An update on my not feeling well before I start replying to comments.

I have two stomach issues causing my problems right now. I have gastroparesis and a sensitive stomach that cannot take pressure.  Gastroparesis is a medical disorder of ineffective neuromuscular contractions of the stomach, resulting in food and liquid remaining in the stomach for a prolonged period. Stomach contents thus exit more slowly into the duodenum of the digestive tract, a medical sign called delayed gastric emptying.  Sometimes my stomach won’t empty for a very long time. For example last night I ate half a ham and chicken sandwich at about 4 pm.  I was unable to force more down.  I went to bed around 5 pm.

I woke at 1 am with stomach pain and nausea. At 1:30 am I lurched to the toilet to vomit.  Everything in my stomach came up, and I felt better after the pressure was relieved. I went back to bed. Then I woke at 4:15 and knew I was going to vomit again.  I was bletching a lot but it was not going to be enough pressure release.  At 4:30 am I was again voiding my stomach into the toilet. I went back to bed but got up at 5 am anyway.

I drank a cup of water too fast and in 20 minutes it came back up. So I started slower.  I had two fiber cookies and slow sips of water. Everything stayed down, and I felt fine if very tired. So at 10 am I am having the other half of my sandwich from last night.  My stomach feels very full but I am not nauseated.  Ron is getting very worried as he thinks my stomach is getting slower at emptying and that it is becoming more sensitive taking less pressure to cause me pain and being nauseous.  Time will tell.  Hugs

New punishment device, a stepper thingy. I could use your advice.

So below I will add the pictures of the torture device my husband insisted I needed.  We have not been walking like we used to.  There seems to always be a reason why but my husband worries about how thin my legs have gotten and that I have started to have swollen ankles and feet sitting at my desk so much.  So

we got this device.

Now comes the punishment part.  The first time I tried it I did 3 sets of 5 minutes of stepping, rested 10 minutes between sets.  Two or three hours later as I was doing the dishes my legs started to really hurt and get stiff.  I couldn’t bend my legs.  My thighs were swollen.  I was in agony so bad I couldn’t finish the dishes.  I have not used it since.   Can anyone tell me the proper amount of time to use it and how many minutes to rest between and how many sets to do.  Thanks.  I do want to get healthy and build back up my legs that have atrophied but I don’t want to die doing it.   Hugs
