Ron DeSantis compares elementary school teachers to Hamas terrorists
ย
Lynchburg, Virginia USA – April 14, 2023 – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis speaking at Liberty University on April 14, 2023.Photo: ShutterstockFlorida Gov.ย Ron DeSantisย recently sent a message to his followers comparing LGBTQ+-inclusive elementary school teachers to Hamas fighters who have gunned down and kidnapped Israeli civilians.
โI have seen the Leftโs indoctrination dangerously worsen in the last couple of decades โ from student organizations praising Hamas at Ivy Leagues to elementary school teachers pushing radical gender ideology down the throats of first graders,โ DeSantisโ message said,ย according to Florida Politics.

The right is making public education intolerable. Thatโs not an accident.
Donโt Say Gay laws and โparents rightsโ groups are all part of a plan to completely defund public education.
On October 7, Hamas members gunned down Jewish settlers, worshippers, and attendees of an electronic music festival; launched rocket attacks; and took women and children hostage. Their attacks have ignited a long-simmering military conflict with Israel as the neighboring countries battle over control of the region.
DeSantis has claimed that some pro-Palestinian U.S. student groups, like Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), areย โpro-Hamasโ and want a โsecond Holocaust.โ While Hamas is an Islamist militant movement and one of the Palestinian territoriesโ two major political parties, supporters of Palestine donโt automatically support Hamas or its actions. Nevertheless, DeSantis has ordered his stateโs universities to disband SJP groups, threatening to persecute and cut government funding to them otherwise.
DeSantis is equating support for Hamas with elementary school teachers who support LGBTQ+-inclusive student policies (or โradical gender ideology,โ as DeSantis calls it), such as allowing trans students to use names,ย pronouns, and bathrooms matching their gender identities.
DeSantis has used education policy as a way to push his anti-LGBTQ+ views, including the passage ofย his infamous โDonโt Say Gayโ lawย andย numerous other anti-LGBTQ+ laws. DeSantis hasย repeatedly liedย while publicly defending these laws.
Palestine Legal, a group that provides legal support for pro-Palestinian groups, says that DeSantisโ ban on SJP groups is part of his larger effort to restrict freedom of speech on campuses.
โFlorida, particularly under the leadership of Governor Ron DeSantis, has been actively undermining education, freedom of speech, and social justice movements, including by banning anti-racist courses and trying to criminalize protests. It is not surprising that this egregious move to silence the student movement for Palestinian rights is being pursued under DeSantis,โ it said Wednesday in a statement,ย according to WJTV. โIf it goes unchallenged, no oneโs political beliefs will be safe from government suppression.โย
In 2022, DeSantisย signed the so-called โStop WOKE Actโ andย other laws that prevent institutions from holding diversity trainingย on the oppressions faced by LGBTQ+ people, people of color, and other marginalized groups. His Stop WOKE Act has so far been blocked in court for its likely violation of free-speech protections. But even so, his laws are increasinglyย causing educators to flee the stateย while DeSantis rallies support forย using taxpayer money to fund Christian schoolsย and homeschooling.
Trans sex worker & ACLU sue Tennessee over HIV criminalization law
HIV criminalization lawsPhoto: ShutterstockThe American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Transgender Law Center have filed a federal lawsuit against a Tennessee law that requires HIV-positive sex workers to register for life as a โviolent sex offender.โ
The aforementioned advocacy organizations filed the lawsuit on behalf of the state LGBTQ+ advocacy groups OUTMemphis and four โJane Doeโ plaintiffs who were convicted under the law. The plaintiffs, which include a transgender woman, allege that they have faced discrimination and life struggles because of their violent sex offender status. These struggles have forced the trans woman to continue doing sex work, since finding a job can be difficult for someone on the registry.
Another plaintiff said that they were sent back to jail after violating the registryโs requirements. The plaintiffs allege that the law violates the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by handing harsher punishments to people with HIV, a chronic disease covered by the ADAโs anti-discrimination statutes. Tennessee is the only state with this law,ย according to the Edge Media Network.
