to cancel productions of the show in recent years.

“My heart is broken when people still refuse to see how important this work is,” she said.

Shepard said the play can hold particular resonance for high schoolers, who are only a few years younger than her son was when he died.

“It might scare some kids. And it might wake some kids up. And it might make kids want to make change — all of those things. And they have the power to do it,” she added.

Roughly 25 years since his murder, many lawmakers and local school boards are targeting the rights of LBGTQ students.

Keller school trustees voted last year to establish rules stating that district employees “shall not promote, encourage, or require the use of pronouns that are inconsistent with a student’s or other person’s biological sex.” This means someone could intentionally use the wrong pronouns when referring to a transgender or nonbinary child.

Before that, the school board approved a policy prohibiting library books across all grade levels that include the discussion of gender fluidity.

A Keller ISD trustee resigned earlier this month after parental outcry over a film crew that was brought into a school without families’ knowledge or consent. Parents were enraged when they saw the crew was part of an evangelical network from the Netherlands.

The Laramie Project has been the subject of protests and controversy, with several administrations canceling productions over the past two decades.

The Matthew Shepard Foundation’s goal is to “create an environment where people are afforded an opportunity to discuss the play and its messages, the hate they encounter in their own lives, and how they can work collectively to build a more understanding and compassionate community.”

About two-thirds of respondents to the Educational Theatre Association’s annual survey said censorship concerns are influencing their play selections this school year.

“We know educators are worried about the current wave of legislation mandating what they can and can’t teach,” the association’s director, Jennifer Katona, said in a statement. “What’s concerning about these results is the potential impact of self-censorship. School theatre should be a way for students to explore diverse perspectives, which helps them develop empathy and critical thinking.”

A different North Texas district recently triggered national outrage when a transgender teenager was removed from his part in the school musical. The community rallied to get him reinstated in his leading male role.

Howard Sherman, managing director of the performing arts center at Baruch College in Manhattan, is an arts advocate who tracks and fights against instances of theater censorship in schools.

This isn’t the first time he’s watched a school cancel The Laramie Project.

“What I see driving it now is an ugly push to deny LGBTQ rights and identity that, in some states, is being enshrined in law,” he said.

Hearing that Keller ISD wanted to instead put on a show more like Mary Poppins or White Christmas, Sherman said those are great shows that have a place on the high school stage.

“But they shouldn’t be the only kinds of shows because that is not preparing students for college, for the real world,” Sherman said. “Students shouldn’t be relegated to escapism or assumed to not be capable of handling mature themes.”

Earlier this month this same school district was infiltrated by an evangelical group who filmed students without their permission. A school board member who reportedly helped sneak in the film crew later resigned.

Christianists are squeezing us out of existence.

Vote solid Blue to begin to reverse this inevitable course of destruction of our history and of us.

Or Christians take over the schools and enforce their authoritarian will and ‘sensibilities’ and violence.

Well, you can’t let good ChristStain children learn that the hate their parents are spewing lead to the brutal death of an innocent young man whose only crime was being born the way he was born.

This is dangerous to so many.

Nobody has rights until we all have rights.

In the seventies, of the six plays we did each year, one was required to be a classic. After casting, but before rehearsal, Lysistrata had to be replaced with The Trojan Women due to one Harper Valley hypocrite.

Dang black history keep getting in the way of the lie that there never was racism in America.

Erasing black history and life. That is the Texas plan.

I keep telling you guys – about the only thing on par with our legislature is some of these school districts.

What are the odds that they will “chose” Godspell or some other Christian-infused pablum? Not Jesus Christ Superstar, that is too “rock,” and not the Jesus-Is-My-Rock type, either.
