On October 7, Hamas, a militant group based in the Gaza Strip, launched a deadly attack on Israel, killing over 1,400 Israelis and kidnapping over 200. In retaliation, Israeli airstrikes have killed, as of this video, over 6,400 Palestinians in Gaza, where Palestinians have lived for decades under an occupation and blockade.
Since 1967, Israel has imposed tight restrictions on travel and essential goods such as food, fuel, medicine, and water in its occupied territories. In 2007, those restrictions became even tighter in Gaza after Hamas seized power there. Since then, it has been nearly impossible for Palestinians to leave Gaza or to access an adequate supply of essential goods.
Today, the Gaza Strip, with a population of over 2 million Palestinians, is a victim of what many call “collective punishment” as Israel bombards its population, shuts off access to internet, power, food, water, and medicine, forces them to leave their homes, and prepares for a ground invasion.

How greatly the republicans in that state must hate brown people. If given half a chance, they would gleefully restart slavery. I don’t see how this is even legal. Think of where this money could be spent to help the people. Hugs

Texas is adding to its border wall to deter migrants from entering the state by constructing a barrier between itself and New Mexico.
“Texas installs fencing along NEW Mexico border. Our barriers around El Paso forced the migrants crossing illegally to enter into New Mexico. They then entered into El Paso from there. To end that, we are building a barrier on the New Mexico border,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Construction of a wall along the Texas-Mexico border has been in the works for months since Abbott committed to the project in 2021. He has continually posted videos and images of the border wall on X, but last week’s announcement revealing the construction of a wall between Texas and the neighboring state of New Mexico marks the latest step in his Operation Lone Star.
KFOX14 reported earlier this month that members of the Texas National Guard reinforced the wall between New Mexico and Texas with concertina wire — a type of barbed wire that already lines the Texas-Mexico border. Abbott said Texas had plans to build a barrier between the two states during an appearance at the Manhattan Institute last month.
New Mexico and Texas Democrats condemned the action in a joint statement.
“Earlier this month, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced the placement of razor wire fencing along the Texas-New Mexico border north of the Rio Grande near Sunland Park, NM. This is the latest Operation Lone Star stunt funded by the working Texas family’s tax-dollar that will result in environmental damage, community division and injuries of vulnerable migrants,” the statement read.
“It’s clear that Governor Abbott has no plans on actually addressing our broken immigration system head on — but instead adding more fuel to Operation Lone Star’s dumpster fire,” the statement added.
Is Abbott aware that New Mexico is part of the United States and not “Old Mexico?”
I sort of being serious. There are people in this country who get confused about this. I’ve heard it from JMGers who reside in NM.
This is a real article that I saved years ago from USA Today newspaper.
I swear it was in the comments section of this blog that someone nearly had immigration called on him/her because s/he told a fellow American that s/he came from New Mexico and didn’t go through customs. It was a whole “facepalming” nightmare.
I remember a story decades ago about a man who had a huge hassle from the IRS because he wasn’t paying the right taxes. He lived in NM and they insisted he report his “out of the country” income.
I read that there is a surprising percentage of Texans that think New Mexico is part of Mexico. And an even higher percentage of non-Texans that think that. I’m not surprised on either count.
Fascist Abbott is building these walls to lock women in so they will be unable to leave the state to obtain legal reproductive care elsewhere.

Jerry / Rawgod has been posting of the atrocities of the governments / religious groups that stole kids from their parents and abused them horribly to civilize them, He reported on the beating death of a black man whose family still fights for justice, on The Majority Report they just played a clip of Matt Walsh saying the colonization and killing of native populations was a good thing that white people should celebrate because they made everything better … for the white people, I have memories in my head of people who took enjoyment in hearing me cry both in sadness and crying out in pain. I can’t any more today. I am sorry I can’t. Religious people demanding the death and wiping from society of people like me, removing the protections for gay / lesbian / trans kids to return to a time when their lives in school were hell and fear. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH HUMANS! Maybe it is time that humans move aside on the planet! We don’t deserve to be here. Hugs
Where was the Israeli army on October 7
This is one of the more honest videos done on the subject. It shows just how much control Israel has over Gaza and the horrible living conditions Israel has forced the people there to live in. It details with facts the dates that Israeli militants took over the deported over 750,000 Palestinians from their homes and lands so they could steal the land for Israel. Then the video report shows how Israeli settlements have grown in the West Bank, and some are so large they are the size of major cities. This mistreatment is the catalyst for the rage that keeps erupting as a desperate people with no hope, no home state, see everything taken from them as they are abused. Killing of civilians is wrong, but it is just as wrong on both sides. To answer the question of where was the Israeli army, guarding illegal settlements and the settlers who attack and harass Palestinians, destroying their homes, corps, and yes even killing them in an attempt to drive them out. Why because one god says the land is Jewish, another god says the land is Muslim, and no gods are real. Hugs