โThis statute solely targets people because of their HIV status and keeps them in cycles of poverty while posing absolutely zero benefit to public health and safety,โ said Molly Quinn, executive director of OUTMemphis. โHIV stigma is becoming a thing of the past, and itโs time for state law to catch up.โ
The lawsuit lists Gov. Bill Lee (R-TN), Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Director David Rausch, and Department of Correction Commissioner Frank Stradaย as defendants.
While sex work is a misdemeanor crime in Tennessee, the HIV criminalization law turns the crime into a felony. An estimated 83 Tennesseeans are currently in the registry because of it. Tennessee legislators passed the law in 1991 near the height of the AIDS epidemic when over 100,000 Americans had died from the illness, and scientists were still trying to find effective medical treatments against it.
In 2021, Illinois, New Jersey, and Virginia repealed their felony HIV criminalization laws. However, in 2022, Pennsylvaniaย signed a law making it a felonyย to pass on a communicable disease when they โshould have knownโ that they had it โ the law included HIV.
As of 2022, 35 states have laws that criminalize HIV exposure, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Many of the laws were passed at a time when little was known about HIV and millions were dying from the virus.
Medical professionals have said that HIV criminalization laws do nothing to stop the spread of the virus and may even encourage people not to get tested for fear that the knowledge could subject them to criminal penalties.
โMany of these state laws criminalize actions that cannot transmit HIV โ such as biting or spitting โ and apply regardless of actual transmission, or intent,โย the CDC wrote. โAfter more than 40 years of HIV research and significant biomedical advancements to treat and prevent HIV transmission, many state laws are now outdated and do not reflect our current understanding of HIV.โ
A 2018 Williams Institute study on HIV criminalization in Georgia found that โBlack men and Black women were more likely to be arrested for HIV-related offenses than their white counterparts.โ While 26% of HIV-related arrests were of white males, 46% of HIV-related arrests were of Black males. Additionally, 11 % of those arrested were white females, while 16% were Black females.
Liberal Redneck – New Speaker MAGA Mike Johnson
It has been a very long hard day
Ron is still struggling with his leg.ย I told the pharmacy I would get my narcotics tomorrow instead of today, yes it is an issue in this state.ย More on that another time but I live in a state where right wing Christian part-time legislator bigots think they know more than pain doctors and pharmacist with training in the drugs and experience in the medical field.ย Their view is people in pain just need Jesus and to dedicate their lives to him rather than pain medications.ย ย I have over done today due to Ron still hobbling on his twisted knee.
After he got up from a three hour nap Ron made a beef burrito in spicy red sauce and several baked potatoes along with a thick red sauce gravy for them.ย Yes, I helped him, but the creation and the spices are all to his credit.ย Now I offered to help put it way, but he said he wanted to do it.ย Funny thing, each of us could only eat one burrito and one potato.ย Ron gave me two and himself two and I asked him to take one back, and after we ate he admitted he wished he had only taken one also.ย He had to put his second one back in the pan.ย ย
It is only 5 Pm but I am so tired I would go to bed now and be happy.ย But I have not played Halo in a few days.ย I am trying to decide if going to the work of pulling out the TV on that very heavy bracket and playing an hour or two would be better than just going to bed.ย Silly question.ย Halo won that debate without even trying.ย ย I will try to play.ย If I don’t work out, I will go to bed.ย I was up most of last night.ย So I really am tired out after all I did today.
Hugs, loves, best wishes.ย ย Scottie
It has been a long hard day in the Scottie home. Enjoy these please know the new Speaker Of The House is an extreme Christian Nationalist anti-LGBTQIA bigot that has fought for gay people like me to killed, oh and he is an election denier. I am done today.
What Happened in the House?
