Wisconsin man charged with hate crime for allegedly cutting internet cable of neighbors he thought were in the country illegally

Another thug vigilante, who thinks he is entitled to enforce his version of rules on others based on his feelings.    Laws and facts mean nothing to these thugs.   He felt he had the right to deny these people a legal service because he did not like them based on their race and his incorrect idea of their immigration status.   And he was wrong, the police say the people were here legally.   But he thinks all Mexican are here illegally.   I wonder where he gets that idea?  From Fox and other right wing media that basically claims the country should only be white and have white immigrants.   What ever happened to people minding their own business and leaving others alone?  Also the asshole was not brave enough to own up to what he did originally trying to blame it on the repair person.    Hugs

“I just don’t feel that they deserve cable,” said Shannon Pearson, 48, according to a criminal complaint. “They’re illegal aliens.”

A Wisconsin man was charged with a hate crime after allegedly cutting his neighbors’ internet cable because he thought they were in the country illegally and don’t deserve the service, according to a criminal complaint.

On Sept. 22, a worker came to install internet in the Eau Claire apartment upstairs from Shannon Pearson. Pearson, 48, who admitted to drinking alcohol earlier that day, told officers he “was upset because the upstairs occupants were in the country illegally” and “should not be able to get cable.”

Pearson initially told officers he informed the cable installer that his upstairs neighbors were in the country illegally, and the installer “freaked out” and cut the cable before leaving. Pearson says he then went upstairs to confront his neighbors, who he said don’t speak English, about their status but was pushed down the stairs by one of them.

Through an interpreter, officers interviewed the neighbors —identified as J.L. and M.A. in the complaint — who denied any type of altercation or making contact with Pearson.

The internet installer, who returned to the upstairs apartment during the interview to fix the internet, claimed Pearson “had come outside and was saying racist things” during the installation and that he cut the cable.

According to the complaint, when confronted with the cable installer’s statement, Pearson said, “I just don’t feel that they deserve cable. I’m sorry, I don’t. They’re illegal aliens.”

He admitted to cutting the cable with scissors and reiterated that he believed his neighbors were in the country illegally because they don’t speak English.

J.L. and M.A. are not in the country illegally, according to police.

Cultist MD Gov Nominee Accepts Gift From Proud Boys – JMG

The proud boys are part of the gang of thugs that are the republicans enforcers that intimidate the regular people who don’t want the hateful policies of the right.   This is like in the old days we thought long gone where the political parties gloried in their support from the KKK and other violent groups.   We were headed away from those times but we got snapped back to them hard because the racist haters couldn’t stand the idea of a black man being in the White House as president.   Dogs that love gravy a minority of hateful racist bigots have taken us all hostage and we have to fight back hard.    Hugs

The Washington Post reports:

As Del. Dan Cox worked the crowd at his primary victory party this summer, a young man wearing a black polo shirt with a Proud Boys insignia offered a handshake and small gift to the newly minted GOP nominee for governor. “Here, this is a present from Maryland Proud Boys to you,” the young man said in video footage publicly posted on a Dan Cox Vimeo account, naming the local chapter of a far-right extremist group with a history of violence.

The footage, posted two months ago, was online Friday morning nestled among other Cox campaign materials, attack ads against Democratic nominee Wes Moore and promotions of Cox’s biography. The clip was removed after The Washington Post contacted the Cox campaign, which responded with a statement denying an association with the young man. “In the noise of the victory celebration, it was hard to hear what was being said,” Cox said in the statement.

The roads to preparedness questions….

Fox News was so scared of what Karine Jean-Pierre was saying that they cut off the video

https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2022/10/fox-news-scared-karine-jean-pierre-saying-cut-off-video/

Fox lies and misinforms the right base so badly they are not even part of reality the rest of us live in.   In the old days people that were this confused and believed in untrue stuff would be shunned and ignored.   People would rightly say they have a mental illness or be terminally stupid.   But they now are a large part of a major political party and the most reliable voting base of the same political party.    They are loud and can be very violent, they are convinced they are not only correct but because they are told it by the only media they consume that they are the majority, and they have the right to force others to do as they demand.   All of that is wrong, but it is what they are told and as they won’t check with other media facts don’t matter to them.  When a Fox employee asks a question they are not looking for an answer to it but they are framing it so they can build a story / sound bite off it to attack the left / democrats or to further the culture wars they so love to engage in.   In this case it backfired, their viewers might have learned right wing media has been lying to them on the oil situation.    Hugs

Fox News said that out Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre gave a nonsensical answer to a Fox reporter, so they weren’t going to even show what she had to say. But what she said made sense… and contradicted Fox’s narrative about gas prices going into the midterm elections.