What do you want me to do, I am only 10 years old
I want to thank PERSONNELENTE for the link. Most things I am hearing about the Hamas attack on Israel is all the horrible things that Hamas committed. And I 100% agree that what they did is horrible. But that doesn’t give the Israeli government and Israeli military the right to also commit horrible tragedies to the civilian Palestinian population. If it is wrong for Israeli children to be harmed, it is also just as wrong for Palestinian children to be harmed. Period full stop. Palestinian civilians and children have as much worth as Israeli civilians and children! Israel is using US supplied planes and missiles to level entire city blocks in Gaza while the people are still in them. Israeli military is bombing UN schools and hospitals. All things the US / world said was a war crime when Russia was doing them.
Please watch the very short subtitled clip of a Palestinian child showing the rubble that was her home, and saying how scared she is. Sad tearful hugs.

What a week so far and I am still reeling
Son of a bitch! I am so drifting I wrote an entire fucking post and at the end lost it. I will try to resurrect it. I cannot believe after two hours of work, I lost it all. But that is how foggy and tired I am.
But I went to bed instead.
I am trying to finish writing this Thursday morning at 5 am. I have allergy shots at 10:10 am.
So Sunday night I couldn’t sleep. I woke about 1 and tried to sleep but about 2:30 I got up. Typical Monday morning, but I got a lot done. Then I had a 9 AM appointment with the pain clinic and I got some steroid shots. I think they were eight in total. At home I tried to do the dishes, but my back was wrecked so I took more medications. That gets important later. That night after needing extra medications all day I was tired and not fully functioning. But I stayed up later than normal for me. Sadly when I went to bed I was unable to sleep, so after four hours of tossing and turning I got up.
Now it is Tuesday morning and I have not slept since 1 AM Monday morning. Plus I am groggy from needing extra morphine and baclofen. Add to that I have very high blood sugar even trying very hard not to eat carbs because of the steroids, along with the steroids pushing me to be aggressive. So I was not my really sweet normal self and barely tracking. By Tuesday afternoon, I was so punchy I was not making sense on anything. I was trying to talk to Ron about politics and was so disjointed I sounded like I had been drinking or something. I was listening to a podcast earlier that mentioned an interview that Biden did with Jack Hardwick that only got 117,000 views, but was super informative of what Biden was doing for the country. Then I read on Jill’s blog about Jill and Annie talking about posting snippets of what I thought was the same interview. I was so out of it I couldn’t understand two different events. Ron convinced me they were and informed me I really needed to go lay down for a while. I did. No sense fighting with Ron when he is right and in that mindset.
But it was in vain. I slept from 7 PM to 9 PM and was awake all through the night. I again got up about 2:30 frustrated as possible. I started to watch videos and read news articles. I did some postings. We got some great news in the morning when the roofing company called saying they were ready to put the new very expensive metal over roof on. They will start on the 11th. It is a very well constructed roof that goes over the existing structure already there, molded to include gutters, with a lifetime warranty. We are getting some skylights added and moving some vents.
Ron decided to put up my dry erase whiteboard in the Playtime Pink Palace even with my not tracking correctly and being so groggy. We are mounting it on the wall, as I don’t have room in here for the stand. It was slated for the west wall over the computers but I realized it would be hard to write on there. Then I also realized that I have that big open spot where the door swings back to. It has no shelves as it would prevent the door opening all the way. But the whiteboard is thin, so it won’t bother that. But that is the only wall that Ron has not removed or rebuilt in the years we have been here so the studs are not right. Ron fixed that with a small cleat that is hardly noticeable. I love it. Below are some pictures. Hugs

Here is the whiteboard put up. I was too punchy from days with no sleep, I forgot to get a picture of the wall first. The door is off because Ron is going to use that between the new living room that used to be my office before the hurricane tore the roof off the room, and it was slated to be James new room when the inner roof was put on. James moved out, I got his old room, Ron gets a new living room, and the house gets a new dinning room where the living room is now. Since the door that was on this room had lots of window panes and I don’t need that, Ron is getting a cheaper solid core interior door for me, and using the other door for the new living room.