Rightwing host praises dad for rejecting gay daughter because LGBTQ+ people โinfest our childrenโ
Oh my dogs that love gravy, this post set me off.ย But before we get to that, I have been on and off on the computer today.ย Ron is still hobbling yet went out and put the new night pole light.ย So I have been doing the inside stuff, but yesterday our new outside solar pole lamp top arrived.ย Now, we had agreed he would paint the pole before attaching the new light.ย ย But today, after sitting in his chair as I was doing dishes, he disappeared for a while.ย Then informed me that the new lamp post light was on the pole.ย WTF!!!!ย ย I don’t know.ย But when I asked him about painting the pole, he said that could be done at any time.ย ย So I guess we have to see what happens next.ย
So now I am helping Ron make supper.ย But in the post below, the dad and the host seem to think that the daughter’s sexual awakening was a choice, which we know it is not, and that somehow it was forced on her.ย Notice that he says that the LGBTQ+ people want to โinfest our childrenโย WTF!ย Just how is such a belief possible?ย ย Hugs.ย Scottie

Photo: ScreenshotConservative BlazeTV host Steve Deace recently applauded a viewer for refusing to accept his lesbian daughter, saying that LGBTQ+ people want to โinfest our childrenโ and itโs important for parents to โmaintain their conviction.โ
Deaceโs reaction came in response to a letter from a viewer named David Biddle, who said he is a fundamentalist Southern Baptist and a โculture warrior.โ
He said his daughter โloved the Lordโ and was his โworldโ and โsidekickโ until her sophomore year of college, when she โgot grabbed by the lesbian cult.โ
โWe naturally had the emotions of anger and heartbrokenness,โ Biddle said, adding that he tried to convince her to change for the next year but that โshe kept insisting it was her choice to do this and she just likes this better.โ
He continued, โWithin a year of her conversion, she was โengagedโ [to a girl]โ and โshe became militant towards us for not embracing her choices.โ He explained that she said if they didnโt accept her, she would cut them out of her life.
โShe basically demanded we deny our faith,โ Biddle said. โThat was demonic words coming from her mouth.โ He asserted his belief that โaffirmation is not love; it is condemnationโ and said, โThe most unloving thing I could do as a father was to pave her path to eternal damnation.โ
He said he hasnโt spoken to his daughter in two years and that some of his extended family wonโt speak to him and his wife for what they have done.
Biddle ended by praising Deaceโs show for continuing to spread anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric. โKeep sounding the alarm of the evil demonic forces that are capturing our kids and all of society,โ he said.
Deaceโs response was to encourage parents like Biddle to โmaintain their conviction.โ
โThis is not as uncommon of a story as we would wish, unfortunately,โ he said, adding that โa lot of our institutions have a lot of conviction to infest our children,โ as if LGBTQ+ people are insects or rodents that need to be exterminated.
โIf they have come to the point that they can penetrate the bubble of families, even like the one that David articulated here, understand that this thing has metastasized deeply into our culture, and the only way out is through,โ Deace said. โIโd urge everybody in our audience to pray for David and families like him, to maintain their conviction, and that the lord would reward that in this life or the next.โ

Fake medical group tells moms to submit to their husbands to keep their kids from being transgender
Wow, really pushing the religious idea a woman’s place is to obey the men in her life, she is owned by her husband, and along with the misogyny of strict 1950s gender role there is the long debunked idea of what makes kids gay, only now just pushed on to trans kids also.ย These people simply refuse to accept modern science which has shown that kids are born with their sexual orientation and their view of their gender identity.ย Regardless of how often, how forceful, how authoritarian the person telling them they are not gay, gay kids know they are.ย Same with trans kids, despite the same people telling them they are the gender they were assigned at birth, they KNOW who they really are inside.ย ย But this is what we face with the religious Nationalist right wing take over and push to return to the 1950s.ย These are the same people that deny other science because their bibles / really their preachers / priest / pastors tell them that science is wrong because the bible is right.ย ย These same people claim there was a worldwide flood and that an ark built by a 600-year-old man held every creature on earth, and also the world is only 6000 years old so that same family had a lot of fucking / child birthing to do to get to the number of humans alive today.ย None of it makes sense if you try to take it literally.ย But they don’t care, their feelings / beliefs are more important than reality or facts.ย They feel the same on sexual / gender issues.ย ย Yet in at least 26 US states these people have the majority in government.ย Can the US afford this?ย ย Hugs.ย Scottie.