At yesterday’s White House press briefing, Fox News’s Peter Doocy asked Jean-Pierre about oil companies, which are making record profits as gas prices are high.

“What makes you think that they are going to listen to an administration that is ultimately trying to put them out of business?” Doocy asked.

“How is the administration trying to put them out of business?” Jean-Pierre replied.

“Well, they produce fossil fuels, and this president says he wants to end fossil fuel,” Doocy responded.

At the briefing, that’s when Jean-Pierre gave her full answer. But on Fox News, that’s exactly where they cut off the clip.

“We wanted to show you the rest of her answer but she didn’t make any sense,” Fox host Jesse Watters said.

While Fox News may not have faith that its audience could comprehend her answer, LGBTQ Nation trusts its readers a bit more.

First, Jean-Pierre pointed out that U.S. oil production is “up and on track to reach a record high next year.”

“We’ve seen that from their- from when we see their profit margins,” she continued, adding that they’re at a “record high.”

“And so, in fact, the United States has produced more oil in President Biden’s first year than under Trump’s administration’s first year,” she continued. “But at the same time, oil companies are raking in record profits while more than 9,000 approved drilling permits remain untapped by the oil industry.”

“There is no shortage of opportunity or incentive for all companies to ramp up production.  This is something that they can actually do.”

On Twitter, Media Matters’ Kat Abu put the video clips together.

Her statement contradicts Fox’s coverage of gas prices, which has tried to pin the blame for rising gas prices on the Biden administration and “Biden and Pelosi’s far-left socialist agenda,” as one article on Fox’s site put it earlier this month. Fox has regularly said that Biden enraged oil industry executives with his opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline, which they also blame for high gas prices. Other commentators on Fox have said – similar to what Doocy implied at the press briefing – that the left actually wants to increase gas prices to force people to use greener energy.

On Twitter, people criticized Fox News for its attack on Jean-Pierre.

What a day yesterday was

The day started with both Ron and I in too much pain to stay in bed.   So about 5:30 after he tried to go back to sleep for an hour or so I had been awake since 2 AM, we got up.   I got a call yesterday from an older woman in the park with some internet issues.    I went to her home and fixed them.   The internet provider told her that to fix the problems she was have she needed to rent their equipment rather than as she had done buy her own.   That was a huge lie.   The thing with the internet provider is that they rent their equipment for a lot of money per month.   She just needed to have everything reconnected after the hurricane.  After doing my duty getting her computer to see her printer and things like that, about 90 minutes later I got home.

Then the guys decided to take the fan and other stuff hooked up in the front room / my former office down and put it up in our bedroom.   It was not until they got it up that they thought to look for the remote which is the only way to control the fan.   James says he gave it to me along with the alarm keypad.   I remember the keypad and placed it in my closet.    But have no memory of the remote to the fan.   A search for the remote began in the house, but no remote was found.   So James changed the control boxes for the one in the bedroom with the one in the living room that did have a remote.   After three or four hours with power on and off, the fan was up and still did not work.   Seems there was a switch out that needed to be turned on.   Ok fan works.   Then I found the company’s contact number online, and Ron called them.   At first they were going to send a new control unit and remote, then they said they may need to replace the fans we have because they have recalls on them.   Crap.   Well if they replace them great, if for some reason they don’t crap.   By then it was too late to blog, and we ate a late supper that let me know I ate too much far too late at two in the morning.    After I ate, I went to bed.   That was yesterday.    Hugs

Big Tech Algorithm Helps Corporate Landlords JACK UP Rents

A new report by Propublica exposed the software package landlords use to help them raise rents. Ana Kasparian discusses on The Young Turks. Watch LIVE weekdays 6-8 pm ET. http://youtube.com/theyoungturks/live

“On a summer day last year, a group of real estate tech executives gathered at a conference hall in Nashville to boast about one of their company’s signature products: software that uses a mysterious algorithm to help landlords push the highest possible rents on tenants.

“Never before have we seen these numbers,” said Jay Parsons, a vice president of RealPage, as convention goers wandered by. Apartment rents had recently shot up by as much as 14.5%, he said in a video touting the company’s services. Turning to his colleague, Parsons asked: What role had the software played?

“I think it’s driving it, quite honestly,” answered Andrew Bowen, another RealPage executive. “As a property manager, very few of us would be willing to actually raise rents double digits within a single month by doing it manually.”