Photo: ShutterstockThe American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds) โย a Christian anti-LGBTQ+ hate groupย that uses its professional-sounding name to push transphobic and anti-abortion propaganda โ has unveiled a new website encouraging parents to send their trans kids to conversion therapy. The website tells mothers not to be โdominantโ and not to be โcriticalโ of nor โdisplay hurt or angry emotionsโ towards their husbands.
The website, called theย โBiological Integrity Initiative,โย offers outdated and non-clinically backed โresourcesโ for parents, teens, physicians, schools, and policymakers, all geared towards denying the identities of trans youth, particularly those of trans girls. It introduces gender-questioning teens to the tale ofย right-wing de-transitioner Chloe Cole, tells teachers to oppose trans-inclusive school policies (referred to as โgender interventionsโ), and tells policymakers that they must pass bans on gender-affirming healthcare to โprotect civilizationโ and โhuman dignity.โ

A fake medical group is lobbying Trump. Itโs actually a hate group in disguise.
But will the administration see through the charade?
Theย websiteโs advice to parentsย is especially concerning.
It tells mothers not to be critical of their husbands or โoverly sensitiveโ to their sons. Mothers are advised to frequently โcompliment the fatherโ and to refrain from showing their children any โangry emotionsโ towards their husbands. It also tells mothers to โset a good example of womanhoodโ for their daughters because, if they donโt, their daughters may โdevelop a wrong perceptionโฆ and may resist embracing a female identity.โ
โA mother who is not emotionally connected to her daughter may leave her daughter craving motherly love. Likewise, a father who is not closely connected to his son may leave a son craving fatherly love,โย the siteโs handoutย on โAffirming Your Daughterโs and Sonโs Sexual Identityโ states.
โMothers should not favor a son over his father, even if the son is more responsive and compassionate than the husband,โ the handout continues. โIf mothers make this mistake, the son may identify with the mother and fail to bond with the father.โ
This concept โ that emotionally distant and physically unaffectionate parents create gay or โgender-confusedโ children โ is a popular but widely debunked concept from 19th-century Freudian psychology. While psychologists have observed that neglected and abused children may risk their personal safety to find support and affection from other sources, thereโs zero proof that parental distance causes homosexuality or trans identity.
Similarly, the handout says that molestation, sexual abuse, and graphic pornography can cause trans identity. The same has been said of homosexuality, and there is no proof to back up either claim.
The group tells fathers to be โphysically activeโ and โwrestle on the floorโ with their sons, โplay tackle and praise him for being tough when he is knocked down,โ and also to go on โman timeโ dates with the boy. It also tells dads to have their sons help mow the lawn, fix the toilet, shovel snow, build model cars and benches, go hunting to kill animals, and โthrow, kick and dribble a ballโฆ even if he chooses not to play sports.โ
Under the websiteโs โTeen FAQ,โ it states, โThere is no evidence that opposite-sex hormones make you feel better,โ even though a large-scale 2023 study inย The New England Journal of Medicineย found thatย hormone therapy improves mental health for trans youth. The FAQ also claims that โopposite sex hormones can increase thoughts of hurting yourself,โ โincrease unhealthiness,โ โmay cause permanent infertility,โ and โwill make teens โa medical patient for life.’โ
The site backs up some of its claims by referring toย a 12-year-old Swedish studyย of data on 324 trans people collected from 1973 to 2003. The study found higher rates of suicide and criminal convictions among trans individuals, but such actions may be explained by transphobia and the fewer economic opportunities and social support resources for trans people.
As for โinfertility,โย trans journalist Erin Reed notedย that fertility counseling is a regular part of any medical care for trans youth. Reed said that the ACPeds site pushes gender exploratory therapy, โa new type of conversion therapy which seeks to persuade transgender individuals that their gender identity stems from anything but authentic transness.โ The ACPeds websiteโs โFind a Therapistโ section links to numerous Christian and Catholic conversion therapy groups.
In her newsletter, Reed wrote, โThe Gender Exploratory Therapy Associationย frequently deniesย that it engages in conversion therapy. They assert that their therapeutic approach isย โneutral in natureโย andย โdoes not prejudge outcomes.โย Yet, this associationย opposes bans on conversion therapy, submitsย public commentsย in favor of blocking Title IX protections against gender discrimination for trans students, and its official account has been observedย endorsing tweetsย like โtrans healthcare is the latest in a long line of medical fads.โ Such actions hardly mirror the claims of a โneutral, non-prejudicedโ entity.โ
Tennessee Republicans keep losing court battles with drag queens
The republicans don’t care they keep losing.ย This is a holy war for them.ย They are doing god’s work of wiping the LGBTQIA from society and returning women to their submissive roles.ย But their goal is to roll back and undo any progress in the US for equality and allowing others to enjoy civil rights.ย ย They want a theocracy instead of a democracy.ย Hugs.ย Scottie
Photo: ShutterstockWhile Tennessee Republicans have done their best to vilify drag queens and ban drag shows, they keep getting knocked back by judges who rule that the bans are unconstitutional.
The city of Murfreesboro became the latest municipality toย find out the hard wayย when a federal judge blocked their attempt to interfere with a local Pride festival.

Lizzo brought an army of queens to protest Tennesseeโs anti-drag law
โDrag Raceโ alums and local performers joined the Grammy-winner onstage in Knoxville.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the ACLU of Tennessee sued overย the cityโs efforts to silence a local LGBTQ+ organization, including a city-wide policy denying the group permits to host events and a local ordinance banning drag performances.
The lawsuit accused the city of Murfreesboro of โflagrant and ongoing violations of TEPโs constitutional rights to free speech and expression, due process, and equal protection under the law.โ
โSince at least October 2022, the City has engaged in a targeted campaign to silence TEPโs speech in support of the Murfreesboro LGBTQ+ community,โ the suit claimed. โFirst, the City put in place a discriminatory policy, prohibiting TEP from obtaining permits to host its annual BoroPride Festival and any other events on City property. Then, it enacted a discriminatory ordinance meant to drive TEP and the Cityโs LGBTQ+ communityโand, in particular, its drag performersโout of the Cityโs public spaces. These actions, which were driven by animus against the LGBTQ+ community, are blatantly unconstitutional.โ
โWe are relieved that the court has taken action to ensure that Murfreesboroโs discriminatory ordinance will not be enforced during the BoroPride festival. We look forward to a safe, joyful celebration of Murfreesboroโs LGBTQ+ community,โ Tennessee Equality Project Executive Director Chris Sanders said in a statement.
Several other cities have made efforts to discriminate against LGBTQ+ groups and Pride festivals, but the efforts have consistently failed.
Theย attendance at Blount Pride Fest doubledย from last year after a Tennessee attorney generalย threatened to prosecute the eventโs drag performers.
A federal judge appointed by Donald Trumpย ruled against Tennesseeโs ban on drag performances, saying that the law is both โunconstitutionally vague and substantially overbroad,โ that it will encourage โdiscriminatory enforcement,โ and that it violates the First Amendmentโs free speech protections.
โThere is no question that obscenity is not protected by the First Amendment. But there is a difference between material that is โobsceneโ in the vernacular, and material that is โobsceneโ under the law,โ Judge Thomas Parker ruled in June. โSimply put, no majority of the Supreme Court has held that sexually explicit โ but not obscene โ speech receives less protection than political, artistic, or scientific speech.โ
